Congratulations! It is worth using a different salt for the setup, replace part of the D.R.C. (dry reef rocks) with L.R. (live rocks), use finer and smaller sand (do not read about DSB and do not engage in it), if the return pump has not been purchased yet - buy one for constant current, testing for nitrite is not mandatory, better to test for calcium. Good luck!

Stefanie9771

Thank you for the advice! I plan to add a couple of kg of live rock in a week or two after the salting, or is that not correct? I plan to have a substrate height of up to 15 mm; what would you recommend? Aragonite? I have already bought a pump, but unfortunately, I honestly haven't even heard of DC pumps...

Leah

It's a great thing!!! I replaced all my ones with DC current. Do everything properly at once; redoing it will be more expensive. 8-10 mm of primer will be enough. Look into black aragonite sand. Its advantages are obvious. I can't say about the light; I have ice. But the white should be minimal. Just for aesthetic perception.

Jeanne

Regarding the sump, I haven't decided yet what would be better - refugium or sump, based on the size of the equipment, the compartments turn out like this: The total water volume in the aquarium is 37 liters, leaving 35 as a reserve - just as required. It's a pity that there's no reserve, but for now, I've assumed that the skimmer should be submerged 25-30 cm in water; as for the actual depth - who knows... there were no instructions for it.

Jessica9188

I tried to start the foam generator, but it's not foaming... is it because of the fresh water? Well, of course, there's nothing to foam, there's no protein or other surfactants in the water, but it feels a bit off)) Is it difficult to set up the foam generator?

Mario

Yes, it's because of her, bland. P.S.: Katya is cute, she resembles a Bengal in color. I'll even say more about the skimmer, it doesn't immediately create foam in saltwater either.

Sharon

Igor, excuse me, have you read the topics about creating a marine aquarium, the topics in the general section about marine aquariums? If you want a marine aquarium, you will have to learn a lot of new and unfamiliar things at the beginning. Otherwise, you will waste money, nerves, and most importantly, you will harm living organisms.

Brent7831

I have read it, and I am still reading it. It's just that when you put an air nozzle on any hanging filter in freshwater, you get a lot of small bubbles, but here we got very large bubbles and not in large quantities, which confused me... Yeah, this is Bengal Mr. Tiger.

Alec9378

I started the skimmer in saltwater - there are indeed a lot of small bubbles, now it has calmed down, but it works really loudly. I will be changing the return pump; the one I got is louder than the skimmer. Maybe you can suggest a quieter model that runs on DC? I haven't bought live rocks yet, as the system is not set up.

Emily

Some aquarists place the bottom on a sponge about 5 cm thick. This way, vibrations (noise) are not transmitted to the glass. But other aquarists say that the sponge and marine aquarium are incompatible. I got it from Valera as well. I'm very satisfied with my pump. I have one with a capacity of 2000 l/h. It works on the first or second LED. More than that, it overflows. You should have enough for 4000 l/h (I provided the link). It is adjustable with a performance controller.

Shane

I tried putting it on a very porous sponge from the external filter - it didn't help at all. I read here about the problems with these pumps... maybe it just happened that two of them broke down... By the way, of the two bought on OLX from Rivne, one flow pump is quiet, you can't even hear it, while the other one is loud and crackles. It's a small thing, but I'm a bit upset.

Gregory9432

Well, this is like the very first series of pumps - DC. Now it's already the third one - DCS.

Chelsea567

I highly recommend throwing away the tee and never using it anywhere and anytime again!

Jacqueline5976

+1000%. Especially in the compartment of the marine aquarium. Here is Nikolai with sharp eyes, and I didn't even pay attention. Who knows... maybe it's good, maybe not... It will be clear when you identify them.

Tanya

20 years in labor protection and energy - you will see even more than this...

The aquarium is slowly stabilizing. Following Victoria's advice from the Mariner, I introduced a couple of clownfish and added what some call the indestructible Ksenia, which, by the way, fully opened up for two days and is mesmerizingly pulsing. There's also a Kenyan tree, but it doesn't pulse. Almost 5 kg of live rock has been added. The skimmer has finally started producing foam, the cyanobacteria are disappearing, and fortunately, there weren't many diatoms to begin with. I bought Reef Crystals salt and have my eye on a silent DC pump. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.

Ksenia, it's good, beautiful. But why such a big bush? Two months ago, I had two heads on one leg. I've already done weeding twice. If Ksyusha is doing well, it seems that Valya is in fresh water. I don't know how aggressive she is; I couldn't find reliable information, but my lobophyllum perked up when I trimmed the Ksenia patch next to it. The Ksenia polyps were slightly touching the lobophyllum, and it seems he didn't quite like it. By the way, do you have a photo of the entire aquarium as of today?

