Next, I glued the sample to 180 liters, following the photo instructions from Pavlik's website:

Nicole

And the aquarium made of 10 mm glass, 120x56x50 (h): Arowana sand, 1 mm fraction, 15 kg of dry stone from the Central Asia.

Jeffery

The light is still weak - only 2x40 actinic T8 and 1 regular T8 6500K. At first, I wanted to make the light myself using these types of reflectors: But it turned out that the price of the fixture is comparable to the price of the ballast + lamp, so the fixtures will be SanSan 2x54 T5.

Joseph8842

J.K. (live stones) get them out. The sooner, the better. K.G. at least 15 to start, dim the light, even like this, don't launch the shrimp and fish yet, let the aquarium mature. What's in the sump?

Lori4746

Homemade skimmer on the Aqua Medic PH 2500 Turboflotor 1000 Multi SL, initially it was like this: Something was definitely being removed, but very little if set to strong.

Cheryl

Now there is such a wonder. However, I still haven't figured out how to seal the connection between the foam and the cup.

Kenneth7331

On February 19, 10 kg of J.K. (live stones) were laid, and it all looked something like this:

Chad4168

Everything developed as usual: first the brown algae, then the cyanobacteria and the filamentous algae. Then everything disappeared, but about a month ago, a patch of cyanobacteria and a small tuft of filamentous algae reappeared. The cyanobacteria disappeared after a week, but there are already three tufts of filamentous algae. And of course, the aiptasia is reproducing faster than I can kill it with vinegar. The cheatomorpha is hardly growing (probably not enough light), but the Batrioclavia has grown almost a third of the tank.

Denise

About two weeks ago, I got two ocellaris clownfish, a sarcophyton, and an euphyllia. The euphyllia had four heads; one likely got damaged during transport and died, but the other three look quite normal. However, the sarcophyton is not growing at all, and the hermits with the shrimp keep bothering it—every time it starts to produce polyps, someone climbs on it, and it ends up bald again, but for now, it's still alive.

Thomas

Damn, such an interesting start, I was glad that everything was fine with my hands - there’s so much to craft, and then I saw the iPad "forest," and I got really upset... Did those live rocks come right away? Off-topic. How can you sell something like that? Fight against them. Search the forum - there’s a lot of information. Well, overall - welcome aboard!

Wanda666

A bunch of keels under a foot )) A good start, no rush, everything by the book But add some light...

Heather2018

Respect!!! Everything with my own hands!!!

James8887

Nothing, Helmonenko will appear and the aiptasia will be gone. By the way, the aqua is almost suitable for such fish. Just need some live rocks.

Shelby3182

yes, more, more

Leslie

There were not as many aiptasia on the rocks as in post #9; all of this accumulated somewhere over 3 months. Initially, it looked like in the photos in post #8, but I hope Helmon will fix this. These cobblestones are homemade (dolomite sand, white cement, salt 32). The stone turns out to be porous; when you pour water on it, the water seeps through the stone instead of flowing around it. Right now, Carolina has already appeared on the first laid stone. And here’s a new batch on the way.

Erica752

In the first photo, a full package: iptazia and volonya.

Randy

Yes, it's better to clean up Wallonia, but don't eat the potatoes, or they will multiply very quickly. The hypostasis should then be eaten by Helmon if the right one comes along.

Christine

, +100 , Do you measure water parameters? Is the water osmosis?

Anne

Osmotic water. I only measured kN -7 with the TM test (by the way, I compared it with a cheap test, which also showed 7) and pH - 8.1, measured with a meter at work (the cheap drop test failed here, showing 7.5). I will gradually conduct the other tests.

Craig7302

Recently, I tried to get rid of aiptasia with vinegar - here's what happened: Before After Of course, I still need to keep treating, but my main goal is to hold on until I can plant helmonas.

Andrea

The pen from three-liter jars works fine: Could it be that my clowns are making such a mess?

Erica752

be careful with vinegar... you can't poison so much at once... and if there will be helmon and wundermani, then everything will be fine... They will be, so to speak, self-sufficient.

Lindsay

That's right, euphoria is nearby, it's dangerous to mess around with vinegar, it's better to wait for the "predators." They know their business well.

Tiffany5069

It says there - for fresh water. Could this be the problem? The pen was a pleasant surprise! How is it made?

Richard

I didn't do all of this at once; I added no more than 5 ml of 9% vinegar every two days. I don't think I caused any harm, quite the opposite—the shrimp has been seen eating the marinated aiptasia, I even took a photo, but it's hard to make anything out. By the way, how do the wünderkinds get along with the regular toras? I think I read somewhere that it's not very good. As for the test, here's the instruction:

Sara

Skilled hands know no boredom...........what can I say, WELL DONE! KULIBIN!

