In addition to the photos, please send a complete description of the system and the water parameters; light, water treatment...
Kristen1161
Пожалуйста, предоставьте текст для перевода.
Dana4701
I'm not very knowledgeable about the parameters, but a friend came to the city. He did all the tests - everything seems fine.
Sydney
Again, the description of the system, water treatment, replacement volumes... If everything is fine, either Lo or the surgeons will help.
Andrea9320
"EVERYTHING" cannot be fine! In the first photo, besides the filamentous algae, there is also cyanobacteria. Pavel, how long has the aquarium been running and what is the load?
James3382
Yes, cyanobacteria are a problem for all mini aquariums - nitrate, phosphate.
Lauren
Pavel, who lives in this aquarium, what and how much do you feed them? Do you change the water and how often? Where do you get the water?
Phyllis
Yes, I didn't pay attention. The one who was asking seems to have disappeared...
Jennifer5784
80L aquarium, set up 8 months ago.
5kg of rocks (I know, I need more.)
2 T5 lamps, 1 actinic
1 pump 1200L
salinity 1.025
nitrates 0
phosphates 0
hardness normal
calcium normal
magnesium normal
Population:
Shrimp - torch.
Basil
clown
2 chromis
sand anemone
soft coral (I don't remember the name)
sea urchin
Earl
I only add water, I get it from the local seller (the only one in our city who deals with marine aquaristics).
Alec9378
Is there any filtration? Foam? Filter?
Laura3615
first compartment - sponge
In the second, all components of the canister filter (carbon, something else...)
Resun foam maker
Gabrielle5053
If there is a sponge and no water changes, then the tests are blatantly lying. Nitrates are likely not 0. I would start from the fact that the water is saturated with organic matter and is being replaced with water of inadequate quality. Measures: 1. Reduce the amount of feed by half. 2. Consider the quality of the water for changes (top-ups). 3. Make several water changes. 4. Replace the foam filter. 5. (after) Introduce a dog (blenny).
Amy5468
The water seems to be of good quality, having been purified. What is the interval for water changes and how much???
Nicole7268
What to do with the sponge?
Elijah7048
Either throw it away or rinse it thoroughly every week. It depends on what it is there for.
Jeanne
The sponge is wrapped in a fibrous cloth (it traps all visible dirt).
Christopher1252
Throw the sponge in the trash or rinse it DAILY. Measure the water for topping up with a TDS meter. The tests are lying. "HARDNESS is normal" - what did you measure?!!! "Coal, carbon" - is that a joke? "Something else" - what exactly?
Stacy6866
"sea erzh" - please explain...
James
the sea for 8 months???) read the forums and books, many questions will be answered.
Catherine
Will this procedure harm the stones???
Mitchell3177
How is that possible? There is no osmosis at home.
Yolanda
Is there a problem with buying an ostmost installation? They sell it in any store!
Matthew1280
Buy a TDS meter then, and measure the water to be sure of its quality.
How can it harm if all operations take place in seawater?
William5838
The easiest way, if there is no osmosis, is to buy purified water in the store (usually this is water from reverse osmosis) or order it in bottles with home delivery. And, of course, buy some salt. In this case, the cost of seawater comes out to 1.5 - 2 per liter.
Beth3383
In our city, purified water without salt can only be bought in one place. The price is 3!!!
Stephen5841
For an 80L aquarium interior, you can splurge a bit...
Cheryl9296
From your city, in the fall, a person was buying osmosis for the sea, talk to him, maybe it will be convenient for him to provide water. I think it will be cheaper than 3.
Leslie
Today I tested the water hardness. It exceeded 70 dGH. I was told that this is normal for a marine aquarium. Now I understand that it is not. I scrubbed 60% of the rocks with a brush to remove algae and replaced 20% of the water.
Timothy
In seawater, no one measures hardness; they measure density. You need to measure CARBONATE hardness.
Brandy
How to measure?
David
The test for carbonate hardness (KH), not GH, as you measured. The test should be designed for seawater. Available options are JBL and Red Sea.
