I accidentally saw it in my aquarium at night... I haven't seen it since, but it probably lives... I can't say how necessary it is or not; if I could catch it, I would probably throw it away...

Good afternoon! After six months of having the aquarium, I also saw such a wonder at night, but the visible part is only about 10 cm. I searched for pictures on the internet - it's either a polychaete or a fireworm (or are they actually the same thing?). It seems like the creature is harmless and cleans up the leftover food from the other inhabitants.

Yes, I have more than two dozen of them in my 30-liter tank. They are useful inhabitants and peaceful - they do not harm the corals and do not bother the clownfish.

This link contains an excellent catalog of worms, both harmful and beneficial. The catalog is generously enriched with macro photos and descriptions. Unfortunately, it is in English. But Yandex translates easily.

Thank you! I'm glad I didn't start fishing them out right away. But recently I was moving small stones - almost under each one, those scary creatures tried to scare me. So now there are plenty of useful things in the aquarium!
