There was a scratch on the finger, and the water was tingling with electricity. How dangerous is this for living creatures? Can the equipment cause this, or is it specifically damaged somewhere?

Craig7302

It's very dangerous. It's dangerous for everyone. We need to urgently find the cause. We can also try a trial-and-error method, that is, turning all the equipment off and on one by one. But it's better to invite an electrician if you're not very familiar with electricity.

Here, read this.

What equipment do you have? Check all the wires of your equipment. The worst case is if there is a short circuit inside the equipment.

I had this issue with Chinese flow pumps that cost 110. They all started leaking literally after six months. I had to silicone the input wires into the pump housing, it's better to seal them with epoxy. Sometimes scrapes and cuts on my hands work better in seawater than a tester.

The best approach is to invite an electrician with a proper device (not a Chinese tester) to measure the insulation resistance of the water equipment. Indicator screwdrivers can light up even if everything is fine. They can also give a shock if everything is fine. Only an electrician can determine where it is dangerous and find the cause.

CHECKED, TWO PUMPS ARE PINCHING, the flow pump is a year old, and the return pump is two years old. The wires are fine, I didn't see anything special. It pinched at a wound on my finger, the wound has healed, now it doesn't pinch.

It's great that the finger has healed! However, the problem itself hasn't disappeared. Try to replace this equipment with a functioning one if possible, as over time the short circuit may worsen and start to not just tingle but deliver an electric shock. As a temporary solution, you can try unplugging the plug and reinserting it into the socket, turning it 180 degrees (switching the prongs) and checking if the "tingling" decreases. If it does, mark this position of the plug and use it this way next time. If it worsens, return the plug to its original position and also mark it for the future.

A friend of mine, also from the forum, killed all the fish in the aquarium.

ONLY NOW THERE IS NO PAIN AND I CAN'T CHECK .... HOW CAN I CHECK?? I HAVE A LIGHT BULB FLICKERING IN THE LAMP WHEN THE LIGHT IS OFF, CAN IT BE THE CAUSE OF THE SHOCK??? THE FLOW PUMP - HURDLE WORKED FOR 1 YEAR, I DOUBT IT CAN CAUSE A SHOCK.