Leonard
Distilled water is sold at the pharmacy, it is also suitable. We have it for 2.50 per liter, ask at your place.
Joseph8592
I hope it's not from the tap?....
Sarah5423
I thought (just kidding). I bought.
Jeanne
I found a carbonate hardness test from the company TETRA in our store. Will it work?
David3217
The test for carbonate hardness is quite simple. I have used this test, and it works fine.
Alan273
I took a KH test, it showed 8 dH.
Rachel
So Ca should be around 420.
Jasmine
Is 460 the norm?
John5528
It's even a bit more than normal.
Patricia
What salt did you use? If it was Red Sea, it can give elevated calcium levels.
John
Yes, it's Red Sea.
Caroline1599
If there are not many hard corals, it's better to change the salt. Although I used it for a year and didn't notice anything negative.
Heather
After 10 days, my carbonate hardness dropped by 7 dB. How can I raise it?
Joshua
This is nonsense. Measure it again. Your carbonate hardness could not have dropped by 7 dKH. There is no reason for that. In fact, it's very unlikely. Or did I misunderstand something? What is the current carbonate hardness in the aquarium?
Cindy
Stas, I think it became 7 dKN - that's fine. It dropped by one in 10 days - excellent. I can drop that much in a day.
Erin
Well, if it's for one unit - then it will do.
Sharon
I apologize, it's really 7dh. I'm a bit confused. Is it normal that it falls???
Cheryl
Let's not think about it for now. We'll attribute it to test error and some daily fluctuations. When it reaches 6, we'll think of something. In general, we know too little about your aquarium.
Brenda
Good day to all sailors. I'm coming back to you with my old problem!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought all the tests (they are normal), I'm doing water changes - nothing helps(((. I really like the aquarium, but I'm already considering a complete overhaul (I really don't want to, but I can't help it for now). I regularly clean the rocks with a brush - still, the pests keep growing.... I would be very grateful for any advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jacqueline5976
What kind of light do you have, and how long have the bulbs not been changed? Buy a dogfish Salarias fasciatus - Diamond Goby and snails. Are there any stagnant areas in the substrate?
Kristen2246
There’s some kind of anomaly in the aquarium. What kind of stones are those and where did you get them?
Karen
the light I have is factory-made: one 36V lamp at 10,000K, the second 36V blue + I installed Aqua Glo T8 (although it doesn't do much). And there are also diodes for night light. I haven't changed the lamps for over a year, but I think the reason is not that - algae appeared in early February. And the stones were sent to me.
Leslie
I made an algae scrubber, cleaned the stones with a brush, and do a 40% water change every month (just as I was advised on the forum), but it keeps growing, and the further it goes, the harder it is to scrape off the stones. And where it lands on the sand, it continues to grow, taking over the territory...
Veronica
There are no stagnant areas: the aquarium is aerated by one 1200L coral fan and two 500 pumps. My sea urchin hardly cleans the rocks of algae, only selectively one.
Omar3497
The lamps need to be changed anyway, as their lifespan is no more than 6 months; after that, their spectrum changes, and this change is just right for filamentous algae and other nuisances. If I were you, I would try to drastically reduce the light period, or even better, turn off the light for a couple of days and cover the aquarium from external light, then siphon out the dead algae and gradually add light back. By the way, how many hours does your light work?
Karen
12 hours... where can I buy similar lamps???
Amanda5586
compacts, Ray Tkach, call to inquire
Brandon4517
I don't know where you can buy them, but I think someone will quickly let you know here. And buy algae-eating snails and preferably also those that eat detritus.
Sarah7284
If you plan to turn off the light for a few days, first find out how anemones handle it; corals and others cope just fine, but I'm not sure about anemones, although I think they should be okay too.
