Hello!
The diadem is unlikely to have reached the plerogir - I also have a diadem, and it's flying fine.
Maybe there are no actinics? Corals don't do very well in pure MH.
How are the other corals doing?
Holly
Hello everyone!
If we are talking about the coral in these photos, it is not viable; this is the final stage of a dying coral. As I understand, this is what you received, and it could only survive in IDEAL conditions, and even then, it's not a guarantee.
You have a young aquarium that still needs time to mature, and a damaged coral has no chance of surviving in such conditions. I just didn't want to mention this earlier to avoid upsetting you.
James4757
it's a pity....
but hope dies last...
Shelby3182
It's true, exactly. A bit off-topic, but once we were sent fish from Sum, and we missed it; it went back, and the sender missed it too. He calls, saying to go meet it, the bus arrives at one in the morning - too lazy, for him - it doesn't matter, it's already dead - 50 hours of bouncing around, and he - hope dies last. It survived!!!! This is a plus, yellow - thank you, Batik!!!
David953
This is exactly the situation where I would be happy to be wrong. Of course, I agree that one should always hope and fight for the life of the coral until the end.
Sarah
So, there are no practical suggestions on the question "how to revive the patient?"... Is he supposed to pray or something?
Brandy1134
Oh yes!!!
How will my hedgehog react to the polyps?
Jessica5016
At night, I found this new tenant.
Who is it?
Apparently, it's a snail.
Can anyone suggest something?
Darrell7542
I think the issue is with the salt. The salt is Chinese from the Aquaristics Center, if I'm not mistaken? Pavel, how do you prepare the water for changes? Do you make brine or prepare it to the desired salinity right away? Ammonia, nitrates, nitrites at zero? What tests do you use for determination?
Daniel4967
Maybe it's the centropyge, we have a three-spot angelfish that actively harasses them, yesterday the colony was half closed. As soon as it opens up, that pest swims over and picks at something in the depths. Although if you look at the photo, they are not hidden and look somewhat shriveled.
And how is the plerogyra doing?
Curtis
Chinese salt. I will probably switch to Aquamedic.
I prepare the water with the necessary salinity right away, wait about half an hour for all the salt to dissolve - adjust if needed, and then fresh water circulates for about 6 hours with a pump of 1100 l/h + enhanced aeration.
At zero levels. The nitrate test is from Tetra, all the others are from Jabiél.
They are shriveled, while the plerogira remains unchanged...
I will try to separate the polyps from this monster.
I haven't added vodka for over a month now...
Linda
Then the salt is not the same - there's nothing else to do. Try to make a large substitution with another salt, whether it's Aquamedic or Red Sea. The reason I asked about Rapa is that people sometimes make a mistake when they use Rapa for substitutions, and naturally, everything dies over time.
Denise
Tetrovsky is nothing -
What is rapa?
Patrick4439
Here, here... what is rapa?
Leah
Rapa - have you ever been to the limans in Yevpatoria? A concentrated salt solution. We take a kilo of salt and pour it into 5 liters of water, stir it - that's rapa, and then we add a little bit to a jar, then some osmotic water or we have the concentrate (rapa) and dilute it with osmotic water to the desired density and then put it in a jar. Brrrrrrrr....
Elizabeth6302
Kendra2262
I don't know for sure, but it's something like blooming that often happens with this species (caulerpa prolia), there's nothing to worry about, usually new shoots will come from this spot, that's all.
Jennifer7578
When I had such a caulerpa, a similar substance formed in the place where you cut or tear off the rhizoid, as if sap was released and thickened in the water.
Jasmine
Everything happens for the first time
I can tell you more about Hitomorpha, but if I copy text from other websites and books, it will be plagiarism.
Your atman pumps generate a huge amount of heat, and you have a lot of them. How do you deal with the temperature? The norm is 26-27.
I understood the goals, so there was fish, there will be RIF.
Kevin8087
Can I have some links? All my pumps are Atman, plus 2 MG spotlights. Here’s how I fought for the temperature in the aquarium! The information there is a bit outdated; I already have an auto top-off system, and I hardly turn on the coolers.
Christopher8654
Posted on the site "About how I hid the pumps."
Direct link
Joseph8592
I took a few photos.
Daniel
Well, that's it, Pavlik, I bought a surgeon - goodbye caulerpa in the aquarium, we don't have it anymore.
Sarah5423
I have caulerpa in the tank, and I throw a little bit into the aquarium for them to eat. After the real pruning (I gave some caulerpa to Dnipro), the nitrate jumped up. Right now it's something between 12 and 25. I'll measure it again tomorrow... but I'm in shock...
