Ray, create a topic about your aquarium and describe everything that has happened and is happening there, then it will be a clearer picture. Perhaps your device is not accurately measuring the salt density, which is why the parameters are elevated.

Heather

Valera, you have RC salt, did you take measurements? I added about 40-41 grams per liter, the salinity came out to 1027, the refractometer shouldn't be lying.

I always add 35-36 g of RC per liter, the corals and fish feel good. The floating salinity meter stays in the green zone.

Robin

I also have corals and the living organisms are doing great, but only one Seriatopora is not showing all its polyps. I would like to know if everyone has similar results with this salt.

Very cool parameters I would mix the bucket and try to salt it again to 35 ppm for 1 liter and see what happens. Is it also 1.027 in the aquarium? You can add some RO water to bring it to 1.025-1.026 and wait for it to stabilize. Google the triton-test for this salt: there are no such crazy parameters, but there is a warning about high pH in salting. However, their parameters fluctuate from bucket to bucket. Yours is lucky.

In the aquarium, the salinity is 36 ppt - 1.027; even if I reduce it to 35-34, the calcium levels won't change significantly. Most likely, I got a batch of salt like that, so as long as the corals are doing well, I won't take any action.

With such a reserve, you can do without balling and substitutions. Create a topic, it's interesting.

In the test instructions, the maximum value for calcium is 500 and for magnesium is 1500. Did you get excessive results? Is there a catch? (Or do I have old instructions?)

Ashley5975

I add 33-34 grams per liter, and the density in the aquarium is the same.

The calcium test can be conducted using half of all the reagents for the test to save costs, then we multiply the result by two, as stated in the instructions. For magnesium, I take the second dose of the insulin syringe with the Mg-3 reagent and pour it in to determine magnesium levels above 1500, then I pour the remainder back. The topic will be available soon. Valera, are you measuring with a refractometer or a float? In the neighboring topic, it doesn't work to achieve such density with that amount of salt.
