Maybe they simply lack food? That's why they are searching all over the aquarium.

It would be nice to have a photo of the aquarium and tell a little about it and its inhabitants.

Kathy

In the aquarium, there are 2 ocellaris clownfish, 3 trochus snails, a surgeonfish, an algae-eating dog, a hermit crab, a tor shrimp, and wondermanis, xenias, zoanthids, parasitic zoanthids, 2 rodactis, ricordeas, briarium, and tubastrea. One strombus is actively crawling on the sand and eating something, while the other one is not visible. After the first disappearance, the strombus had a very light shell (although it used to be very bright) and seemed to be polished. I concluded that it had been in the sand all this time. The quality of the photo is poor, but this is all I have for now.

No one pays attention to them, no one hunts them, especially the wunderkind, the hermit? If there is a hunt for them and they are disturbed, they will always hide in the sand, especially if they have been injured, even if it is minor.

Helen

It seems not! The hermit crab and the strombus were introduced to the aquarium a few days apart. They always lived peacefully. There were times when the hermit crab would approach the strombus, but the strombus would push him away and the hermit crab would retreat far... But I don't think it was an attack on his part. By the way, do wonder shells also hunt strombus????