John3165
I already have 20 too, it's just that while I'm traveling, there's no one to change the water. The galaxy started to die - I transferred it to Nemo, and it seems to be coming back to life. The euphyllia also got worse. I started pouring vodka, and in 4 days I've already added 15, I'll change the water again on Saturday.
Rick
Is it that Caulerpa is consuming nitrates so intensively?
And about the vodka - maybe its addition somehow affects the tests, causing them to stop detecting nitrates? But in reality, the amount of nitrates doesn't change.
Michele
With vodka or sugar, we add feed for the bacteria that consume or break down nitrates during their life processes. On Pavlik's website, there is a link to the original experiment. Preparations like Nitrate Minus are made based on sugar.
Gabrielle5053
If we talk about tests, then post the results of all tests and something will be visible, not just one indicator to discuss.
Most of my acquaintances have switched to salt (Reef Crystals), or at least to "Red Sea."
Reef Crystals is the best salt.
Stephanie4990
I have been using Reef Crystals for a long time - it's a good salt.
Jonathon8514
How are your zoanthids? Ours have also closed up for some reason. We changed the water, and the nitrates dropped to 10, but they still won't open.
Cheryl
Zoanthids in a semi-open state. The Centropyge bicolor is nibbling on them!!! I will be making a trap for the bicolor today and will send it to another aquarium.
Elizabeth1221
Here is, apparently, the explanation: "Do not remove too much algae at one time, as the cells of algae are ripped open when the algae is removed and the substances absorbed, such as nitrates, seep back into the water!"
Gregory
Do not remove too much seaweed at once, as the cells of the seaweed are torn open when the seaweed is removed, and substances absorbed, like nitrates, seep back into the water!
Joshua3019
I introduced the coral Sinularia...
While the questions about Trachophilia have been resolved...
it was discussed here...
Jessica5016
Finally finished setting up the lighting, both above the aquarium and on the website...
Details are here
Something seems to be wrong...
I’m waiting for feedback...
The question of whether I will remove the algae filter remains open...
Karen81
Pavlik, remove the porn from the site, it doesn't look very nice.
Karen1649
Just get rid of the porn. I logged in and stayed up until four in the morning. I should have advised you something better.
Emily3506
What exactly?
I can't remove the porn. The site was created using a website builder. The additional banners with ads are from those who gave me space for the site. I said I was ready to move, but where?!
Danny
HURRAY!!!!!!!
I found a new place for the website...
I think I will manage to move in 3-4 nights!!!
Jeffrey6189
A lighter (ISU) and a capacitor are completely different things, although they look similar. I understand that you don't have capacitors? It would be better to install them for reactive power compensation. (If you have an electronic electricity meter, this will be very noticeable.) It's better to use German ISUs rated for 70-400W (the one on the second light fixture).
Catherine6534
HURRAY!!!!!
MY WEBSITE HAS MOVED!!!!
Barbara8192
I added a bit using the "Vodka" method...
Kenneth7210
Here, the process of adding alcohol (theory and practice) is described quite well. I liked it.
Brandi
Solution to the problem of overflow of osmotic water from the tank:
Rita
A new page "Observations (part 2)" and the article "Algae Filter or a Bomb in the Aquarium" have been added.
Phillip9722
There is indeed a problem with the caulerpa. However, the refugium working out of phase with the light in the main aquarium stabilizes the pH quite well and serves as a place where various pods breed. The question remains in the proper selection of algae.
John3335
Here is a photo of the condition of my aquarium on November 7.
Jessica5016
More and more beautiful!
Darrell5975
Pasha, you have a nice aquarium; my first marine one was much worse.)))
Robert
Pavlik is a good DIYer.
And who bought such a luxurious actinia? I can't get one for myself.
Andrew4194
Here is who is interested in the "Test Suitcase"
Natalie
In Bereznyaki. I got it on the second day after delivery, so I snagged such a beauty. I don't plan to get more actinies for the aquarium, I already have 4 types. If I come across any, I might buy them, but there's a problem with delivery.
Tasha
A couple of questions!
1. There are a lot of worms appearing EVERYWHERE!!! Even inside the foam! What are these worms? Can I deal with them? Is it harmful? What can you say about them - I'm generally interested in all the information!!! (photo attached)
2. The sponge in the foam and the pumps have started to be covered with some kind of slime (photo attached). What is causing this? This problem started appearing after I bought a large anemone. Am I right in suspecting this? How can I fight it? I'm interested in the experience of marine enthusiasts.
Susan
I found answers about the worms, and AKVALOGO suggested that they are harmless!
What do you say about the slime on the pumps? HELP!
