Gubans often bury themselves in the ground, either out of fear or for the night.

Justin9867

the invader has emerged... I read that they bury themselves... but I carefully examined every inch of sand... I wonder how he died so as not to cause trouble... today he swims as if nothing happened... where has he BEEN...? I can't figure it out.... and how often does he hide like this? and I read that he tramples on gammarus... I spent almost a year trying to breed gammarus to plant a mandarin... so it turns out he is a competitor to her in the food chain?

What's the use of this tangerine? It has been living for almost an hour. Yes, it's beautiful! But it emerges from the stones once a day for a couple of minutes and "goodbye Eurovision."

Deborah2682

So, how come she is always in sight? I got the wrasse so it would be constantly visible... at first, I was disappointed... but today my opinion changed... it seems to be feeling fine... rummaging around the rocks... doesn't pay attention to people---the melanurus have been hiding for a year and are not used to it... as soon as you approach the aquarium, they go into their burrows... the magnificus only comes out once a day to eat... and the aquarium is empty---only the shrimp are constantly in sight... while the fish are all hiding... at least it seems I didn't make a mistake with the wrasse... and I thought the mandarin would be in the foreground---searching for amphipods among the rocks.

Mario

It may depend on the temperament of the specific individual... And in which aquarium does the mandarin fish live permanently?

John3335

There are small aquariums there... right at the entrance on the right side, there’s a stand with about 5 aquariums at the bottom and 4 at the top... maybe around 100 liters... I’ve been going there a couple of times a month for the past two months, and it always pleases the eye... I ask what they feed them, and they say nothing... just throw in some fresh stones... and that’s it... so I’m thinking of taking it.

Lindsey3628

It's not a serious fish... again, it's been a day without it... it showed up in the morning and then disappeared again... whether there are fish or not... maybe someone has advice on how to lure it out... or what to do so it doesn't hide...

Anthony

Maybe he has his own affairs?

Christine864

Maybe there's some fish that isn't aggressive, so it won't hide... and the melanopus won't bother it?

Linda

So, for your 130 liters, having melanopus is already quite a lot.

Christopher

It's normal for him to hide; once my tamarin sat in the sand for two weeks... I thought he was dead, but then he just showed up!

Dana4701

Don't worry. Everything will return to normal when the fish gets used to the new environment. It will only hide at night or when scared.

Tanner

aquarium fish pair of disco anemones...and that's it...melanopus are hiding...only the shrimp are constantly in sight...so one small fish like a cardinal won't disrupt the biobalance at all...the green dragon surfaced again this morning...but what does it eat all this time while sitting in the sand...? won't it die of hunger?

Stacy6866

I somehow thought that the zebrasoma was also present in the aquarium.

Aaron6112

So it's in another aquarium... I have four of them... in three everything is fine... but in this one, the residents just don't get along... either one is bullying the other... or they all hide together.

Michael3221

No one will tell you how easy or difficult it is for a goby to endure such long waits in terms of food... maybe if you feed it something nice, it won't hide?

Jennifer7159

The wrasse is sick... its dorsal fin is pressed against its body... it's damaged... the color on its back under the fin has changed—it has dulled. It feels like it got stuck and, while freeing itself, tore its skin and ripped its dorsal fin. What should I do? I doubt I can separate it... it immediately goes to the rocks at the slightest disturbance... this is my first sick marine fish.

Craig7302

In captivity, wrasses feed on almost any live and frozen animal food, while some species need to be supplemented with plant-based food.

Jessica5016

This fish seems suspicious—it's been missing for 2 days... then it appears on the morning of the third day... then disappears by evening... and it neither dies nor really lives... it seems like something is biting on the rocks... but not waiting for the evening, it gets neither a crumb nor a freeze.

Angela6489

The fish is definitely strange... it appears every two days... and only in the morning... the wounds on its back have healed... it doesn't respond to dry food... it might peck at frozen food a little... I've noticed it pecking at the gammarus on the stone... in short, it just hides.

Rodney3101

Give him small maggots, he should take them; they might not take dry bait at all, hexatene is not the right fish. He is probably hiding because he is afraid of someone or something; look closely at who or what might be bothering him. There is also a possibility of poor water quality, which could be causing the fish stress.

Nicole7122

Those melanopus shubushny... they fly like electric brooms... that's why he gets scared of their every sudden movement... but they don't touch him... the moth? Won't the clowns overeat? Won't they stuff their stomachs? They are such gluttons that they even go for the stick I lower to collect the film so the dry bread doesn't get sucked in.

Stacy6866

I'm sorry, but in your aquariums, one is 40 liters and the other is 25 liters, I think it's a bit cramped for such a number of fish. Therefore, such behavior was to be expected from the fish, if not worse.

Kimberly

25 liters are not the issue here... everything is perfect there... the corals are sitting in the crisp... and the corals are growing well... while in the 40 liters, there are three fish—melanopus—4 and 5 cm... and a wrasse 3 cm... I think that's not too much... there was a time when there were more fish... I just got another aquarium, so I redistributed to fill it... and the wrasse had a good meal of bloodworms today... thanks to Anatoly for the advice... the clowns didn't react to the bloodworms... it sank to the bottom and the clowns started to ignore it... but the wrasse enjoyed breakfast... so I think it will be fine.

Cindy

In general, be extremely careful with the moth; it should be alive, fresh, and not smelly, and don't give too much, or you'll poison the animal.

Joseph1346

Thank you... today he doesn't hide anymore... he wanders around the window for food... and is not afraid of anyone!!! I noticed that he stomps on the maggot no matter how much you give him.