Michelle13
you can get the exact name
to recommend this nonsense, it's better to ask someone yourself first, and then give advice
Bryan1851
A disruption of the light regime, even to the point of complete shutdown for several days, can sometimes lead to severe consequences for the well-being of corals. I experienced this myself when the power was out for an extended period due to the electrical service. Therefore, you are making a valid point. If everything went so smoothly with this matter, then I believe the light was not turned off for just a few days. I would not recommend joking around with the light flow. There are other, more reliable and safer methods of dealing with the thread, which are primarily related to maintaining a normal light regime and the level of biological activity in your aquarium.
Christine864
The lamps are supposed to arrive tomorrow morning - I hope it helps...
Wendy
I fully support this, and the topic of turning off the lights has been raised more than once, so there's no need to experiment. It's worth reading: Change the salt. My topic, I've had a hard time with this salt.
John3142
By the way, I also have this Red Sea Coral Pro salt and also threads until morning, but I've already bought Tetra, on Friday I'll change 10% - let's see, then I'll write back.
Reginald5073
Okay... the lamps arrived - unfortunately, one is broken(((( (what bad luck).
Heather
+1 to Red Sea Coral Pro - the corals were browning. Now at Tropic Marine - AMAZING.
James
But I don't use Red Sea salt, I use Tetra Marin.
Alexandra
Pasha, I highly doubt that such a rapid growth is due to the lamps! I have the same aquarium and the lamps have been on for about 11 months - everything is fine. The issue is either with the water or with the live rocks. Measure the water with a TDS meter. It seems to me that snails, hermit crabs, and rabbits will only slow down the growth, but the cause will remain. Tests - silicates, phosphates, nitrates?
Nicole
Hi Max, when I bought the aquarium, it was already running and there was one rock with coral (about 2 kg). After I added the rocks, it seems this problem started (((. What do you recommend???. Nitrates show 12, phosphates 0. I tested the water from two sources - the result is the same.
Emily
Haven't you done tests for silicates? Water from two places is not a reliable indicator! What kind of purification does this water have? Is there a DI (deionization) cartridge after the reverse osmosis? I would change everything. 1. I would get replacement water from another source or install reverse osmosis myself. 2. I would change the salt. I haven't heard complaints about the tetra, but it might be a bad batch... 3. Live rocks. I would buy about 5-7 kg of rocks and new substrate. I would do a complete restart. I would remove your rocks... But that's a last resort. I think the issue is with the water.
Linda
Max, our esteemed colleague, does not write anything about how he has set up: feeding schedule and what he feeds, the situation with macrophytes, which ones and in what quantity, the substrate - what it is made of and how it is arranged, detritus - in what quantity, and whether it is weighed in water or accumulates in dead zones due to incorrect water movement decisions, the skimmer - what kind it is and how efficient it is, questions about live rocks, their required quantity and quality considering the volume of this aquarium, questions about auxiliary bioorganisms, what he thinks of introducing, and much more that he does not mention... he is fixated on the lights, and that's it...
Emma
Could you please provide more details here? I've never sold S.R.K. (dry reef rocks) or I.K. (live rocks) in my life. Pavlik, what are you talking about!
Rachel
Hello. Unfortunately, you misunderstood me, or perhaps I didn't express myself clearly. I have "respect and admiration" for you. I was asked a question: It's either about the water or the live stones. I wanted to rule out that option, as there are many suggestions but no solution yet. If anything, I apologize))))
Melissa3820
Pasha, how did you intend to cut off by saying that J.K. sold you the living stones, but in reality, he didn't sell them to you?
Tina
In the 78th post, there are no recommendations for you. Instead, there is a request regarding your aquarium and your actions.
Karen2578
To the topic starter: finally provide a photo of the overall view, the sample, and the problem areas. Honestly, it's completely unclear whether the equipment matches the aquarium, the amount of live rock and the population correspond to the volume, etc. What substrate, what thickness, where did you get it? The TDS meter readings on your osmosis (MANDATORY!!!). Only after that can anything be said.
P.S. And by the way, where did you get the live rock?
Diana8604
Yes, I forgot to write - there was carbon in the third compartment (still from the store when the aquarium was working there). I removed it today.
