Credit! I see they've already set up the assembly line ;-) By the way, did they drill through holes for the assembly? With the arrival of thermal paste, I can start working on it myself; I just need to solder the driver boards.
Emma
Holes were almost everywhere in the ribs, so it was hard to drill.
Jacob4800
Harsh! I didn't get the point, what drivers are attached with double-sided tape? It's sketchy.
Jessica9188
What's the problem?
Jennifer7159
I don't know, the drivers seem to be heating up... won't they fail?
Gabrielle5053
They heat up very little. Although inexpensive drivers were used in the design, which heat up somewhat more than the expensive ones, the heating of the board under full load is about +5°C compared to the temperature of the heatsink. This is not critical at all.
Troy8808
By the way, how were the wires crimped? Was it a lot of hassle? Did you use your skills or did you take a crimping tool?
Sherri1320
We crimped with a crimper, following the technology outlined on the RLL website. It's a bit tedious since it's hard to hold the contacts with your fingers, but it's manageable.
Alyssa1438
I collected something similar, drilled 2.5 for a 3 mm blade, and if strictly along the axes, it hits the ribs, but it's not a problem; I recessed it by 10 mm. I used 8 mm screws, and they hold perfectly, didn't bother with paste, just took KPТ19 - works great. The drivers on double-sided tape seem to not heat up at all. However, Sergey scared me with interference in the control line from the controller, so I placed them all close together, which complicated the neat wiring to the assemblies a bit. Overall, the light fixture turned out to be quite good. Thanks again and
Sarah
Well, now I checked and confirmed that a long trail can be made. I'm somewhat used to checking myself, otherwise it's better to be cautious.
Christopher8654
Yes, Seryoga, I have no complaints, as they say - "a normal guy is always on the lookout" better to be overly cautious than to be underprepared.
Elizabeth6302
screw thread or self-tapping screws?
Charles4157
Self-tapping screws. You'll be exhausted trying to cut the threads, and there's no point. Max tightened them with all his strength - not a single one slipped (though he did break the head off one). The holes for the self-tapping screws are 2.7 mm. The screws need to be photographed separately at home.
Meghan
Here it is!)))) Max, congratulations!!

The next photos should be where the light is already set up, so we are waiting!

It looks like the protective film hasn't been removed from the plugs; there seems to be some fuzziness visible.
Rebecca1419
Yes, that's right, on one I took off, on the other I pulled, the film is sticking out from under the bolt.
Tiffany5069
The film on the plastics on both sides, so... it's better to remove it, as it may "stick" over time during use. Can the wire be somehow enhanced? There are "sleeves," and steampunkers manage to use nylon cords. Or take an audio cable - it would look nicer.
Jeffrey6189
The main thing is functionality, and it is not satisfying at the moment. First, I will remove the matte glass, as I suspect that the claimed 93% transmittance does not correspond to reality. I will test it with a device.
Amy5468
Thus, any glass is not 100% transparent. Its purpose is to "mix" colors and protect against dust.
Kenneth2761
And if the glass steals 30 percent or more, what then? I will try.
Collin
Can I have a photo of the screws? Thank you.
Rachel9060
Have you tried it without optics?
Emma
What's the point?
Pamela
I am assembling a similar wonder that will be located 10-12 cm above the water level.
Michael
At this height, he said that lenses are not needed.
Brooke
So, have you tried how much the diffuser reduces the flow?
Diana8604
Well, why are you silent? How are you doing? I would like to see the lamp over the aquarium and how the reef looks.
Gabriel
+100!
Eric8832
Glass steals 20% of the light flow, measured with a lux meter. Using it without glass is impractical; it serves as splash protection. The overall impression of this device is mediocre. I started the aquarium in January and didn't manage to buy corals this year due to the military situation. Thank God the aquarium has survived, unlike many others that have failed. In short, I'm not thrilled with the light.
Natasha7622
Thank you very much for the information! Peace to us!!!
Erica752
It's strange that a lot of people gather such a lamp and are satisfied.
Sydney
What a mass, apparently this mass of normal light has not been seen. This mass is mostly softness, we have SPS. I am from Donetsk and we are not satisfied. The only plus is "Sunset-Dawn" and the moon. (For that kind of money, I would have bought light bulbs for 5 years ahead.)
Kimberly3727
Thank you!
Todd
Lamps are purchased with a ready-made and clear spectrum. However, diodes have to be set up almost at random; this is an extremely complex task, and there is essentially no standard solution for it—some people get lucky, while others do not. Until proper controllers with spectrum visualizers become available, there will be no progress. Soft corals can tolerate almost any spectrum, but starting with LPS, incorrect light settings will already be a significant problem. I only started preparing my own fixture for such setups after the announcement of a proper controller for it, which should be available for sale soon. With it, I believe everything will be much easier.
Eric8832
Good day. Can you tell me where you hid the controller?
