Dear aquarists, does anyone have experience keeping Camposcia retusa (the decorator)? There is little information on the internet; I found out that it feeds on fan worms and it is not advisable to keep it with surgeonfish, as they tend to nibble on all the decorations, causing it great discomfort. There is no information on cohabitation with other fish.

held a few pieces. Wonderful animals. There is just one catch. They need to hide well during molting because they have to transfer all the decorations from the old shell to the new one, and that takes time.

I read an article based on the recommendation of another forum member. As an option, it’s possible that during capture or even transportation, they were filled with chemicals for reversible paralysis. The fact that it was brought in not long ago was known (it will serve as a lesson). Perhaps all the chemicals have already worn off. The crab was quite active, moving around every day, climbing on rocks, and foraging well. I have a completely harmless anemone crab in another aquarium. It devoured more than 50% of my euphyllia. As it turned out, even small and beneficial emerald crabs can nibble on corals at night; this information and video were taken from YouTube.
