The choice is not rich, but I found something, for example, Aquamedic in 1000. What do you say, maybe someone has experience with this filter along with the skimmer? This is how I managed to put it together; I quickly made a stand so the little one wouldn't get into the sump. The aquarium is 450 liters, started with 35 kg of fresh live rock from Indonesia, 30 kg of CaribSea live sand, and I'll add another 10 kg to have a good layer of substrate. I placed 20 kg of dry coral rubble under the sand and about 120 liters of live water from active aquariums.

The skimmer is doing its job, producing foam, not much at the moment, there are few living organisms so far, whether it is effective or not, time will tell. I haven't found any real users, so I will write reviews. As for the balls, in my opinion, this is the best filtration system. Just think about the area where bacteria can live. I've seen these balls used in systems by professional manufacturers; they probably know what they're doing, or at least that's what I think. I have my own opinion about DIY solutions. I made some improvements; I moved the nitrate reactor to the cabinet, and in its place, I planted some grass and added live rocks.

And a piece of advice - install a pump for air suction on the overflow; otherwise, you may have problems. I didn't understand this, could you explain? The overflow works perfectly, the pump circulates 3500 l/h, so that much flows into the sump. I installed a check valve, and I pulled the air out through the tube during startup. What could be the problem here? Thank you.

Today I cleaned the filter and also checked the pump; it's an Eheim, 28 watts, with a capacity of 20 liters per minute. I think they installed everything correctly. Of course, it's a bit low for a ton, but 500-600 liters is quite sufficient.