Rodney
Are the sponges on the pumps working? The foam filter is not effectively removing organic matter. There is a buildup of dead and not-so-dead animals and their remains in the sponges, and naturally, everything is being sucked into the pumps. Remove the sponges! Install a more powerful foam filter!
Sara
There are no sponges in the aquarium and sump (except for the one on the foam filter). I will modernize the foam filter (I have a good idea).
Brandy
Hello everyone!
Recently, I replaced the return pump from 3000 l/h to 4000 l/h.
Small bubbles started appearing in the main aquarium (but that's not a problem, today I'll finish the sump, creating a separate section for the return pump and installing bubble traps).
But!!! For some reason, the skimmer stopped producing foam!!!
Today, I also planned to upgrade the skimmer by adding a third pump, creating a circular flow of bubbles inside the pump. But it still doesn't work with these two!!! Maybe it's an unnecessary upgrade?
What do you suggest...
I will post the results on the website...
Todd
The pump is new, in oil, it needed to be thoroughly cleaned.
Robert5335
The pump has been rinsed, you didn't understand. This is a return pump (pumping water from the sump to the aquarium) and it cannot affect the operation of the skimmer. However, by increasing the volume of water that passes through the sump per unit of time, it is possible that all the organic matter has been removed by the skimmer... which is why the skimmer is hardly producing any foam!
Heather9815
Hello, Pavel!
Most likely, it is indeed the pump that is to blame, even though you have cleaned it. Introducing a new item into the aquarium almost always reduces foam production, and it doesn't matter that this is a return pump; the water in the aquarium is the same. However, this will pass soon, and the foam separator will work as it did before.
Kenneth2761
Added to the site "Another modernization of the pen holder and more"
Christopher4125
I haven't replied in a while. I didn't see the message.
It turned out cool. I should take note of it...
Denise
I couldn't find the Calvasser mixer and the automatic water refill system on the website.
Brianna
Yes, I haven't posted it... Then I'll post the mixer in a week... I'm reworking the auto-fill, it will be like Basil's.
Kimberly
The riddles of calcium hydroxide!!!
It is not insoluble - it dissociates quite well in the first step, and even somewhat in the second.
The film on the surface is calcium carbonate (like in caves). It reacts with atmospheric CO2 and forms a thin film.
Rita
The clowns have postponed the caviar!!!
Photos and comments
Below is a small video file.
Jonathon8514
Congratulations!!!
Here I posted some interesting information about breeding clowns:
Rodney
Congratulations, Pavlik!!! Now the focus is entirely on preserving the offspring!!!!!
Christopher8654
No... it won't work... I'm not ready... I'll prepare for the next laying...
And the eggs are growing...
Travis572
Everyone says it won't work, but it turns out that "conscience" won't allow it - you'll have to. Good luck!
Jessica6754
Pavel has a correct perspective; without prior preparation, nothing will work out, and adventure doesn't pay off here, proven by personal experience... I think you have seen it, but just in case, I am providing a link to an excellent article by Wolfgang May on breeding clowns:
Deborah2682
In my personal experience, growing rotifers without phytoplankton is a waste of nerves, time, and resources. I did receive a tank from the USA with "artificial rotifers for raising marine fish larvae," but I haven't tried it yet...
Lisa
Where can I buy or order it?
Joseph1346
There are absolutely cosmic things. But they only ship within the States, so you need your own person in the enemy camp.
Katie5500
On Sunday night (August 5), the larvae finally left the clutch... in the morning on Monday, the stone was clean. Today I am shocked again. The clowns have laid eggs again - the clutch is much larger!!!
Adrienne
There are such people - I need to - I will provide the contacts.
Jennifer7578
I was at Berezniaky. I bought fish.
Result:
1. All the fish died (both the new ones and those that were already in the aquarium).
2. There is not only crypt in the aquarium but also some other disease.
3. I won't add fish to the aquarium for six months to a year, that's for sure.
4. I'm switching to soft corals.
Richard
I bought fish in Berezniaky twice. The first time only the centropyge died, but Igor convinced me not to take it. The second time, just 10 days ago, I selected 2 anemones, 1 clownfish, 1 cerianthus, 1 sarcophyton, 1 antias, 1 zankl, and 1 clavularia over the phone with the help of a friend. Everything arrived alive, except for the clavularia, which came with a smell.
When I introduce new livestock, I turn on the UV light for 36W for about 10 days. Before that, I bought a winged fish, and a crypt appeared on the hepatitus and the winged fish. It disappeared after a week.
To have everything die, you really have to try hard.
Jeanne
UV - worked.
added vitamins to the feed (about three types of mixtures).
water changes were not daily.
but, but...