Brooke
I don't understand anything... Let's wait for the osmosis test. If it turns out that the norm is there too, I would restart (I'm out of ideas). In this volume, it won't take much effort and time. Make fresh water. Drain the old one. Use it to rinse the substrate and clean the stones with a toothbrush. (Leave part of the old water for the fish and start gradually transferring them to the fresh one). Don't touch the filters. Fill everything up, pour in the water, and plant it. Reduce the light cycle and feeding. Observe...
Stephanie3084
And I feel the same... I noticed that after turning off the lights, small little things start to appear on the machines - they look like tiny snails. Although I haven't had any of those. Is this normal?
Charles894
However, the sand is some kind of unclear. Where did you get it? It would actually be nice to settle a dog like Saliaris Fasciatus there. Or a fox like Lo. They have something to feed on here. Caulerpa prolifera would deprive the thread of its nutrient base, dominating the aquarium, which would help it disappear more quickly. Judging by the photo, there are very few live rocks. It is generally accepted to have 30 kg of live rocks for every 100 liters of volume. This should have been considered right from the beginning of establishing this aquarium. And good live rocks should be acquired.
Melinda
You are right, but if you put 30 kg of stones in there, what will be left for the rest))). Judging by other aquariums, they can exist normally even with that amount...
Melissa1838
I have no idea what level it is in the mine with the pen. It feels like it's full, although I might be wrong. I think there’s enough current. And does the dascil not wet the clown with the chrysiopterus?
James3382
I have Caulerpa in my aquarium, and I also bought a couple of other species.
Wendy2244
Nah, at first I was racing around the aquarium, but then I calmed down...
Michelle
Who says that there must be exactly 30 kg in this aquarium? It can be less, allowing for free swimming space for the fish. But an aquarium with a minimal amount of live rock is a mistake. Regarding the caulerpa, determine if its biomass is sufficient for successfully combating parasitic algae. I still can't figure out from the photo what that strange clump of greenery is; it doesn't even look like caulerpa, who knows what it is...
Jonathan6173
Be careful with ozone. Read about it here.
David2398
I certainly don't want to scare off a new (to the forum) sailor with my post - every newcomer is always welcome here, but before taking such categorical advice, I would like to know the advisor a little better.
Emily
This written piece resembles a riddle about a marine aquarium, 1000 fish and 15 tons of water, ichthyophthiriasis on chinook salmon, and the struggle with a sterilizer in the water supply and a functioning ozonator... damn it all.
Heather6148
Offtopic Let's also get Pasha on the ozonator. What's up with TDS?
Jeffery
In the third compartment, the water level is unstable, which makes it impossible to adjust the skimmer, and further about the skimmer and foam... Place it in the second compartment, or for the time being in the display part for experimentation. 30 liters a month, better a week. In beautiful nano aquariums, a 100% water change is done weekly. Probably all the dead rocks, like I had. Maybe yours died without water changes? Add the same amount to start, right away.
Emily
Where does such extreme come from???
Melinda2740
wrote about his "trubasteya" or whatever it's called, either on the logo or aquafanate, I don't remember, but the result is impressive, though there's chemistry involved and some other things, and he's definitely cool as a nanist. If he wants, he'll respond himself. I think the substitution isn't done all at once, but rather every day or some other schedule? Here it is.
Michelle1505
Good advice on this topic...
We're talking about replacing 100% of the water in very small aquariums!!! Where there are only 10-20 liters of water, and in some cases even less - just 3 liters. And the replacements in densely populated aquariums!!! There are more living creatures in a nano tank than in Pasha's 100 liters.
What 30 liters a week? Maybe just change 100 liters at once with water that has a high TDS...?
Anne
Source water and coal. The fact that phosphates are at zero is not an indicator. And the tests themselves should be checked. Off-topic: Although Pasha is somewhat mysterious, he seems to be hiding something.
John
What kind of substitutions are you making? You have the same aquariums, I understand that all systems are different, but still. For example, I have a 400-liter (40L) tank and I was changing five liters a week; it was overgrown like crazy (no photos). I switched to ten liters, and it's receding little by little. I think I’ll increase it to fifteen.
