If the store sells it, the employees should know about the animal they are selling... You must be very lazy if you didn't even try to find information about this animal online.

I found another very interesting discussion about horseshoe crabs.

When we received and put it into the overgrown aquarium, we couldn't get enough of it - it plowed through all the sand like a combine harvester. After gorging for a couple of days, this catfish began to burrow into the sand and could disappear for several weeks. Then, after molting, it would start its work as a harvester again. Essentially, this is its nature, and its diet is appropriate, of course excluding hunting for fish. It eats both Artemia and shrimp (mussels and lean sea fish can also be included in the diet).

In principle, can the horseshoe crab easily replace the strombus?

At first, I thought that the sand was all dug up, with an original appearance, but unfortunately, after observing the horseshoe crabs, one can emphasize that they not only plow the sand but also feed on the growths. The horseshoe crab simply weeds it out in search of food, primarily being a detritivore in nature. The horseshoe crab, in itself, is a remarkable creature, and one should not think about whether it can replace anyone.

I bought a mantis shrimp!!! It's a really cool creature! It's active only from 7 AM to 12 PM. After that, it buries itself in the sand and doesn't come out until the next morning. However, it has stirred up all the sand, getting rid of various algae on the sand... And it replaced the strombus snails!! In the Central Asia, I was told that I need to feed it shrimp taken from the aquarium... But what if it raises the artemia that will remain on the sand by itself?

Hello, I'm curious how the horseshoe crab is doing? Maybe someone is interested.

It's fine, it rarely surfaces, it fights with the moray eel...
