Inspired by the successes of our fellow countrymen, we created a titanium heat exchanger. We first studied the design of the Italian company Sfiligoj. What we saw was disheartening - this device has an extremely low efficiency. The thermal insulation is inadequate, with half of the cold escaping into the atmosphere. The heat transfer from the water to the evaporator is also low; the tube is simply coiled, not even soldered. All of this is absent in the proposed heat exchanger. Additionally, there is the possibility of placing the compressor outside, eliminating noise and heat from the unit. Thanks to the large cross-section of the inlet and outlet, we can allow the entire circulation through it (or install it on the water drain) and not use an additional pump.

Damn, it's just outrageous. Did I get it right - we're circulating refrigerant directly through the titanium pipe, and on the other side, water is in contact with it?

That's right, water flows along the entire length of the titanium pipe. It's no coincidence that they say everything genius is simple. We made ultraviolet devices in a similar way. When I saw the heat exchanger at the ray, there were no questions.

It seems like plumbing plastic can't be bent like that. I was thinking of using a drain pipe, one that has a spiral coated in plastic. It coils up nicely and holds its shape perfectly.

This is a flexible PVC pipe. Maybe you can take another one, I haven't tried. We'll launch it soon, it's almost ready... Only the radiator will be taken outside.

In metal plastic, is there contact between water and the cut of the pipe, or can there be? Are elbows, fittings, and taps made using metal? PVC pipelines are made entirely of plastic both inside and outside, including all fittings, including taps. This means that contact with metal is fundamentally excluded, even in the case of damage. Everything is assembled very easily with glue, requiring almost no tools.

I completely agree, metal-plastic is good, if it weren't for the metal fittings, and worse, the chrome-plated colored alloy, while PVC is 100% plastic.

We use either the standard control unit that comes with the refrigeration systems or an aquacomputer with a thermostat function.

It is very convenient to use our Kharkiv aquacomputer (OlegAD) for this purpose - it has both a temperature sensor and a controlled channel for it. You also need to buy a Chinese condenser (200-250$). In general, it turns out to be much cheaper than a ready-made aquachiller.

dig deeper into the issue... I have a 1000L external block from a 12-split Chinese model (320 dollars). Of course, I need to add some money to this, but it still doesn't hurt that much, and most importantly, the block is outside, so I don't hear or see it.

You haven't tried buying a 24 air conditioner for a thousand. The problems in the office would disappear immediately. Sasha, I'm not trying to be rude, but economically it can be done cheaper. I respect and appreciate that you made the cooler, but honestly, it's not needed by anyone. No offense intended.

I'm not advocating for anything. Everyone decides this issue in their own way. I can say that what we often encounter is that the air conditioner is in the apartment but not turned on. The aquarium overheats in winter or during the off-season. Therefore, I recommend installing a separate unit for the aquarium. It's also more economical; you don't have to run the air conditioner throughout the entire apartment just for the aquarium.

It's cool that all the guts can be thrown out on the street, and the most important thing is that you don't need to install an additional pump on the refrigerator! If I didn't have my TITAN, I would definitely take advantage of it. The coil looks great. What did you use to seal the hose joint - brass? Was there no leakage from the vibration?

The titanium tube connects to the copper one through a coupling with nut fittings. The inner (titanium) tube is sealed with a rubber ring that is compressed by a nut. There are no adhesives used, except for PVC-PVC. There are also no vibrations. It seems you have an aquarium in your bedroom... Will the titanium interfere???

Well, the TITAN can be placed outside the bedroom. My bedroom is 24 square meters. The aquarium is at one end, and the bed is at the other. There's a split air conditioner above the aquarium that can blow directly onto the water. So the TITAN is more for backup. It's new; I bought it in Spain for 350 euros through a friend. It would have been a sin not to buy it. Now it stands in the hallway like a nightstand.

Depending on the size of the aquarium and the required temperature drop, the power of the unit is selected, and the size of the heat exchanger is chosen based on this power. The English prototype is designed for very large volumes and capacities (pools), so such a design is justified; in our case, a smooth pipe is more than sufficient. Of course, we can sell and provide recommendations for selection.
