Why do you need to raise it? That's the minimum for the aquarium, and you can actually use chemicals.
Phillip9722
There is Tetra KH/RH + for raising KH in the aquarium.
Zoe7451
so you don't have to raise the book?
Tonya
I also had a 5, struggled to raise it to 6.5, and to be honest, the corals remained normal.
Chris
What did you use to lift the book?
Adam
First with soda and then with Sichyomov's carbonate.
Wendy
Did it not work with baking soda?
Laura3615
Yes

I will try to raise the pH with baking soda. For my 90-liter aquarium, I took 2.7 grams of baking soda, diluted it in 1 liter of osmosis water, and will add 250 ml every day. Am I doing everything correctly?
Jesse3979
Everything is correct, but before each addition of soda, just measure the KH to avoid overdoing it. A normal KH is 6-9. Be sure to buy a test for calcium, otherwise you might raise the KH while dropping the calcium. The chemicals you mentioned are better set aside; a 5% water change per week is sufficient.

hmmm, the situation is almost similar... the difference is that the KH hasn't dropped, it has always been low: KH 5-6, Ca 410. I hate Halimeda!!!!! it grows like crazy, everywhere. I'm raising the KH with a Sichemo reef builder, every other day, to about 6.5-7. What is the connection between low KH and the insane growth of Halimeda? Is it weak skimming/poor aeration? What are the options?
William1830
Typically, with low KH, there is a high level of Ca, and Halimeda is a calcareous green algae that is introduced into the aquarium with live rocks. Under favorable conditions, it begins to grow abundantly, requiring bright lighting, high calcium levels, magnesium, and low KH. Unfortunately, there are very few fish that eat it; some sea urchins do, but otherwise, it can only be controlled mechanically by trying to disrupt its growth point, which slows its growth.

My surgeon was eating it for a couple of days until he noticed the dry food; now there are 4 types of algae in the aquarium, none of which he eats, only the dry food and shrimp-mussels-brine shrimp. But he is not completely useless in this regard; he has something in common with strombus, the thing is he eats the top layer of sand where, you know, what likes to grow, and thus keeps it clean.

I bought an Rn meter and took measurements in the morning 7.5 and in the evening 7.7. The Kn is at the same level 5, I do 10 liters of water changes per week (aquarium 90 liters), how can I raise it?
Mary
Yes, add regular food-grade baking soda KH, you don't need much. And the pH will rise a bit. Read it, it might help.
