I'm not quite sure what you want to know. In my opinion, all aquarists use magnetic scrapers, many with blades. Personally, I've been using a modified Atman MF-15-L with a blade for many years. The quality is quite satisfactory for me, it floats, and the modification is inexpensive if you do it yourself; if you can make it cheaper, that would be great.

I want to see opinions and suggestions for improvement, from the appearance to the functionality of the scraper. Will it handle 12mm?

easy 12mm

The question was not asked without reason, as the specifications in some scrapers are inflated. And... the power for 12-15, etc. can vary, and this affects the quality of cleaning.

It depends on how advanced the cleaning of the windows is. If cleaned once every one to two days, there will be no issues with insufficient effort.

It depends on how well the scraper can handle different stages and it doesn't need to be cleaned as often. This is the most important aspect of the scraper, in my opinion.

If a scraper with a blade is used, the force is concentrated at the point of contact between the blade and the glass, and then my scraper can clean 19mm glass just fine. For daily cleaning, a super powerful magnet is not needed, and for a deep clean, the blade easily removes even tough grime. Overall, it's a good idea, as long as the price is reasonable; otherwise, there are good cleaners available at unreasonable prices.

Is it really possible to make a "2-in-1"? That is, to be able to switch the classic cleaning surface of the scraper to a blade and vice versa? And how much would this make the scraper more expensive?
Leslie
Of course it's real.

In your opinion, is the likelihood of scratching the glass with a blade scraper high? It might be more rational to have one good scraper than several. Is daily glass cleaning a necessity (not considering the reasons) in a marine aquarium?
Randy
Do you mean as a possible addition? I thought about it.

By the way, might it be more profitable to produce such magnetic scrapers on demand? One person needs a scraper with just a blade, another with a sponge, and a third wants a combination of a blade and a sponge... I would choose, for example, the last option (well, if the price isn't astronomical, of course), since it's easier to clean the bottom with a blade because the sand gets stirred up and clogs under the sponge in a regular scraper (that's why my own bottom glass is not very clean). A scraper with a sponge is also necessary, as the sponge removes algae buildup from the glass in the form of a suspension that can nourish corals.

let's first consider the necessary nuances
Melanie
I use plastic cards instead of a blade. It cleans just as well as a blade and poses no risk to the glass.

In my case, I've only had scratches from sand getting into the cleaning sponge.
So I'm talking about one good thing: if you don't put the blade on, it's a daily cleaner; if you do, it cleans the hard-to-reach places.
I think that for most people, daily cleaning is a necessity.