Brandi
And what about biology? If 100% per week? After all, there are only a few live rocks (LR) there, and they are not functional. How can we understand such water changes, especially when the initial water is clearly of not the best quality, even without a TDS meter? If lower organisms dominate in the aquarium, such changes will not yield results. That is, removing the insignificant complex of denitrifying bacteria and replacing it with a biologically inert medium is a Sisyphean task...
Anna9752
Good evening, unfortunately, the TDS meter was not available from our local supplier where I bought the aquas((((((. I need to buy it urgently.... Can you recommend where to buy it?
Shelby3182
I will add that I have 400 liters of pure water, I do water changes every two weeks, 10 liters, and sometimes 6 liters (when there were fewer problems). It hasn't overgrown and I believe it's thanks to the macrophytes, which suppress the lower plants. I don't use any absorbing chemicals and I don't use charcoal. I think the reason for Pavel's issues is the water and sand of questionable origin.
Amber
It is like that, but you probably have balings, various reactors, a skimmer. Here, most likely, in the compartment with the foam separator, the fluctuation is up to 5 cm per day. Do you have 30 stones for 100? Your algae just wilted with small water changes, but now they have popped up from somewhere; I thought they were completely gone.
Bryan1851
I have no samphire at all on the 400L soft reef, just one hanging pen and a vibro, and that's it. I add trace elements three times a week, about 30ml each time, which means twice a month.
Rick
Maybe. And how long has it been going on for him?
Well, it should have been clarified before giving extreme advice.
In my Resana - 20% a week, and not every week.
+100. In that case, why bother with live rocks, sand, etc.? Just get some osmosis, salt, and chemicals, and "it will bring you happiness..."
Laurie3842
I never advised changing 100%, I said 30 liters a week.
Kevin8087
It looked like a call to action.
Christopher8654
Instead of a new toothbrush, buy a Trochus snail.
Laura4892
The company participated in the forum in 2008, supplying marine fish and corals. It had 15 tons of water before merging with the company. Since April 2010, the company has been operating independently while maintaining partnerships. The medication for treating diseases caused by Cryptocaryon, Oodinium, and Ichthyophthirius (marine and freshwater aquaristics) is undergoing dosage and treatment method validation in collaboration with the company "PREIS-AQUARISTIK." The company plans to source supplies from Vietnam and Indonesia.
James1625
6-12 liters once a week.
John3432
Off-topic. Yeah, I thought so. Regarding supplies and the medication - please create a new thread to avoid cluttering the topic starter's thread. Once you create it, I want to ask you a couple of questions about "PREIS-AQUARISTIK" and Ricordea florida.
Sydney
Trocus is a good thing, but sometimes they die... even on the road. In short, rely on the trocus, but don't let your guard down.
Rachel9060
The TDS meter is supposed to arrive tomorrow - we'll see then.
Leonard
Trochus is a super thing for 50. It's beer with shrimp, by analogy. Let's not skimp on this)) Sorry for exaggerating like that)
Charles894
Finally, the TDS meter arrived - it showed 28 ppm at the output of the osmosis.
John
This is a lot, it must be 000ppm. It's time to set the resin, normally it should be up to 007.
Justin
Here is the answer to your questions...
Kenneth2761
If possible, a link to how the resin looks and where to buy it?
Alyssa1438
Contact vadim_я. He has resin and can explain everything to you.
Christopher8654
After the osmotic membrane? And how much at the input?
I have a similar indicator at the input - 800 ppm.
There are no algae. The ones that were there were eaten by Black Sea hermit crabs. Now, out of hunger, they are gnawing on the Carolina, so I sometimes have to feed them.
Jill9137
at the entrance 240 rpm
Jeffrey2277
This is not an indication that there won't be in the future.
