There was no bat, and there was a anglerfish clown. It lived for about 7 months back in 2000, and...

I thought it was a joke!!!!

Off-topic. If someone from the forum had a bat like that, it would be a sensation for the Forum.

Is this a rare fish? Or does it require some incredible conditions for its maintenance? If you know anything, please share...

I heard the cost of a batfish in Germany is around 2000 euros. My acquaintance observed them in the wild near Shark Island, around Java Island, and said they are surprisingly beautiful and unusual fish.

What kind of anglerfish did you have? Was it by any chance Antennarius striatus? And what's interesting is how it used its "fishing rod" if you were feeding it guppies? The essence of this organ is that the prey swims towards the lure and becomes a victim of the anglerfish, but guppies probably weren't thinking about how to eat in saltwater, so he was probably just catching them around the aquarium, or am I misunderstanding something?

It was like this. First of all, its scientific name was Antennarius maculatus. Catching fish by chasing them with a released fishing rod in the aquarium was not its thing. As soon as the guppy entered the aquarium, the clown would release the hidden rod after a minute or two, sitting still. In nature, they do the same, releasing this unique trapping device until an unsuspecting fish approaches. In this case, the guppy simply needed a little nudge to prevent it from being too quick, and then gently pushed towards the clown's mouth with tweezers. It worked perfectly.
