So, has the problem matured or not yet? Should I rearrange the caulastrea? The anemone has been sitting there for the third day (I changed the current a bit). It has puffed up. I haven't fed it yet.

Jacqueline5976

You know, the quadricolor (bubble anemone) can be described as kind compared to, for example, Heteractis magnifica, which is more complex to care for and capricious in every way. If, God forbid, it gets on a tube anemone and covers it with its tentacles, that's the end. It moves like a tank, not caring if it has decided to go for it. However, the bubble anemone will navigate around the rocks and won't charge through, although there are exceptions, but they are rare.

Throw away the caluastria))) Anemone is an animal, much more attractive than the lps.)) Well, I'm just saying - if we're serious, I think the caluastria will die from the contact - and then let me know who won if anything.

No, I’d rather rearrange it.

The people, I had a magnifica sitting for a few days, and then it got stuck in the pump. However, only a little bit got through the grate. When removing it from the pump, the tissues of the anemone were damaged (the grate has a 1 cm gap). The water in the aquarium became slightly cloudy. What should be done?

Maria6659

Yarik, you can hold the bubble calmly. I had two cases when anemones got into the pumps (bubbles) and were torn apart, but the aquarium hardly felt it. To prevent it from traveling, it needs to be "properly" planted. For this, a stone with a gap or indentation of 3-5 cm is necessary, preferably on the side. You place the anemone there, and as a rule, it doesn't travel anymore. They really like to hide in that gap if something is wrong...

If the filter is working properly, it will remove the cloudy stuff. You can add carbon to the system. After such stress, the actinia will spit for a few days and periodically cloud the water.

I took a closer look; the damage is not on the leg, but at the point where the leg connects to the mantle (the part where the tentacles are). And about a dozen tentacles were taken off. And why didn't I put on protection on the Vortex...

What opinions do people have about Crispa and Molu? They are characterized as sand-stone anemones, meaning they don't wander much... Or is a mat better? It definitely stays in the sand-L.R. (live rocks) zone and doesn't wander like the other anemones.

Amanda

The mats also wander on the sand and can sit on the glass.

Crispa sat on the stone where I placed her at a medium level for a couple of days. Then she moved to a higher one and stayed there for a week. After that, she descended and buried herself in the sand. She has been sitting like that for about two weeks now. She moves in the sand within a radius of 10 cm back and forth, but doesn't crawl further. For the past four days, she hasn't moved. She burned the tubastrea - the polyps retracted. She started to melt the favia. Both acanthastrea shrank, but were not harmed, although their tentacles were definitely lying on them for half a day. The bubble coral's tentacles reach the caulastrea - I haven't seen any significant harm so far.

What light and current?

Allison

The 20000K MH 150W light was on until yesterday. And there are 2 T5 actinics plus. I replaced the MH with a 14000K. The current flows above it. From that, I later realized, it was moving around. It was getting caught in the eddies. It didn't particularly like that. Then it settled on the sand under the pump. There will be about 20 centimeters to the pump. The pump was slightly tilted down, and the actinic was a bit disturbed. It crawled around while on the sand, but not far. About 4 days ago, I leveled the pump strictly horizontally, and it calmed down. There was a dead zone created there. And it inflated about one and a half times bigger. It looks for places where there is no current. Absolutely none.

By the way, has anyone shared the crispa?

Todd

No, and it's unlikely that anyone has experienced this, to be honest. But I can say that Crisp has ruined other things, and I can also say that after living for 3-5 months, it died, but I don't know anyone who has lived for two years, and probably won't find out.

Mariah

By the way, I have never seen an anemone on the slope of the reef. Usually, they live on a small, isolated live rock that lies on the sand at the bottom. At depths of 1 meter, 5, and 10. Interestingly, when an anemone divides, the second half is often found 10-20 cm away from the other on the same rock, and each of them has a pair of clownfish sitting in it.
