Catherine

Hello! VERY beautiful aquarium, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Glad to see our ranks have increased...

Elijah7048

Class!!! It's quite a fish reef. I liked Samp - it's well made...

Cheyenne2747

A couple of photos from the series "how it all started."

Tracy

Very beautiful! Thank you Max!!! I hope you will delight us with the next photos of your gorgeous aquarium! And what is that green grass? What is it called? Post № 1 photo 4?

Gregory9432

Purchased from a as clavularia sp.

Richard

The water in the aquarium has the following parameters: PH - 7.8-8.3 KH 6-7 (a bit low) Nitrates and phosphates are at zero. Water change of 30 liters once every two weeks, density 1.025. A household reverse osmosis unit is used to obtain the water. Here are some more photos.

Larry9400

And also

Rebecca1419

And here it is.

Craig7302

It's so beautiful that it's hard to believe it's real! And it's even scary to think about how much money and effort has been invested in this beauty!

Erica752

There isn't that much work, but as for money... well, not right away, but over the course of a year. The result is worth it, isn't it?

Anne4851

How about calcium, Maxim? My Clavularia Sp has been closed for the second day now.

Jason5071

Yes, I forgot about calcium; it stays at a level of 400 - 420 ppm after being introduced into the calcium reactor system.

Angela6489

Max, are the apogons spawning yet? Have you seen the fry?

Julia

I have two types of Apogon, and in the photo are the ones that spawn constantly. I got three specimens, and a pair formed from two of them (the third one is always being chased away). I can imagine how much time and effort it takes to raise a fry; in short, I didn't specifically engage in that. How surprised I was when, about three weeks ago, I was examining the aquarium at night with a flashlight and discovered a fry about 7 millimeters long, looking exactly like an adult specimen. It immediately hid among the rocks, and I haven't seen it since.

Caitlin3279

Here is a photo of some inhabitants of the aquarium.

David3217

Amazing!!!

Jenny

Maxim, let's have some new photos. I know you have them. Do you have HELMON of all the fan worms settled? Otherwise, he looks so well-fed.

Noah1632

Max needs to be gifted a cantigaster - it will be a sweet couple of Helmon and cantigaster.

Charles

Offtopic: Max&, what material is your bedside table made of, who is the manufacturer, and where did you buy it?

Danielle9144

Ray Tkatch came to visit me with a very trendy camera and took several photos.

Phillip9722

I have a coral called Porites covered with beautiful pink fan worms, and so far all the worms are intact. I specifically did not overfeed Helmon, and he started taking Artemia from the water column a week after being placed in the tank. The purpose of his purchase was to combat aiptasia, but they don't seem to interest him for now.

Travis572

Thank you for the offer, but I have a weakness for all kinds of crawling creatures, and this "Sikorsky helicopter" will take care of them.

Sheila1322

I would like to add that the metal halide lamp was also purchased from Arovana. The manufacturer is Atman. SUPER!

David4089

Maxim, tell us about feeding corals. How, with what, how many times, and what supplements do you use, and why?

Amber1273

There is no special system; primarily, the corals receive part of what is intended for the fish. During the day, this consists of two dry foods - spirulina "chips" and shrimp (by Arovana). In the evening, I feed them artemia and (or) squid, tiger shrimp (the only one that is not cooked), and raw predatory fish. I specifically feed three Trachyphyllias, two Plerogyra, Catalaphyllia, and Euphyllia hammer once a week. I recently acquired Coral Fluid and Marine Snow, which everyone definitely liked, but I need to be careful with the dosage. I have developed a brown film on part of the DSB. Additionally, I occasionally add vitamins from Aquarium Systems.

Charles

I want to remove a few fish from the aquarium - brown apogon and clownfish. I tried using a net, feeding them from the net, bought hooks - they won't bite. However, the surgeons are coming.

Travis572

Maybe we should try a trap?

Cynthia6578

I am reaching out to the Admin with a request to allocate more space for photos in this topic. Recently, several hydrobionts were purchased from Igor (Bereznyaki), the most interesting being a Cypraea measuring 5-6 cm. If there is space, I will post a photo.

Noah1632

It won't work that way; the admins don't always have time to read all the messages.

Jeffery7866

I have been using salt for substitution for about a month - Riff Crystal (bought from a), and yesterday I measured the freshly salted water after an hour of aeration with a 2-ton pump: pH-8.4; Kh-9; Ca-460. In the aquarium itself - pH-8.2 (morning), 8.4 (evening); Kh-6; Ca-380. The calcium reactor works only during the day, with an output of Kh-40 (60-70 drops per minute). The kalkwasser works around the clock and adds 6-7 liters per day.

Raven7170

What's up with the photos - having trouble? I'm telling you - send them to my email along with your comments, and I'll post them on my site - that's all the hassle...

Brooke

Thank you, it seems they added it.

Michael3221

My advice to you is to lower the pH in the calcium reactor. You have many calcium consumers. I said to buy a bigger calcium reactor. The main thing is not the parameters, but how your aquarium (REEF) looks; many can envy that.

Brian6895

pH in the rector 6.3-6.37, which is even lower. It's true that I would like the rector's volume to be around 10 liters, you were right. There is an Aquamedic calcium additive, but I don't want to add it. Calcium is increasing, albeit slowly; I hope it will reach balance (400-420) with KH (6-7) in a couple of weeks.

Anne

By the way, I got an avatar, it's a coral brain coral that Ray Tkachev photographed this summer in the Red Sea. If Ray doesn't mind, I'll post a couple of stunning photos of dendronephthya.