Laura3615

She was coming from Lutsk, not knowing if she would make it, if everyone would survive in the new aquarium, so she ordered the whole bush. She shares, if anything, there is someone to share with. There is a review photo before the appearance of J.K. (live rocks). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.

Cassandra7840

Well, you just cut it off, but after cutting, it’s already jelly and snot; experience is needed to place the cut Ksyukha on a stone or plank. Ksyukha went to waste after I weeded yesterday. It's a different story with leathery corals (sarcophytons, lobophytons, etc.); they are pleasant and easy to work with. I previously offered it for free on a plank, they took a long time to arrive, and even forgot to say thank you when they picked it up. After that, I lost the desire to engage in charity.

Emily3506

Section: Hydrozoans Search for them. Wipe the front glass boldly with a magnetic scraper. It is believed that during the maturation stage, the system should be disturbed less (avoid touching it with hands (household chemicals), re-gluing, rearranging stones, etc.).

Anne4851

Cool feeder, perfect for vacation. And the hopper can be made spacious.

Larry

Yes, it needs to be refined somehow, otherwise, even though it was made by a German, you can't put it on an open aquarium. Another question is whether the food will get damp.

Ross

Hello. I read your topic and see you got the Riff Octopus pen. I also got this model for quarantine for fish. But for some reason, I'm concerned about the joint between the cup pipe and the black cone... there is a gap of 3-4mm on each side. Do you have the same? If so, what did you use to seal it, because I understand that the foam will not go into the cup. Is there some kind of thick seal there? Because I didn't have one.

Amy9618

My photo rotates when uploading. Maybe I need to take pictures horizontally. Try to take a look. I think you'll understand what it's about.

Jeffrey6189

Congratulations, I must say that the native pump is some kind of mockery, huge, buzzing a little louder than a tractor and doesn't push the foam very well, at least that's the impression I got in the first month and a half after launch. As for the black "membrane," I also didn't understand the point of such a design; I can say that the foam disappeared and dirt stopped accumulating on this black thing only when the lower part of the bowl is submerged in water, see the photo. It seems that no other sealing methods are provided. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Kendra2262

So it needs to be immersed that high (deep) for the foam? Wouldn't it be better to find a seal and match it? I just realized that this is a flaw of this model. It shouldn't be like this ((((

Kevin8087

It's not necessary; the water level can be adjusted by raising the drain tube. In the photo, the level is about 30 cm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.

Please let me know, has the Clown settled in Trachiphilia - will he wear her out to death? Do we need to build something out of nets to keep him away from her, or will everything be fine? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ryan2281

I have little experience, but after reading information online, I would proceed as follows. 1. I would move the Trachyphyllia to the sand (that's where it belongs) and temporarily protect it from the clownfish by covering it with a mesh divider. 2. I would look for a replacement for the clownfish in terms of a "home" - an anemone. But before buying an anemone, I recommend watching this video.

Christopher7213

Thank you for the advice! For now, I put the Trachyphyllia in the suspended sedimentation tank, there’s just no space at the bottom... There are two anemones, but Galia is spoiled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lindsay

If my anemone tapetum sets off, it won't cause any trouble. I've realized that anemones (quadricolor, horse, magnificus, etc.) are not suitable for my aquarium, and generally not for aquariums densely populated with corals. One day, it could cause a lot of trouble... My clownfish don't settle anywhere, they just hang out in the corner, digging a little hole, which I'm quite happy about. If they settle in a long-polyped sarc, it would be the perfect option for me. Clownfish live well in the aquarium even outside of symbiosis.

Alexander

Yes, I wasn't trying to make them sit somewhere, she decided on her own... regarding the movement - I read that it would lead to sadness, but they are so beautiful)) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Kathryn514

I would still find a spot at the bottom. At the top, under direct and close light, there is a chance of overexposing the coral.

Chris

I covered it with plastic on top to avoid overexposure; there is no spot at the bottom where it doesn't touch the glass and stones. The breeding box doesn't sit on the bottom at all; the aquarium is small, 120 by 40 cm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.

Yolanda

What kinds of anemones do you have? Maybe the clownfish mistook the Trachyphyllia for the Carpet (Haddoni) anemone? The shapes are similar...

John3142

Bubble anemones: common burgundy, green fluoro, and gorgeous orange-green, fluoro, but it is very small, 3 cm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Earl

The native anemones of ocellaris are carpet ones. Apparently, there was a mix-up.

Joseph6461

Oh, falling on the carpet would be too much.

Hid Trachiphilia, the village clown in calauстрею, ggggrrrr..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Christopher1252

Change the clown, or get rid of them... The care of the clown is also not good for the Kaloustery. Yes... a dilemma. What to do?

Angel628

I wonder if a gorgonaria can survive for a week without opening?... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jose

I found the seal, or rather, I adjusted it to fit the foam. The cup fit tightly.