David7773

Well done! Even the Chinese would be amazed; only a Ukrainian could come up with a penny made from cans.

Anna9752

By the way, there is another way to cut glass jars and bottles. Wrap a string or thin twine around the area where you plan to cut. Soak the twine in alcohol and set it on fire. When the flame burns around the circle, pour water on it after a while. The glass will break precisely along the heated line. I personally haven't cut an aquarium, but I made a glass from a bottle.

Robin

However, the Chinese are scratching their heads right now! We are expecting a similar Chinese counterfeit under some mega brand in a week, priced at 2k euros each. By the way, how is the foam performing?

Tiffany5069

One small detail - we fill the aquarium with water up to the level of the wrapped thread. P.S. I also made my first freshwater aquarium with two guppies in school, which I later replaced with a rubber Indian. There were such toys.

Leah

For the first three days, the skimmer produced about 800 grams of tea, and then the amount decreased to about 100 grams per day, but yesterday it filled a cup with slightly colored water—and this was without changing the settings. So we will continue to work on it. Around the same time I installed the new skimmer, the thread and cheatomorpha started to thrive (it used to grow poorly), while the volvolonia began to die off. Recently, I tested for nitrates and phosphates, so the water in the aquarium looks approximately like this: Density 1.025 SG pH - 8.0-8.5 kH - 6 (TM) NO3- less than 1 mg/l (TM) PO4- 0.1 mg/l (TM)

Andrea9320

How does the livestock look? 6KN is already the lower limit. What kind of salt are you using now?

Heather9815

As far as I can tell, the livestock looks fine. A month and a half ago, I switched to ATI Coral Ocean Plus salt. During the next water change, I will test the freshly prepared water.

Ryan

Here is the wildlife:

Vanessa

Yesterday I salted the water for the replacement and today I measured kN=6 - a bit low, I should measure calcium too but I don't have that test. In general, I poured lime water into the container, do you think it will cause any harm?

Caleb6320

In terms of fighting against aiptasias, I would vote not for Helmon later, but for several peppermints now. Vinegar and boiling water won't make a difference.

Jeffrey

I vote for a quarantine tank. We buy a rock and put it in the quarantine tank. We see what nastiness comes out of it. And there can be a lot, including Aiptasia. We get rid of everything in the quarantine tank, and only then do we place the rock in the main aquarium.

Jeremy8404

What volume of quarantine is needed to clean the stones in a 340L tank? And how long should I wait for all the aiptasia (and others) to come out?

Cheryl

In fact, peppermints work well. At one time, I had 25 kg of stones cleaned by 6 shrimp in a couple of weeks, while I couldn't get rid of them with vinegar.

Hunter1471

I brought my own electric kettle. Later it won't be so funny. The aiptasia will emerge as soon as the sediment settles, or even earlier. It's interesting to first create a problem for yourself and then heroically fight it.

Elizabeth1221

You contradict yourself. If the aiptasia come out after the quarantine, then you need someone to remove them afterwards.

Anna9752

We put the stone in quarantine. Aiptasia will immediately come out; it's just that if the water is murky, they are hard to see. Here, you can fight them. But in the main aquarium, where the fish, corals, and other invertebrates are, it will be much more difficult to fight.

Wendy8540

Wundermani and Helmon - beautiful and angry.

Angel2396

I bought an additional 10 kg of live rocks and 4 wondermans. View after another rearrangement of the stones: I also installed an auto top-off with a calcium hydroxide mixer: The top-off uses a toilet float valve, the pressure is created by an Atman PH-300 pump, and the mixer motor is a collector motor from a Canon printer, with speed adjustment via a power supply voltage and a 100-ohm rheostat. The water in the mixer is still evenly cloudy, so I need to work on the mixer a bit more.

Emily

Is this miracle worth it in the cabinet with the samovar? Are you not afraid of short circuits and corrosion?

Phyllis

I'm afraid, but it's standing in the cabinet. Today I discovered such a creature: Can anyone identify what this is?

Debra

I have one that looks the same, according to the photo; someone said it's a marble discocoma... Find it in my topic, it's somewhere almost at the very beginning—compare.

Jeffrey496

Isn't that Parazuanthuses?

John3335

Off-topic, you were rightly pointed out. Instead of acting as a lawyer in other topics and twisting my posts, you should learn to distinguish between Parazoanthus and Protopalythoa or Zoanthus.

Joseph2576

I'm not an expert in coral identification, but I bought them from Sanya specifically as Parazoanthus, and I had no reason to doubt him. Although now he sells them as Protopalythoa. The same goes for Clavularia; some call it Briareum, others Clavularia, and some Pachyclavularia.

Kevin3114

Is there a piece of briarium for sale???

Martin3206

So far, all the briarums have been booked, but a new batch is already growing.
