• AQUAEL ReefMAX lid repair/setup

Good afternoon! I have an AQUAEL ReefMAX aquarium with the original lid. The lid has a dial and three buttons. There are also 4 coolers (two on each side). Does anyone know how to program it? It seems that there is a light timer in it; how do I turn on the coolers? For some reason, the coolers are receiving 3 volts, while the coolers themselves are labeled 12 volts, and they are barely spinning (actually, only one cooler is working out of four - the others need to be replaced - they have rotted). Could these coolers be adjustable in power by voltage? Is it currently set to the lowest speed, which is why only 3 volts are supplied from 12? Or are the coolers not original - which is unlikely? The middle lamp is not turning on for some reason - there are two buttons for turning on the first and second lamps, but how do you turn on the third lamp?

Tina

I figured out the third lamp - there was a burnt starter block. Luckily, I had a spare and replaced it, and all three lamps started working. The question about the coolers still stands. Who was messing with the coolers in such covers? How do you turn them on and off? What current should be supplied to them?

What, has no one dealt with such a lid?

Is it not allowed to search for the manual on the Aquael website due to religion?

Daniel9952

I browsed the Aquael websites. I couldn't find the voltage and how to change the fan speed.

Lee

The speed is changed by PWM; you most likely measured it with a regular device. Inside, there is a controller that monitors the temperature sensor and adjusts the RPM. This is just a rough estimate; I haven't seen such a cover up close.

Wow! I can already work from this! I'll heat up the temperature sensor and try to measure the voltage on the cooler. Thanks for the tip!

Has anyone modified such a cover for LED diodes? The essence is that there are three daylight lamps in the factory, which are turned on by two buttons: one button turns on one lamp, and the second button turns on two lamps. These buttons also program the daytime light mode - automatic on and off. How can I preserve all these functions after converting to LED? Will everything work the same if I connect a power supply for the diodes instead of the starter for the old daylight lamp? It seems that all functions should remain operational...

Amanda

You should basically throw away all these buttons and lights) with the ice comes the controller that you set up once, and then you just look at the display; the controller will do everything automatically.

Is it like this?

Take a look at these two topics at a glance, also check the search, there are people here who make both lights and controllers, and everything together as a turnkey solution. Here are the photos of the light they made for me. The second photo shows the controller in the bottom right.
