If moisture gets into salt, it spoils because its components start to react with each other.

I received the tetra right away in a somewhat spoiled condition, bought it at Akvaria, the salt that arrived was also a bit hardened, the pump mixed it for a day, but it still didn't dissolve completely, calcium precipitated out, even though the packaging was not damaged.

No matter how many times I measured with these tests, it was always 380 in the theater... No, it has 450. There is in the red sea.

Dissolves quickly and there is no sediment. Why would I need such salt when there isn't even 400, I'll look for another one. In general, I was wrong to criticize the manufacturer Ptero, I need to apologize.

Yesterday I bought 1 kg of Aquamedic reef salt and 0.5 kg of Tetra dry for testing, here are the readings:
Tetra KH 6 Ca=380
AM KH 10 Ca=420
Aquamedic bulk 43, Tetra 42.

Tetra salt, Kн-10 tetratest, Ca-500 tests for ptero are not designed for that salt, and Aquamedic should only be measured with their tests!!!
Melissa2062
Was the density/salinity the same?
Barbara
Do they have their own tests?
Brian7092
I haven't worked with Aquamedic salt and probably won't. I've been using Tetra salt for 5 years (only 20 kg buckets) and the latest tests showed Ca 420 ± 0.5, temperature +26 measured with two tests.

This topic needs to be deleted, it only leads to confusion. I don't even remember if the density was the same or not. By the way, Ptero is a normal test for Ca, I compared it with Salifert. I don't use Aquamedic, I just took 1 kg for testing.
