Offtopic. And the Carolinas are nowhere to be found. Recently, there was a debate in some thread...
Robert5335
So she won't be in the swamp. It's clear that all the stones are covered in a layer. You need to look at the crest of the reef and further away from the hotel beach.
Rachael
There are. There are plenty of pontoons below, I just didn't take photos, didn't think anyone would be interested in Carolina. By the way, all the pontoons and ladders are made of stainless steel, according to the locals, they've been there for several years.
William1830
Some of the filming was done in Ras Mohammed National Park.
I think the depth is visible.
This is not a beach.
Elijah7048
Yes, come on, what age, everything is great!
Robert800
Beauty!!!!!!!!
Jacob4800
Well, just a little more
I don't know what kind of fish it is, but it's digging like your bulldozer
One of the authors of the photographs.
And just like that
"In a white cloak with a bloody lining, the procurator of Judea, Pontius Pilate, looked at the white city."
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Golgotha.
The Assumption of Christ.
At the bottom, you can slightly see the stone on which Christ was anointed with oil. Now it is one of the three most sacred relics. The other two are the stone where he was laid and the stone that closed the grotto, which cannot be photographed.
Lee425
There is Carolina, oh yes! It has been written many times that it doesn't grow under bright light.
PS I just returned from Sharm on Sunday. I was resting at Hilton Waterfalls.
Kevin
If the topic author doesn't mind, I'll share some photos too.
Brian7092
And a little more.
Brianna
Cool photos!
Stephanie3084
What an eternal sight.........the sea!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sheila1322
I wonder what is glowing under the acropolis?
Judy
It's hard to say now... Maybe such a beast..?
Barbara
Well, there are many unclear things there... Such formations are often found at a depth of 5 meters. Who made them and why - ????
It's also interesting...
These tourists are getting on my nerves.
John3187
I don't know what is blushing there, but I assume it's NOT under the acropolis, but under the sinularia.
It seems to be such a biting fish, at least it looks like one.
Jennifer7159
Right under the Acropolis!
Kimberly2102
It's her. She always tried to bite the ring. The truth is they only attack if you swim ABOVE the corals.
Lindsey3628
From the photos, I understand that you have been to both Egypt and Israel, right? Did you see the Suez Canal? Did you travel from Egypt to Israel by bus through the Sinai Peninsula or did you sail by sea: through the Mediterranean or the Red Sea?
Darrell5975
If you have time and desire, please write a review about the hotel and the reef.
Randy
Maybe a creature like this?
Patricia1746
If the topic's author has no objections, then I would be happy to!
Veronica
Egypt, Israel, Palestine
No. We passed by bus through the tunnel UNDER the canal when we went to Cairo. You can't see it from there.
And on the approach to the canal, the road goes down, so you can't see anything either. I only saw it from a distance, but I'm not even sure it was the canal.
By bus. 3.5 hours to the border, 2.5 hours to the Dead Sea, 2 hours to Jerusalem.
Larry
I stayed at the Sol Sharm hotel. I liked it. It's on the second line, but on the first line, they have Sol Syrena, from the same hotel group, so everything is free and on the beach. There is a bus from the hotel to the beach every 5 minutes, but it's only a 5-minute walk anyway. There isn't a reef as such, just separate reef groups underwater. You can see a real reef in the Ras Mohammed reserve. A day trip by boat (3 stops in different places, lunch, drinks) costs 30 USD per person. P.S. This is not an advertisement.
Reginald5073
Unlikely. There are many such "volcanoes," both old and new, but I haven't seen such a creature.
Jade
The little bull in his burrow
Angel2396
Did you bring anything for yourself from the sea in a wet towel?
Lauren
No, it's strict there; you can get a couple of years.
James4342
Sorry for the off-topic, but it struck me... there was no Dormition of Christ. There was the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. And the photos are great!
Anna9752
I'm not an expert in such matters.
Marie5735
It's even worse there than here; they checked me at the airport, saw a shell in my bag, asked me to step into the restroom. I went out, approached a local, gave him 5 units, and wished him a happy flight, telling him to come back to us again. If it were in Germany, there would be problems.
Katie4842
Yes, Egypt is a "one dollar" country. You can't climb the pyramids - you give a dollar to the policeman, and he will even suggest how to climb more comfortably. ............ I didn't want to take risks with corals and such, although I had the desire.
Lisa
probably did the right thing
Nancy758
Charm is a dump today; in Ras Muhammad, if you look closely, half of the corals are broken and it starts to resemble a garbage dump (an overwhelming number of excursions at 30 USD per person, which is the only way to describe 90% of the tourists, and the remnants of uneaten free lunches thrown overboard). You can still see a relatively decent reef in Dahab (there are only about 10-15 hotels there) and it's closer to Israel.
