Right after the membrane, I have a connection to the faucet; you can insert a flask with resin.

Anne

I think it should be set up like this: 5 microns, carbon, 1 micron, membrane otherwise the membrane will clog quickly.

David

Is a carbon post filter needed for the sea or is it only for drinking??? Why does everyone have it without it, with a membrane on the tap???

Ryan7682

After the membrane, only ion exchange resin. Post filter for drinking.

Can you provide more details? I have a three-way valve with resin after the carbon post-filter. How critical is this? The TDS after the resin shows 0.

To the membrane? Or is it not there at all?

Linda

I have a membrane, then a carbon post-filter, and then a tee. One line from the tee goes directly for drinking, and the other goes to the resin. After the resin, it goes to the aquarium. Is that okay? Or should the water for the aquarium not go through the post-filter? How critical is this? After the resin, the TDS is 0.

1. Three cartridges 5 microns, carbon, 1 micron 2. Membrane 3. Resin

Question about osmosis; According to the instructions, the rubber gaskets on the membrane need to be coated with silicone. Is this necessary????

Jeffrey

I didn't smear it, everything works fine.

Jason9385

Necessary. Why is silicone used for lubrication? First, it extends the life of the gasket itself; second, when tightening, it prevents the gasket from twisting and turning; and third, it makes it easier to unscrew when replacing the membrane. That's all, silicone grease has no other function. Some try to apply it thicker for sealing purposes, but this is unnecessary; it should be applied in a thin layer over the entire surface.
