Euphilia is quite a complex coral. It requires good water quality, meaning a mature aquarium, and gentle flow. It may have been affected by bacteria, so try soaking it in Lugol's solution. To improve growth, you can provide feedings of zooplankton or very finely chopped seafood. The water pH should be between 8.10 and 8.40. Calcium levels are normal, but you need to add strontium and trace elements.

Odessa, I had a similar experience but with a different one, I lost one - I didn't have time to understand what was happening. I saved the second one (like in your photo) - bathing in Lugol's solution, then in TM Coral Cure (seems like the same iodine), then I just placed it in a good current (not directly under the pump, but in a good flow of water). What specifically helped or any of the above - it's like reading tea leaves.

Lugol's solution and TM Coral Cure are the same. With a good flow, you can blow temporarily; it prefers a weak current. If I turn off the pumps for even 20 minutes, the euphyllias swell to twice their size. TM Coral Cure should be kept as the main first aid kit for the aquarium.

Euphyllia do not tolerate strong water currents well; it stresses them. The flow should be laminar, that is, weak or moderate. Otherwise, it may happen that the coral starts to die from constant stress. Moreover, it has been repeatedly noted that they prefer established aquariums with stable water parameters and suitable lighting.

There was the same problem. I posted a bunch of photos on the forum. I tried to bathe it in the tank and placed it between rocks to avoid the current... nothing helped. It lived for a month and then it was gone... first one cap, then the second one. They told me on the forum that Euphyllia is very sensitive to damage during transportation.

Let me express the following opinion - a new place of residence is very different from the previous one. Responsible sellers send corals attached to a piece of foam.

Amber1273

It depends on luck; I planted two different ones in a nearly newly started aquarium, and everything was fine.

Hello, Volodya, welcome to our harbor! And not only that. If they are caught from their natural environment, and nearby fish and other animals are caught using toxic substances, it goes without saying that not only euphyllias end up in the trash for our brother. And this can have an impact since it is an LPS coral; hydrochemistry is the top priority for it. Lucky one...

Rachael

Guru, I don't know... Euphyllia has been in a good flow for almost a year - it's growing and thriving... I tried rearranging it, but it seems to deflate... Maybe everyone has a different understanding of the strength of the flow.

Gabriel

The euphyllia came from me.. I believe it was packed properly. If not, I will accept feedback for the future. It was in the aquarium for over six months.. A week before shipping, I observed it twice as carefully, and there were no complaints. I don't know the reason. The only thing is that there were 2 euphyllia of this type that I sent.

Euphilia also gradually gets used to different conditions in the aquarium. As they say, "If you want to live, you will adapt."

Javier5186

And the first one died, as far as I remember? If the second euphyllia is already dying, then the cause needs to be sought either in the way to it (i.e., packaging) or something is not matching with it.

Daniel8015

That's right. The packaging is a thermal box made of cardboard + 2 cm of foam, with one going in a small gray bag half-filled with water and 2-3 cm of air when tied. 2) The packaging is identical, but the bag is larger. 1 was tied to the airtight bag with a rubber band = it was upside down.

Mary

There are no complaints about the packaging and Maxim; I think something in my aquarium is not suitable for this species.

Dana4701

Give the euphyllia to another tank. Anything can happen... My anemones don't survive. Already 3 in the toilet.

Joseph591

Your aquarium is too unstable for euphyllias. Everything is covered in blue-green algae and pyridine.

David

How is your Euphilia?

Stephen5857

I transferred it to another aquarium - it seems to be recovering.
