come, take

The question is still open, the arrival of my purchase is delayed for another 10 days. I need a sterilizer.

UV AquaMedic, but only 5W (better than nothing)
Jason
Thank you, Ira! But it won't work. I need 18W for my volume, at least 11W in the worst case. 5W won't help at all.

By the way, a 5-watt crypto may not kill it, but I stopped a 6-watt UV bacterial filter. 250 liters of water.

I have two UVs. 11 watts for 400 liters and 9 watts for 250 liters. I can't complain, they help in preventive measures, but when the white-bellied was in an advanced stage of crypto, neither 18 nor 36 watts helped. Lost time, can't catch up or cure it.

UV helps in prevention, but not in the treatment of crypto.

As they say at Riffcentral: the best remedy for crypto is A LOT of corals in the aquarium.
The issue is basically resolved: I found an old leaking 9W UV sterilizer at home (my wife had previously insisted that we threw it away), hung it over the sump, and turned it on. It's a bit risky, but for now, there's no other option.

The best remedy for crypt is quarantine and prevention of parasitic infections. If the abundance of corals on the reef central, from wheels, 100% benefits the most susceptible fish species to oodinium and cryptocaryon, then this is more like a fabrication. While in some cases such a practice may have a positive outcome, taking it as a guideline for all fish species would, at best, be incorrect.

Was there a wrasse in the crypto container?
Jill9137
No. He was in a small aquarium. No one there ever got sick.
