I think it's about the spectrum.
Elizabeth1221
My spectrum is a bit poor, I agree. The diodes are: cool white, blue, blue, and violet (some call it UV, but it's still far from ultra). However, it seems to me that for corals, orange, red, and green are, figuratively speaking, irrelevant. Since the new year, I've started adding KORALLEN-ZUCHT solutions 1, 2, 3, 4 from the color enhancement line. In the first month, I used half the recommended dose, and visually it got a little better. Now I'm starting to use the full dose; we'll see. I read about the additives from Red Sea. I'm interested. Does anyone have experience with them?

nitrate and phosphate to zero, need to
Johnny
Nitrate - 3-5, phosphate - about 0, kN - 8.2, Ca - 450. There are no questions here.

There are other opinions. Without additives, but with nitrates around 5, phosphates around 0.1 SPS (small-polyped corals) also color better than at zero levels.

Report for today. Water parameters: nitrate and phosphate around 0 (not detectable with available tests), calcium 440-450, kH 8-9. Since the new year, KORALLEN-ZUCHT solutions 1, 2, 3, 4 from the color enhancement line have been used at a dose of 5 ml per 100 liters per week. The coloration of SPS has visually improved, especially the greens and reds. The Acropora blue horns, which had been in a coma for about a year, have started to grow. The other SPS are also growing well, except for the Millipora, but it is likely not suited to its location (top of the reef - too much light). Photos tomorrow. It’s interesting whether the additives had an effect or if it was due to the improved water parameters.

Photo of the overall view and individual SPS. I request comments on the condition and coloring.
Susan
The condition is good. It's hard to judge the color, the photo doesn't convey the spectrum. Perhaps a "before-and-after" photo and maybe a top view can say something.

I will try to compare how it was and how it is now: the first photos are from January 15, the second ones are from yesterday.
Chris
It has become much better. I also noticed the blue coral in the background. In photos 1-3, the changes are very noticeable on it.

Thank you! You are right, when I posted the photos, I also noticed how much the green acropora has grown in two months (photos 2 and 4). When you look at them every day, you don't notice it. I will continue to pour and will start doing a control photoshoot once a month.
Nicholas2252
Interesting topic, it's been a while since it was revived) Are you still pouring KZ?

Good afternoon! Coral Zucht is over. I switched to Poly Lab trace. I've been dosing for about a month, and so far it's fine. The water parameters have dropped (the chaetomorpha in the algae scrubber stopped growing), I'll adjust them and continue.
