Dear, I have the same issue. They said something like - you need to feed them... but I don't think that's the main thing. They also disappear. Unfortunately, I can't give any advice. I'm curious myself...

Jerry

Do you have shrimp in your aquarium?

Joseph8842

Hello, as written in the book "Ova," Catalaphyllia Jardinei belongs to quite aggressive species, so it might have an impact, although I'm not entirely sure myself. Tomorrow, I will meet with someone at the small market and discuss this topic with him; he has over 10 years of experience in marine life, while I am still a student who has been interested in this for 7 months with his great help. If you're interested, feel free to check my personal messages and look at my albums. There are few of us in Zaporizhzhia who are passionate about this, and we should try to connect and communicate; it will be easier and more interesting. My albums and my friend's.

Apparently, someone is eating them... what kind of population is in the aquarium? However, it's not a fact that this is just a species that doesn't thrive in an aquarium... yet I wouldn't call parazoonthuses "difficult"... I have them living and growing in my aquarium, and they lived in terrible conditions (nitrate around 10). Food: there was none, sometimes someone among them caught frozen artemia. Photo of the colony.

I will allow myself to respond for WAY-X (to speed up the exchange of information). There are no shrimp, the aquarium is fresh (could it be that? Although what is "that"?), nitrates are at zero. I'm scratching my head about it. I've kept it away from the catfish, we'll see. In my aquariums, catfish sit next to other creatures without consequences, although there are no parazoanthids next to them. Hello to Anatoly!

Thank you to everyone who responded, I've already moved it to the shade, but can hermit crabs not dine on them??? I looked at your aquarium and your friend's, it's beautiful; mine is still in progress (and probably not a quick one), for now, just bumps, but where would we be without them!

Gabriel

Hi Yarik, I passed your greetings to Anatoly, and he sends his regards to you as well. He says it would be good to meet and talk about maritime topics, but we can arrange that somehow. We are at the small one on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Linda

I had the same colony of parazoanthids as you do, until a hepatodactyl laid its eyes on them. It nibbled them down to just a few polyps... Maybe someone will nibble on yours too?

Charles894

It is quite possible that no one has noticed yet!

Barbara

I have parazoanthids living almost in the flow pump and under the metal halide lamp at the very surface, reproducing with great vigor. BUT! Occasionally, someone thins them out at night. There are no camels in the aquarium anymore. I suspect it's the ov. Maybe you have something similar.
