Did you leave? Did you close all the windows and doors? Is the pen in the closed drawer?
Bridget
That's right. The air conditioner was even programmed for 23 degrees. It sucked everything out of the air... But how to raise the temperature now?
Sarah7284
Why on earth by 23 degrees??? I wonder what the temperature was in the aquarium?
Make it so that the foam filter is saturated with air from outside. I put a tube on the filter and led it outside the cabinet; in the same way, it can be taken outside, even if only temporarily... but definitely out of the cabinet for good!
Natasha
The temperature in the aquarium is 25. I have a lid. So everything is fine with that. And thanks a lot for the idea of taking the foam outside - (I'll come and take it out). I'm curious... What happens? When air with a lot of CO2 is supplied, does the water become acidic? And when O2 is supplied, does it become alkaline?
Nicholas2252
Can you provide more details for those who are not aware? I will be leaving for two weeks soon.
James5103
That's it - I meant moisture. The wall hygrometer's needle has dropped. But, for the aquarium, it seems to be irrelevant? And the oxygen in the air doesn't increase or decrease. So, who will explain why the foam affects the pH of the water so much if the air comes from a closed room?
Marie5735
What tests are they? Maybe the tests are lying? You can gradually raise it with soda, but carefully. They say that Aquamed's soda is the best. However, as I have learned from my own experience, the KH rises sharply at first, and then the pH.
Yvette209
That's exactly the problem. I have nowhere else to raise the kH. It's already at 10. I would have raised it with a solution from the balling method. But now... my brain is boiling. The test already shows between 7.6 and 7.8. It's a TM test, I used to determine it with that too. So it's not lying. I tested the water for replacement - it shows 8.2.

What the hell, many people are having problems all at once, either the fish died, or the pH dropped, or the reef is dying. And all at the same time! Well, do a good water change, it definitely won't make things worse, and it will raise the pH.
Bonnie
Here is what you need - AquaVitro Bce. This is exactly your case:
Jeffrey6189
I can't make a large water change yet, only 10%. And that doesn't really help. I changed it, and the pH only increased by 0.1. By the way, taking the skimmer hose outside hasn't helped so far; maybe it's just that not enough time has passed. In a couple of days, the ordered osmosis system will arrive, then I can do a larger water change. However, I would like to understand what causes such a spike in pH when all other parameters are optimal. This will help avoid sudden movements in the future so that the aquarium residents don't get stressed. By the way, the corals don't show any signs of distress. They are all alive, healthy, and opening up. Thank you, I called, and I will go pick it up today.
Marie5348
It makes sense to wait 2-3 days, or maybe even longer, measure every day, it should help... if, of course, the reason was in a closed room... I know of a case where the pH was very low for a long time, around 7.4-7.6, and everyone felt fine. The main thing is to avoid sharp fluctuations, it seems to me...
Ricardo7341
I just tested it. It seems to be 7.7. It doesn't want to change by itself. I still haven't picked up the chemicals, work didn't allow it. Maybe it's for the best? I'll wait a couple more days. If it doesn't change, I'll start messing with it.
Ronald5720
I messed around with it, basically. It's all pointless. It only rises by 0.1 when replaced, then it shrinks back again. I was at Obolon and got reef evolution for stabilizing pH and kH. Supposedly, if the pH is low, it should raise it. There’s no other chemistry for pH. Nothing raises it at all. I finally bought that thing you recommended, poured in a dose to raise it by 0.2 for now. After an hour, I tested it. 7.9. It actually works!! Finally, my head will stop hurting.
Larry
I was raising with Sichev's chemistry... I raised and won't raise anymore - I've been bathing a couple of acroporas for a month, trying to stop the peeling (( 7.9 has always been until I started measuring.
Robert5335
Yes, such increases in pH can sometimes lead to unpleasant issues. A similar problem arose not long ago due to an increase in conductivity. Everything needs to be done with extreme caution. Even those that seem to be the least demanding, surprisingly, have reacted a bit, while the madreporarians are still holding on.
Jonathon8514
So how is the pH holding up after the chemistry treatment?
Ricky9405
Until today, I held at eight, today I will raise it by 0.1, in a couple of days I will raise it again to 8.2, and that will be it.
Jonathan6173
So will it always have to be poured to maintain it, or has everything already settled down?
Andrew4194
No, it doesn't seem like it will be necessary. I raised it to 8.1 on the 21st. It has been holding steady since then. I measured it this morning right after turning on the light. That's why it's 8.0. I added another 10 ml just in case. I'll do another test in the evening before turning off the light. In general, it will be clear in a couple of weeks. If the pH starts to drop, I'll need to look for the problem in the aquarium. By the way, this started (or maybe it's just a coincidence) when I installed two new circulation pumps. I installed them a day before I left.
Andrea6761
It's interesting how... My readings don't change, whether in the morning or in the evening. After adding, it became, as per the instructions, 8.1. Considering that for my volume of 10ml, that's a 0.1 increase - and it did increase. What's wrong? Why do others have one pH in the morning and a different one in the evening? Mine is always at the same level, both in the morning and in the evening.
Kimberly
You asked yourself and answered yourself. I add JBL pH stabilizer, that's why it doesn't fluctuate in the morning and evening.

Some people are so lucky; here you think about how to lower...