Richard2180
They say the most beautiful corals are in aquariums, but the fish... There it is!
Brandon4517
On the left is a photo, A. Bicinctus, the crypt loves them very much, like no others...
Danielle
and a lot...
a small fragment from a night dive in the Red Sea, my colleague filmed it while I was secretly learning off-camera...
Catherine6534
Terrible video. Your colleague's behavior underwater leaves much to be desired. He touched everything he could and couldn't with his hands, disturbing all the sleeping sea creatures. ...Damn, why does he have to poke at all the inhabitants, chase the moray eel, and toss around the Spanish dancer...
Kenneth2761
He can do it; he knows what is acceptable and what is not. He does not advise others to do it; this is his professional activity.
Kimberly3727
a video from the series of what not to do at sea, barbarism, if one word
Leslie
A world-renowned hydrobiologist... I once knew a nature lover who swore he loved it selflessly, yet in spring he poisoned fish with carbide at spawning grounds... Sorry, that's not what I wanted to say... I was talking about shrimp... once I was ridiculed on a forum for it.
Kathleen
In this cave, there are not only krivetsos but also actinias... a lot, very unique place.
I apologize for getting off topic.
Martha
Well, there's no need to relax too much.
Crystal
Continuing the topic of the reefs of Naama Bay. The video will be available upon arrival; I filmed a lot.
Charles4157
Yeah. The fish here are quite impressive. Off-topic. There is a video recording of this monster hunting.
John
How does the camera shoot? Are the colors accurately represented?
Joseph8842
It shoots well. The photo in the previous post is a still from the video. .............................. A bit about the bay itself. 99% are hard madrepore corals, a lot of fire corals (I've already gotten burned). Among the soft corals are anemones, yellow sinularia, lobophyton, and flavites. Photos of the soft corals are below.
Angel628
There is a VERY informative article about the Canon D10 camera for underwater photography.
James4757
In general, everything is written correctly. The video quality is poor (underwater) and not great in the dark. But overall, it's quite a decent camera for an amateur. As for the video (thanks to Igor), I shoot with a professional underwater camera.
Amy9618
Be careful with them; I had a wound on my arm that took six months to heal, and all the skin peeled off. It's no joke.
Teresa
A bottle of apple cider vinegar is always in my bag. It works great!
Nancy758
Continuing the live report
This post is dedicated to hedgehogs.
I encountered three species, but mainly the diadems live, sometimes in colonies (photo 1).
Since hedgehogs are nocturnal animals, all the photos were taken "through the keyhole."
Christopher3770
Mollusks.
There are a lot (really A LOT) of giant clams. Often found in colonies of 2-5 individuals.
Sizes range from a matchbox to a good watermelon.
Besides them (live, not shells), there are cone snails and "pelican's foot" (the second photo, that's it in Olga's hands).
The latter is found at great depths (over 10 m).
I saw a cone snail, but then couldn't find the spot - I will find it.
Tina
Interestingly, I have never seen a Tridacna in the sea smaller than a matchbox. Where do the small ones go? Do tourists chip them off? As I mentioned, from 5 cm and larger, they are abundant, but not a single small one. It's strange...
Sarah5423
Off-topic, I like your signature... Always relevant...
Katie5500
Let's continue. Probably the most vibrant thing in the sea is the fish!
Michelle5859
Fish (not the brightest and most pleasant)
In order:
Napoleon
Tuna
Ray
Amy1672
If I'm not annoying everyone yet, may I continue? A couple of new fish.
Jacob7201
Class, Seryoga, a photoshoot at a height. This year at the sea is cooler than last year, and you can take some close-up photos of J.K. (living stones) to show their structure and appearance. Take photos at your discretion, both in the water and, if possible, on land, including areas with sand.
Jeremy
New hedgehogs
The second one is very interesting - unlike its relatives, it does not hide in a crevice, but attaches itself to a rock and sits openly.
Mariah
Crustaceans. Unfortunately, there are very few of them here. Last year, in another place (just a couple of kilometers away), it was impossible to move because of the hermits.
Brent8919
The question I asked a year ago and to which no one could answer is whether it is possible to keep mudskippers in a marine aquarium. The answer is yes, as they live in the Red Sea.
Scott9892
Mollusks. There are many of them, especially small ones, with a variety of shapes and colors.
Wendy8540
Offtopic. That's it, Seryoga, I'm going to the garden to dig, and I'm heading to you. I already dreamed of your photo report today.
Jennifer7578
Seryozha, please explain in more detail, because I didn't understand anything about the periorbitals. Besides, that's not him in the photo.