Troy8808
I recommend you purchase the American product "Chemipure." A small jar for aquariums up to 150 liters costs around 200. It's a fantastic product that keeps many water parameters in check, and it should last you about six months. Many people, including myself, use "Chemipure" in their aquariums and are satisfied with the results; the hair algae will disappear in two weeks. I had the same problem. Also, try changing the salt; there is a very good American salt called "KRISTAL SEA" available at Tkach. The salt is truly premium quality.
Selena4467
Please explain the mechanism of action of CHIMIPURA (Chemipura) against filamentous algae. After all, it is just a mixture of activated carbon and ion exchange resins. Also, if possible, a link to the manufacturer's website for American salt "KRISTAL SEA."
Rodney3101
Thank you for the recommendation. My Chemipure has been in for 1.5 weeks now, and I rearranged the rocks in the aquarium and added another pump rated for 1200 liters. There isn't a strong growth of filamentous algae, but it hasn't gone away either... I plan to order an ion exchange resin cartridge next week.... Also, I wanted to ask: for those who have a TDS meter, what readings do you get from tap water in different cities???? (I'm really interested))))
Joshua
TDS Kyiv 250
Janet5447
And it's the same for us, but if you travel 30 km from Uzhhorod, there are springs in the mountains where the TDS shows 50!!!
James
TDS 280 in the tap water of Zaporizhzhia.
Corey3201
I have between 700 and 1000 in the tap. Kherson.
Marie5348
TDS Odessa 250
Jacqueline6670
TDS 280 in the tap water of Zaporizhzhia.
Leha, I have TDS 215, someone is "spitting in your well," just kidding, apparently due to the mechanical filtration system, or maybe it's just a different area of the city!
Vincent
here is this American website and their products, I have CRISTAL SEA MARINEMIX salt
Jason
Yes, the water is not first class)))
Andrea6761
As you know, I live in the city center, the building is 49 years old, the pipeline is 50-55 years old, while your area and pipeline are younger, that's why I think there's a difference.
Alec9378
Tore
Travis572
The Crystal Sea®/Forty Fathoms© reef seems risky to me; I wouldn't dare to use it on my reef. Why complicate life for yourself and your reef when there are wonderful salts available without any hassle?
Sara4035
There are wonderful salts available without any hassle. Maybe a person enjoys overcoming difficulties, for example, having sex in a hammock and standing up!
Caitlin3279
This salt is also quite available............ Tkach A. has a lot of this salt, you can buy a whole box. I recently bought tetramethyl salt, and for some reason, it turned a kind of blue color in the bag after 2 weeks; it's unclear why it changed color...............
Angel628
I’m hearing this for the first time. It can't be true, because it can never be. Tetra salt should be as white as the first snow. Especially from such a serious manufacturer as Tetra. And did they accidentally slip you some junk? From Romanian or Polish-Turkish production? There was already Aqua-Medic like that, from which mushrooms dissolved and even silly sinularia fell apart. It was coming to us from Poland in transparent polyethylene bags. Packaged in 20 kg. That was in 2002-2004. Be careful with the blue salt, don’t break any wood...
Stuart
I don't buy it in bags, only in 20 kg buckets of Tetra ine SeaSalt, and I have already opened 7 buckets for myself. The appearance is excellent, with a solubility of 99.9%, and it's as clear as a tear.
Brian6895
I'll throw it away to be on the safe side........................this blue salt........
Mary
As soon as I acquire the resin, I plan to do this...
Alexandra
Stas, Pasha's pen is very weak! I hope he doesn't get into trouble with vodka...
Laura9093
If it's weak, then I agree - it's not worth it.
Tina
Did you not buy copper sulfate?
Justin9867
Offtopic, this is why "the crocodile doesn't catch, the coconut doesn't grow."
James5032
If this is a question in the category of "humor," I recommend you watch KVN more often; it might help.
Nicholas
the question was in the category of "humor." I forgot to add a smiley.
Jeffery7866
I continue the topic: my friend and I bought ion exchange resin - the output showed 0! I changed 60 percent of the water, and after a week, the result didn't improve much; green stuff is slowly growing on the sand and stones...
