I started a tank. I bought 4 of them right away. They disappeared somewhere within a few days. Maybe the aiptasia ate them, or maybe the toras (lysmata). They are too small shrimp for my aquarium.

Todd

Can the turtles eat them?

Heather2018

You pull out the stone, take a syringe, fill it with boiling water, and insert the needle right into the heart. Cheap and cheerful. Good luck!

Kristen1161

No one will naturally remove the stones; otherwise, it would be easier to drain the water from the aquarium. The question about biological destruction—maybe someone still eats them.

Tasha

Vurdemani are eaten, but slowly, and a lot of shrimp is needed. It is not suitable as a means of control. I see them 8 times a month, if I don't turn over the stones.

Steven7574

+1, they can act as "prevention," but not as a "means" to combat aiptasia. They eat, but to clean the tank, you need to keep a herd. And to prevent aiptasia from appearing, 2-3 individuals are enough.

Laura4892

So can I take a risk and try 2 pieces? I don't think it will get worse.

David4968

That's for sure.

Julie3950

I have 11 pieces per ton with some change.. for now they are hiding in the rocks, and the aiptasia don't bother them at all..((

Maria6659

It's like what I had with planarians. There are both pajamas and a tangerine—until I started siphoning, they didn't disappear.

Laura9093

I confirm that these shrimp are ineffective, and they are nocturnal too!

Jose

I had about 5 large and 5 medium aphids, I did as MAX advised, filled a syringe with boiling water and poured it on the aphids from the needle, they immediately hide in small crevices, so I sprayed boiling water into those crevices with the needle... It's been 2 days, and not a single aphid is visible so far... indeed... cheap and effective.

Adam4310

I did that too, even deleted some, but they still come back after a while, those resilient pests!

James5103

What kind of syringe did you take, a regular plastic one with a thin needle, or something special? Someone here recently sold those shrimp and emphasized that they eat aiptasia.

Denise

Off-topic, how many degrees did you have in the syringe when you were scalding the aiptasia? Probably around 800 degrees...

Cheyenne2747

a regular syringe with a thin needle for 2 cubic centimeters

Zachary

Offtopic Wow, that's powerful...

Lauren

I have a similar story, I bought three, one was with eggs. In the morning, before turning on the main light, I saw the one with eggs crawling, and half an hour later, it was already dead, while the bloody one was picking at the eggs. I didn't see the other two anymore. Could Lysa debelius have killed all the woodermani?

Kyle

It's quite possible that she could have; I dealt with Debelius and the boxer in half an hour.

Nicole263

It seems that your debelius are bloodthirsty; at one time I kept 4 species of shrimp at the same time, and my debelius are the most peaceful, while the most aggressive are the camels. Well, I guess it also depends on their character!
