I noticed similar behavior today in my Zebrasoma flavescens. It "jumps" in the water, away from the rocks, meaning it's clearly not rubbing against anything. It constantly approaches the wrasse - swims up to it and turns sideways... What could this mean? Or is it just one of those days when the zebra is acting strange?!

Offtopic. And on the aquarium with spirulina - look, there's such a thing in the composition - Cánnabis? What % is it?
And what feed was used? Minced meat, bloodworms, tubifex?
Ryan1989
Dry food, in flakes. I've been using it for about two months now. Sometimes frozen cyclops, shrimp, squid, phytoplankton. In any case, the food hasn't changed in the last two months.
P.S. The joke about cannabis is funny.

Once upon a time, something similar happened with Acanthurus lineatus. For about a week. Then I found it at the bottom... This can happen if the fish is poisoned with cyanide. Death can occur 2-3 months after purchase. But there can also be reasons of an invasive nature or improper feeding.

Yes, it's a pity for the animal. Since last summer, I've been feeding it mostly dry food... sometimes it got some bloodworms from Helmon... maybe that harmed it.

Surgeons need to be fed live plant food as often as possible. Without it, they won't last long. In nature, their main diet consists of algae. No dry food, even with spirulina, can replace it. I would generally advise against giving them bloodworms, tubifex, etc., or to give them as rarely and in small amounts as possible, as these are also not suitable foods for surgeons.

Can a nori be a substitute? Every day they eat the leaves... and the meat, only if it falls apart is it obtained, otherwise it's picked out with tweezers...

Here is Norrie, it's a thing. It can and should be... (after all, it's a natural product). I somehow forgot about it, even though I recently fed it myself.

Off-topic, I'm curious about the likelihood of encountering poisoned fish when buying. Is it a lottery? Or is fishing with cyanide done in certain regions?
Elizabeth882
In my practice, I have not encountered a poisoned yellow zebrasoma, nor a xanthurum for that matter. I think it's parasites.

I added fishamin to the water, made a fasting day... so far it's alive... I will monitor it, no external damage...

My pet is not "jumping" today, behaves decently, eats well. Yesterday was probably just one of those days. I hope...

Yesterday the moon was close to the earth.

And my smaller one really has started to jump, maybe the crypto has figured itself out and moved to its next stage... or maybe it really is spinning them in the spring, the water must have gotten worse...
Joe
Have your zebrasomes stopped waltzing already?
Heather
The zebra has stopped, but there is clearly crypt in my aquarium. I am already sure of this... Now I'm confused - what to do?!
Melissa
I may have gotten used to it, but I seem to be calmer; compared to before, I'm still more nervous. Besides, I sometimes go with the flow... but I won't start catching and treating for now...

Observe. If the problem worsens, Yoda's experience may become very useful!