Tami
Max, can you tell me how you managed to keep the water level in the third compartment so that the foam generator worked properly?
Melissa3200
Did you expect your aquarium to transform 100% in a week? Now you need to wait... The most important thing now, guys, is to not rush things. It will only cause you extra hassle... Don't do frequent water changes... Let the aquarium naturally reach the desired resource potential after 60%.
Jacqueline6670
Pasha, try to fit it into the second compartment! The water level in the rear compartment is controlled by shutting off the comb and closing two grates in the next shaft.
Julie4738
I did all of this, the problem is that the pen doesn't fit in the second one(((
Amy1672
In theory, it should fit without fasteners! Try to insert it into the second one. Well, as a last resort, into the third... The level only drops there due to evaporation. You need to add water every 2 days.
Jeffrey2277
I have a slightly different skimmer, the Resun SK-5. In the third compartment, due to fluctuations in water level, I can't achieve the desired result. Maybe I should put something else in there?
Wendy
This is not a penny for you, but a water aerator.
The water fluctuations are only due to evaporation or very large fluctuations in the power grid.
Just add water every morning.
Jerry
throw it away, take another one
TMS Nano, Resan Nano, Riff Octopus NS-80 - better and fits into Resans
or break it and fix it (after that mine started working much better - I broke the air tube on the pump, re-glued it - it worked better)
no need, sometimes it works like a foam
and what can you expect from a "mechanism" for 9 bucks
although it's a bit better than having none at all
Melissa
Please write the full name of the pen.
John
The first links that come up for where to buy need to be searched; TMC is rare for us, but you can find Resun (if not, then on eBay and in Fishstreet), and it's even easier to find a Riff Octopus (it was in the aquarium center). Rey Tkachev has some small one; I don't know how it works, ask them if it will fit, and if not, maybe they'll come up with something else.
Meghan
The octopus blows a bubble in the aquarium.
Tracey
I realized that almost all skimmers produce bubbles, and I have a really bad "frog" in this regard. Many have either a sponge, a sock, or some other junk on the drain. But there's always enough oxygen, and a compressor is not needed. To reduce bubbles in the aquarium, a sump is needed. By the way, the main thing is that you have an octopus skimmer, sometimes even more than I do.
Courtney
Tkach has battle pens where the water level does not depend on the level in the compartment. You can try bacterial therapy; I saw it in Irif. If it helps, you'll need to add or change the stones.
Katie3017
In a nano aquarium, a foam filter is an unnecessary detail.
Destiny
I disagree! 100 liters is not really nano anymore... In 2-3 days my little one produced this kind of skimmed surface. And it's quite difficult to organize a good algae tank in Pasha's aquarium.
Jesse
Max may be highlighting the practice of some sailors who do not use skimmers even in nano aquariums. What is interesting is that such information can often be found nowadays, especially regarding foreign aquariums... Paradoxically. But it is a fact.
Tracey
This topic has already been discussed... By the way, quite passionately. I am specifically talking about Pasha's aquarium, and he has an aquarium similar to mine. In it, the hands are tied. The skimmer also aerates the water well, and with a summer like we had with temperatures of 28-30 degrees in the aquarium, without good aeration, one can run into trouble.
Danny
Everything is correct. During the day, the O2 content in the aquarium can reach 120%. At night, it is slightly lower. The quantitative indicator of O2 is related to both salinity and temperature. The higher these parameters, the less oxygen there is in the water. If the skimmer is weak, it makes sense to install additional aeration in the sump. There are tests for O2 that can be used to monitor data during the summer.

Hello, happy belated holidays to you, I'm continuing the topic)))) A month has passed since the major water change, and during this time, I've only topped off the evaporated water - but it hasn't really made a difference((((. I ordered the Boyu Protein Skimmer WG-310, at least it should work better than the current one). It should be delivered tomorrow. I'm curious to know about the method of adding vodka - what are its benefits?
Ricky9405
Offtopic This is known by Sanya...
John3187
Do you think I should give it a try???