Stephen5841
I sympathize.... I also need to come up with something about clowns.... They lay down like clockwork.. I come in - and the laying is already looking at me.
Justin9867
Hello everyone...
The aquarium has been dismantled for a long time... only live rocks are left... a complete overhaul is planned (metal frame, etc.).
Colin1418
Maria6659
Oh, and the approach is completely different, and the aquarium has become more beautiful. Where has the Atman foam gone?
Helen
And the decoration behind the aquarium is super!!! The red card harmoniously blends with the blue of the water. Dear Pavlik, please stick something prettier there, because the aquarium is not just about what’s inside.
Joshua9340
This is a Mobile Communication Store.
What is behind the aquarium will be removed.
The Penik Atman has gone down in history as tested and rated "garbage."
Michelle13
The aquarium turned out cool, but just remove the pump on the right; it spoils the view.
Erica752
There will also be a slide made of J.K. (living stones) added there, and the pump will be covered as well.
Gregory9432
Isn't it easier to just buy a ready-made refrigerator and forget about it? And there's no need for a rock on the right; make it with one large rock on the left instead, leave the rest for fish to swim. The aquarium is small anyway, so it's better to add more stones on the left and that's it. Hang the pumps behind the overflow, and you can put different colorful fish in there. Moreover, it's decorative, so it should look nice, not be a complicated biosystem with a bunch of creatures hiding in the rocks.
Ryan7682
Hooray!!!!!
Today I received a real HETOMORPH from Minsk!!!
Photos coming a bit later (the camera is gone until September 1st).
Jeremy8404
Hello!
I marked the grass for the next mowing.
Matthew1280
Oh! But I have something else swimming in the aquarium under the guise of a heteromorph. Does it have several varieties? Enlighten me!
Michael3221
There is no hetemorph for all ages... you seem to have something else... let's see a photo, and tell me where you got it...
Shawn
Yes, Pavel, congratulations!! It's HER - Hethomorpha!!! I'm first in line for the fragment!!!
Joshua9847
I will send it on Friday. I can send it to you too. Give me your phone number.
Nicholas5194
I can't take a photo for now. I received this plant as a gift from Rey Tkacha. And, in general, I think I named it a hetamorph myself.
P.S. Pavlik, put me on the list for a "frag" of the hetamorph - maybe it will at least grow in my aquarium. (My "morph" and caulerpa refuse to grow for some reason.)
Michelle9986
New direct Kylibin ))
Wendy8540
I think the right way to get phytoplankton is to defrost artemia and put it in a 2-liter bottle with aeration. This topic is described somewhere. There won't be any benefit from Tropic Marin - it will only spoil the water.
Reginald5073
Tropic Marin phytoplankton is basically just finely ground algae, and that's all. It has little benefit, unless you use a lot of it, then the walls of the aquarium quickly become covered, and if you clean those walls, it will look somewhat like phytoplankton, but it's still not real phytoplankton.
Alexander
Thank you, guys... Today I will brew 5 liters of Artemia.
Wendy
Pasha, read this:
Courtney
But all the DEAD. So not as detailed as I would like. Find out the details from Rey Ospina (Platax) - he raised it.
Cheryl9296
Why? What are the problems, mistakes?
John5528
Here:
I have already talked about my experience...
The main mistake is the lack of preparation of the feed base for growing fry...
Steven7574
How to determine which culture? Can I draw it by hand? I'll try to look at it through a children's microscope.
Justin
Robert1845
And here is the introduction of MA-Panacea. I got it for testing from Yura Khrušč, who received a couple of bottles from Moscow.
The Panacea was added at 13:30, and at 18:00 I will take a photo of the aquarium and post it on the website... although I think the results will need to be waited for until the next morning.
John828
Pasha, don't take it the wrong way, but what are you expecting from a "panacea"? There will be no miracle. The corals won't come back to life and the substrate won't be populated. TIME - that's the main "panacea." In a year or a year and a half, you'll have a beautiful marine aquarium that doesn't need any "panacea."
Maria6659
According to the second photo, the Plerogira has inflated specifically for feeding, which is easy to achieve. We take sugar + coral and fish food CyclopEeze + fresh oysters, blend everything in a mixer, and drip it in; the effect will be the same, and everything will inflate and become huge, plus the parameters won't change since the skimmer removes everything within an hour, even if you add a liter of the mixture.
Chemistry is always chemistry, but for starting a marine aquarium (M.A.) and for beginners, it can be a panacea; this might be just what you need! You can bypass a lot of problems and theories at once and achieve stable conditions, and then you can grow and develop further. I think it will be wonderful in freshwater as well.
