It should be PH 8.2-8.4. And what about calcium? Did you add kalkwasser?
Jessica
calcium - off the charts - in the beaten track - no problems! And what the hell is "Kalvasser"?
Antonio
In general, all my parameters are fine, I just replaced, well maybe 10%... I measured the water that was stirred up - to put it mildly, I was disappointed.
Bonnie
Calcium water is lime water. Here you can trace the relationship between calcium, pH, and kH.
Diana
They contradict each other there... and why should I pour it if there is enough calcium in the water...
Troy
No, I'm not talking about that, probably something is wrong with the buffer, that's why the pH is low. This situation is called a mistake. Many such cases are described in this thread. As far as I understand, if the water is osmotic and the salt is normal, everything should be fine. Although the salt from the Red Sea has low calcium - 350, I have to raise it in freshly prepared water. I use Aquamedic's Reef Salt (Arowana - thank you!) - everything is fine. pH 8.2, calcium 420.
Melanie
Dear marine aquarium enthusiasts! How can the pH be 7.8 if the calcium is off the charts? Look for the cause not in the salt. I am ready to openly answer all your questions.
Katie
Elementarily - calcium is off the charts, pH is low, we measure KH - low, high is a problem, if not (normal), then yes - the reason is not in the salt.
Phyllis
I wonder how the issue with the salt was resolved?
Justin
Today I will prepare water for replacement. Let's see what the test results will be for the freshly prepared water...
Sara
I made a replacement of 80 liters with pH parameters 8.1, Ca 410, and K 8. Proper preparation and testing are the key to success. If it doesn't work, change the tests or the thinking process.
Best regards.
Melissa
Did you measure right after dissolving the salt? It is recommended to aerate freshly salted water for at least a few hours. Try it, maybe the pH will rise.
Karen
After dissolving the salt (6 hours + pump + aeration), the pH level was something average between 8.0 and 8.2.
