1. The contacts of the micro switch will quickly rust and it will stop working. A reed switch should be installed, and a magnet on the lever.
2. The auto-fill will constantly turn on and off because there is no "free play." It turns on, fills 1 mm of water, and then turns off. The same goes for water turbulence, etc. There should be a trigger system: minimum water - it turns on, maximum - it turns off. Plus, there should be a control for the emergency level (in case something gets stuck), and a control for the lower emergency level (if the pump has failed and is not pumping).
Michele
I think it's better to place the mic above.
Julie
Whether from the top or the bottom, it doesn't solve the problem.

Why??? Everything is located outside the aquarium at a distance of at least 10 cm, mounted on the wall far from the water, the float is only in the water, there will be free movement, this was quickly put together, it will be adjustable for minimum and maximum levels.

Draw the complete diagram. Two switches are needed - one for turning on (for closing), the other for turning off (for opening). Plus a relay that activates the first switch, which turns on the pump and self-locks. The second switch unlocks it, and it will turn off and shut off the pump. The switches are placed accordingly at the top and bottom. The movement of the lever between them is the free play - the allowable fluctuations in the water level in the aquarium.

That's why I'm asking if there are already ready-made solutions, so I don't step on the same rake again; if not, then I'll have to.

Don't overthink it. Here's a coolant level sensor for you. It's a reliable thing! I connect it to a 9-12 volt relay. If you're interested in the schematic, I'll draw it for you.
Brent5588
thank you, I will look for it

Hello everyone!
For a while, I was looking for an alternative to electronic auto-refills and got interested in the auto-refill from the end sensor series ME-81xx by the company "Asko."
Pros:
- The sensor is sealed;
- Rated for a maximum current of 5A;
- Quite a decent actuation stroke (30-40mm);
- Small dimensions.
Cons:
- The design of the float mechanism is very complicated.

Why reinvent the wheel? Everything has been done a long time ago. Geophones, as mentioned above, through a relay... Otherwise, all sorts of microswitches.

Hello everyone!
Maybe someone can share a diagram for automatic topping up using VAZ sensors.
Debra8438
I'm interested in a diagram; could you draw one for us?

On the corvée - potatoes. I will be in the city on Tuesday - I will draw.
Debbie3587
The potato has dragged on.
Brandi
You Belarusians wouldn't know how potatoes can be so captivating.
Is the scheme clear?
Mariah
Thank you. The scheme is clear, but how does the reed switch not get stuck over time with this setup?
Natalie
There were no incidents.
William1830
I have been using the auto-refill system based on the same principle for 6 months. So far, there have been no incidents. I only used a relay module from Arduino.
Christina9947
If possible, then here is better.
Darrell7542
What are the details?
Jeremy8404
Does the relay work independently, regardless of whether the program is written on the Arduino and the relay is controlled through it?
Martha
No relay works independently.
