I would bite it off and remove it to save the other heads. Sometimes you have to sacrifice the small to preserve the rest.

I soaked it in Lugol's solution, the other heads are fine, but this one seems to be done for, I'll cut it off tomorrow.

What kind of trouble do you have, one thing after another, we need to find the cause.
Nicholas
Maybe the topic is a bit old, but what is that on the sand? Not cyan?

it is also

I think that cyanobacteria are harmful, or the conditions that stimulate their growth are detrimental. When it was rampant, my umbrellas and sinularia started to die, and the anemone Malu stopped eating and became very weak. But when the cyanobacteria disappeared, the dying process stopped! The anemone recovered very quickly. This is my theory, but I believe that cyanobacteria may be affecting the water, or the conditions that promote them are not very favorable for corals. Euphyllia is much more sensitive than umbrellas.
Fight against cyanobacteria in any case, but not with red slime; instead, look for the cause of its occurrence.

I suspect the reason, it's time to change the lamps. The euphyllia feels fine, two heads are completely unharmed, and the third has lost 90% of its tissue, but 10% is still left, which is a relief. Among the measures I took were three baths with Lugol's solution for 15-20 minutes each.

Euphilia is cured, and about 5-10% of the affected head was saved. I think if I had noticed earlier, I could have saved a much larger part. The other two heads feel even better after the treatment.

It's good that everything turned out with minor losses; there are cases that are worse, and you have to bite off and discard the affected heads to avoid infecting the others.

Now the problem is different; the remaining head is swelling so much that light doesn't reach the second head or the affected one. I think I should separate them.

Good day!!! I have euphyllia hammer, the same problem, with one head, but no cyan. I broke it off from the main body and am currently observing it, but the tentacles are deflated and not opening. I am also thinking of soaking it in Lugol's solution. I ask for advice on how to do this correctly???? Thank you in advance!!!

Prepare Lugol's solution, add seawater until the solution acquires a yellowish color, place euphyllia for 15 minutes, I bathed it twice a day.

I bought Lugol's solution, 15 drops per 1 liter of water and for 15 minutes. I had a gray-brown coating that went away after rinsing. I will keep observing.

Where did you buy it? I prepared it myself, I took iodine in granules from the pharmacy (not every pharmacy has it and they will sell it to you) ground it into powder and mixed it with potassium iodide (the regular iodide that we add to aquariums).