Thomas5021
Don't take the snail home in the 4th photo - it's a predator! Its leg is dark.
Megan
I brought about 20-30 of those snails from Thailand... after 2 years, only their shells are left... the last ones disappeared a month ago. I haven't noticed any harm or benefit from them.
Vanessa
I don't know about Tai, but the one in the photo eats other mollusks and worms. It gnaws a hole in the shell. I have one that has been living for a year and a half, growing slowly, and it has eaten a snail and a worm.
Johnny
I can't explain, but the fish in the photo lives on the shore, in the surf zone. I don't know of any other fish besides the jumpers that prefer to live on the shore rather than in the water.
Rodney3101
I won't be carrying anything - I don't want any trouble.
Lori4746
He is Tolya, he is. I just can't determine the appearance. Here is a photo from the internet, it looks exactly like that:
And here is an article about them:
Jennifer5784
I don't understand why, with just over 48 hours until departure, we haven't enjoyed the photos yet, so grab the camera and let's go to the sea.
Wanda666
It's only 7:00. We'll have breakfast now and then head to the sea. I'll try to film the inhabitants of the tidal zone today.
Mark7376
Well, yes, a buffet with all sorts of treats... I recommend going to the drink station, pouring a glass of cold hibiscus tea, and squeezing three halves of lime into it, which are usually in gauze bags. The desire to have breakfast disappears, and the urge to take some photos appears.
Joshua448
Off-topic. Seryozha, if this is really a mudskipper, Periophthalmus, then a reef aquarium won't work for it. It would be better suited for a paludarium with a shore simulation. But basically, what are we talking about, "the Arabs these days, well, well, they pressured Europe, and we supported them very much in the Six-Day War".... (V. Vysotsky)
Gene1948
1000%
I was basically thinking, but about the real content - think and think.
Here they are, sitting in a crowd.
John3142
We also kept them. Whether it's right or not, but the cockroaches were under the protection of the law.
Joseph9203
Hello everyone!
Kenneth7210
Peace be upon you!
First of all, rinse the swim trunks in aquarium water and pour that water back in to add fresh bacteria.
Examine the fins and other equipment to check if anything is stuck or attached, and immediately release them into your aquarium.
Alyssa6727
Welcome! The photos are just amazing! The beauty there is indescribable!) We should go abroad in the summer! By the way, has anyone from the forum been to BBR yet? Travel agencies are currently offering similar tours... but the prices are shark-bite high))
Jennifer7159
Seryozha, welcome!!!
William5838
There is nothing. I only brought the skins of two hedgehogs (with needles) and a small shell. The skins are just a souvenir, and I already threw away the shell.
David953
How did the aquarium cope with your absence, did it get upset?
Diana8604
She handled it great!!!
James5103
Here are such ones. They feed on ... jumpers.
Tracy
Seryoga, I just managed to look at your photos. Well done and thank you!!! Very informative - you photographed with an understanding of what would be interesting for marine aquarists.
Jeffrey2277
Red Sea sketches, filming by him, camera and editing by me
Michael5242
Thank you! Super! I wanted to ask, did I imagine it, or is the reef actually half-empty? How accurate is the color representation of the corals?
Sarah5423
Well, at this depth it is quite reliable.
Sheila1322
No. Not everything made it into the movie. The total video is almost 9 gigabytes.
Lori4746
What kind of camera is that?
Lauren
Mistreated, GoPro HERO 2
Danielle9144
The owner was ahead. He didn't really clarify + underwater boxing.
Katie5500
Isn't it sold with a box? But there's no display... How do you aim at the object? Or is it just for overview shots?
Amber
Approximately. The field of view is 120 degrees.
Julie3950
The box that comes with it is also designed for a pressure of 7 bar, but it has a spherical lens that causes distortion and lacks focus underwater, so it is more needed as mechanical protection. The underwater box has a huge, almost flat lens, similar to the camera itself, which eliminates all distortions and maintains focus. The camera has a wide angle of 170 degrees (127 degrees underwater), which is quite enough not to aim too precisely. I usually attach it to my head or to the main box.
Laura3615
Offtopic I was looking on foreign websites, and it seems you can buy a marine lens for 50 bucks and replace the original one. But WHO will sell it here???
By the way, why did they install a spherical lens? ..
What kind of box are you using, homemade?
If this camera had even a tiny display, it would be priceless ...
James3382
Off-topic, one homemade titanium one tested at 50 bar, the other branded - Ikelite. There's no point in messing with lenses, the whole box costs $60.
Emma
Off-topic I found this one for sale, original -
Where do they sell Ikelite?
Stephen
Off-topic. Yes, it's that kind of box where they sell Ikelite, but I can't help you with that; mine was brought to me from America.
Richard
