• Alternative to metal frames

One of the alternatives to metal frame structures for aquariums is an interesting solution made from machine aluminum profile. This option has several advantages - a modular profile; ease of material processing; self-assembly (if there is a desire to assemble it oneself); compactness during transportation. Everything would be fine, but the cabinet at the exit will cost as much as an airplane...

Decorative colored plugs in the profile groove.

Well, if a person can afford to buy and maintain a reef for a ton, then the profile is just a trifle for them.

It's not so bad in terms of prices. The 40x40mm profile costs $12 per meter. The fittings are also reasonably priced. Any metal with any coating will rust. Stainless steel will be more expensive or similarly priced, and the structure will be non-disassemblable, which can be a problem when bringing it into the house if it's a large aquarium. We've been using the profile for about five years, and I don't see any alternatives so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.

It is unclear how to close it with facades. To enhance it, in case the open view is unsatisfactory. In the first photo, the wooden pedestal is made over aluminum. However, in my opinion, it is easier to make a sturdier wooden pedestal (without aluminum).