Yvette209
PEOPLE!!!
Help me get some zooplankton.
I couldn't find it from the skim.
Carrie1606
In the skimmate, there are no zooplankton, in the skimmate, there are phytoplankton. Ask for brackish water rotifers at the pharmacies in the city.
Brenda
pardon ... both phyto and zoo are needed
.. The extract from artemia - the water became cloudy...
then I added 5 ml of skimate to 20 liters - the water became clear by morning
Curtis9143
One of the problems of cultivating phytoplankton is to ensure that zooplankton does not get into it. ONE rotifer that enters the phytobreeder can destroy the culture in a few days. (Naturally, after reproducing)
Amber
spawning of clowns
P.S. Respect to Vitalik!
Scott8536
It turned out nice, I like it, well done Pasha.
Christopher1252
Hello everyone!
The long-awaited upgrade:
I installed a new skimmer. I made it. IT'S AWESOME! The Aquamedic shorts can be thrown in the trash, but first, kick them with the words "how did my aquarium survive with you."
Below are some photos.
You can download the video here and see how it works live!
Jose
Lindsey3362
This model is already better than the one that was in testing! The cone is cool!!! There probably aren't any turbulences in it anymore?!
Debra8438
Here it is! We're watching the video. By the way, I forgot to mention that this is a photo from the first hour of work.
Nicole
It's nice, but one thing: if it were at your home, because it's public, I know many sailors, but they don't keep aquariums at home because it's expensive. However, in offices, stores, and other establishments, it's easy to throw in someone else's green ones into the reef, but they boast that it's theirs.
Ryan2281
Hello everyone
A day has passed... the foam level in the cone has risen...
let's watch the video
Erin2730
It's fine, it's being worked on. The foam volume has increased, but the level has dropped.
Jerry
In the opposite situation, it's more difficult; at home, everything is under control, but there, anything can happen.
Jason
Quote: "First of all, respect to the forum member who has this beauty at home, who denied himself many things in vacations and entertainment, not buying himself anything, but investing everything in creating the reef. That is strength, not in someone else's money and someone else's aquariums."
Well, as far as I understand, this is Pavlik's personal reef.
P.S. I do not agree with saving on vacations and entertainment, even though I am a fan of the reef. It’s better to create an aquarium that is proportionate to your income, so that its maintenance does not become a financial burden.
Todd8452
This photo is clearly not of a residential apartment, and a child will understand that. With respect to you and your Riff, you are not poor, meaning you don't live on 2000 UAH a month. I said that my respect goes to those people who have no savings and live earning 1800 UAH a month at a factory, saving on everything for their sea; these are the fans, these are the cool ones. I know such people, and I also know the stingy ones, but that's a different topic.
Susan9583
I'm kind of doing that right now. Well, not 700 liters, but 100x60x70 plus a sump. Have you built a lot of reefs with someone else's money? I would like to see some photos.
Amy
I am not a sailor, and unfortunately, I don't have the money to set up a reef for myself, but I have friends who are enthusiasts of marine aquaristics, and I have seen the sea at their homes; it is powerful, not in offices, saunas, or clubs, but at home, and they have created it over the years because there isn't enough money to quickly buy everything and set it up. I think you will showcase your reef; I understand you are a sailor.
Laura3615
What right do you have to sort aquarists
Your reef, someone else's...
You have neither your own nor someone else's
Your own didn't work out, and that's fine, but they will ask about someone else's, both the deadlines and the quality, and they can ask in such a way that you will move into a cardboard box with your whole family.
Anthony7814
If you don't believe me, at least believe him; he described the situation in general terms in his post. I will show my aquarium; you can read here how it all starts.
Karen1649
The sea originally stood in my parents' three-room apartment, where I lived... But then I moved with my family to a new apartment, and I transferred the aquarium to the "Modilnaya Svyaz" store (in the city center, where people come and go, and since I make a living from creating and maintaining aquasystems, there's no better advertising). Then came the crisis, the store closed, and the aquarium moved again... to a notary office. Also in the center, also with many people...
P.S. When I have my own apartment or house, I will definitely take it back...
Leonard
First of all, don't address me informally; I am not your friend or peer. As you write about poor service (you'll move into a cardboard box with your whole family), you can indeed end up in a box for rudeness, and you should read the posts more carefully. My advice to you is not to be rude to people.
Katie4842
Pavel, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to reproach or offend you. Your Riff class is something I can't even compare to, and I believe everything will be fine for you. And there will be more than one body of water added to this. Good luck.
Michael826
What's the fuss about, I don't get it...
Janet5447
Well, it's nothing, just spammed...