Christopher7213

You chose a cool avatar! You can upload the dendronephthya to the gallery and provide a link to them here.

Tasha

Here is the link to these photos, which may not be entirely relevant to the section, but I think everyone interested in marine aquariums will find it interesting.

James5103

The promised photos of the cyprinus. I hadn't seen her for about a week, and yesterday she appeared from the rocks.

Andrea8397

Very, very beautiful cowrie! Big! Did you not manage to take a photo of the strombus?

Stephen

Dendronephthya are really cool, does anyone import them? I saw them in the Red Sea near the piers and columns, in quite murky water and not much light. I didn't see them at all in open spaces under the sun. They should be undemanding in theory, but they are very impressive.

Andrew9246

Dendronephthya - class!!! If I'm not mistaken - soft coral. It can be cut and shared... :-)

Jose

You're not mistaken, but where can I get them... I brought them a couple of times, but that was a long time ago.

Courtney

didn't get the hint...

Tara2761

And the footage from Egypt is not being brought - this is UNDERWATER filming!!

Heather9815

I fed the trachyphyllia shrimp, and a strombus about 1.5 cm in size crawled out from the rocks, went straight for it, grabbed the meat, and disappeared. I saw it for the first time in a year.

Joshua

Dendronephthya, precisely because of their low light requirements, are complex; they are found in areas where the current constantly carries plankton, making it very difficult to keep them in an aquarium for an extended period. At least for me, they haven't lived longer than two months. I think they need a special aquarium with subdued lighting and enhanced feeding, similar to almost all gorgonians.

Kellie

It's a pity, they look beautiful overall. Although where I saw them, I wouldn't say there was an excess of plankton - just an ordinary beach, fenced off by piers, and there were plenty of them on the columns of these piers, but I didn't see any in the open areas at all. Maybe they need less light, and they probably feed at night.

Tonya

There are, of course, a couple of species of dendronephthya with zooxanthellae (which feed on light), but mainly they are plankton-eating. A lot of plankton rises from the depths at night. I saw in the Red Sea concentrations of plankton that were so dense it was almost frightening; that's where I took these pictures of dendronephthya.

Hunter1471

Here is a photo of my new camel shrimp. They were purchased from Igor (Bereznyaki) to combat aiptasia.

Stephanie4990

Here is a photo of my second aquarium.

Julie

Will other types of corals not be touched? Please give the Latin name.

Kimberly4253

Camel Shrimp (Rhynchocinetes durbanensis) Indo-Pacific As long as there are no aphthecies, it won't be touched, and then it will depend on luck.

Amber6362

One of the major aphids, which could not be reached by either vinegar or chalk, has already disappeared. We'll see what happens next, for now, no one is being disturbed. There was a time when I watered them with hydroxide every week until I pricked them with vinegar - it helps more.

Karen81

I cleaned the "Durso" overflow today and took a photo.

Steven757

Is there a diagram somewhere showing how it works?

Nicholas2252

Where was this device purchased and how much money was paid for it?

Linda

The device was assembled from fittings purchased at "Epicenter" with a grid from "Aquamedic." I slightly trimmed the tee to reduce the width of the structure. A small hole was drilled in the stopper, and a straw, which is used to attach the balls in McDonald's, was glued in there. Then the entire structure was covered with black silicone to make the white color less noticeable. At the end of the silicone tube, there is a valve that regulates the airflow into the system.

Andrew9246

Happy holidays to everyone, Today we discovered, together with Tulip, a new supplier of marine life in Bereznyaki (Tychina "Koi Center"). I want to show the cone snails purchased from him. I have wanted these for a long time, bought them several times, but they died very quickly after being placed in the aquarium.

Ricky9405

They are sympathetic when they grow, two years ago we got two with J.K. (living stones).

Ryan2281

In December, I acquired these red-sea animals. The snails, which are round, were visible from the surf zone. I filmed them from the wall two meters away from the aquarium.

Amy5070

Lucky ...

Charles5941

Tridacna is very beautiful!!

Amy5468

Find out the address of the monastery or the phone number.

Brent5588

Tychiny 10, office 96, phone 223-26-78

Jose

To be precise, the sea is handled by Dmitry and his phone number is 223-26-75.

Joseph8842

After solving the problem I described, I measured the water parameters, and today the results are pH 8 - 8.4; KH - 8; Ca - 400; Magnesium - 1200.

Devon107

Only alien beauty can surpass it - thanks to our planet!

Mark7376

Hello everyone Due to the purchase of a new camera, I decided to share some photos.

Mariah

What kind of camera is that? The aquarium looks beautiful...

Eric

Thank you, Overall, not bad, considering that about a year ago a lot of calcareous algae spilled into the aquarium, mainly affecting the hard corals. Yes, the planarians are a nuisance, but there are already much fewer than before. Camera - Canon PowerShot G9, I'm practicing.

Tammy

A very beautiful aquarium, it takes my breath away when I look at it.

Christopher1774

Thank you, unfortunately the aquarium is going through a rough patch right now. I'll add a couple more photos from May 2008.

Thomas

Since I'm here, I'll share some photos from my trip to China. I was on Hainan Island, where they eat all sorts of things. I bought some snails and tried to bring them back to Kyiv in my luggage. Only the horned strombus and a few large cones survived. The strombus lived for 9 months but couldn't withstand the challenges and died, while the cone is still doing great.

Leslie

It's a pity that beauty couldn't be preserved in stability. What do you think is the reason?????

Kellie

What camera is that?

Joseph591

Canon G9