Steven7574
In my opinion, I haven't used it myself and I don't recommend it to others. Don't retrain your rhyme to the bad, it will be healthier.
Stacy6866
why is this suddenly bad?
Tracy
If possible, please justify (I would like to hear different opinions).

Hello!
You have a skimmer, so stock up on lime stones right away.
I don't know how they work, but it should be better than SK-05.
Do you have anti-phosphate in your aquarium?
Vodka against nitrates (are they off the charts for you?). It works sometimes, but in your volume, the biological balance is likely to crash before you see results - put cheatomorpha in the aquarium and trim it periodically, it also absorbs nitrates.
You should have changed the water four times a month with your skimmer.
...don't joke around. Off-topic: Sanya will probably remember that vodka for a long time.
Julie3950
Are the stones from the linden sold where the pennywort is? How often should they be changed??? And the nitrates show 12.5. Anti-phosphate (please explain))))
Christina9947
What do you mean????
Destiny
Stones can be there too, and probably these can be exchanged as well. I don't remember exactly, but something from 2 weeks to a month, as they will start to grow. Anti-phosphate together with coal.
So why do you need vodka with nitrates at 12.5?
Well, if you haven't drained all the water and haven't restarted your system, a normal water change for your aquarium is 10%, or 10 liters a week, especially with your almost non-working skimmer.
Vincent
I don't know how to solve the problem, so I'm writing everything - just in case.
Caleb6320
Right now, my phosphates are at 0. The system has Chemi PKR. As I understand it, they are somewhat similar to the higher guiding ones?
Gabriel
Yes, they also grow on mine; I periodically clean them with a brush, "move" the hedgehog onto them (where it almost completely eats the algae, they hardly grow anymore), there's chemistry in the filter (Purigen and PhosGuard), but I still don't know why this happens, I've even added resin. There are plenty of algae eaters, but they've all switched to dry food and don't want to graze on the rocks - they're lazy.
Eric
I don't know, it seems so, I read something like that, so no need for antifos.
P.S. You should have ordered a dozen from the smallest hermits from Rey. Or do you have some?
Sydney
There are two snails - algae eaters, a hedgehog, and three hermits.
Emily
Yes, exactly after the passage of such a hedgehog (only mine is the one with the red) algae do not grow in those places for a long time, but I need to "manually" direct mine (plant it in a specific spot), as it doesn't crawl everywhere.
Amber
I only have my lunch with certain stones.
Christina9947
More diverse mollusks. Even one turban can noticeably destroy the lower ones.
Nicole7268
Pasha, forget about the vodka. You can only drink by yourself. With your little fish, you'll put all the livestock at risk. You've already spent a ton of money on tests and various anti-foams, chemi-pures, etc. Order 7-8 kg of live rocks, sand, and do a complete restart, and throw away those rocks you have lying around.
Steven
I was already thinking about this... For now, I'll wait and save some money... How much sand is needed in Resun and which one should I take???
Gregory
I took 10 kg. Which one? Check the aquarium topic on the forum. Find 2-3 aquariums without any junk and ask what kind of sand they have. In my opinion, that's the best advertisement.
Emily
On Monday, they brought the Boyu WG-310 foam maker. It has been working since Monday, but I can't get it to produce foam (it seems to be running empty). If anyone has had this model, please share your experience!!! (It seems that such foam makers are used for Boyu aquariums.)
Katie3017
What's the problem then?
Cynthia6578
The problem is that it doesn't produce dry foam. I tried playing with the air supply, adjusted the water supply - I must be doing something wrong... I watched on YouTube at what level the foam maker is placed in the aquarium - I set it up the same way...
James4342
With this foam gun, you can only "play" with the level adjustment. Then you can achieve changes in the foam composition. Probably. I can't adjust the level on the 428 model.
Michelle9986
I have a 308 that works like this.
Kristen1161
The pump doesn't push bubbles at all.
Curtis9143
The video looks very much like a setup... 3 months and the penny looks new, no dirt, no salt, it feels like it was kept in fresh water... and not for long.
