Clean it as it got dirty. I do it once a week, but it is heavily lit (needs shading) and algae build up inside.

I'm not talking about the bowl, but about the engine and other things...

James

So I don't take the bowl out, I take it apart and wash the insides. I take the pump apart less often - depending on my mood.

It is sufficient to perform maintenance once every six months. If there are calcium deposits, you can rinse in pure vinegar without osmosis water.

Cheyenne2747

Basically, you need to clean the pump; the casing doesn't need much. If it starts to work worse, then it's time. For me, this is every one to three months.

It creates foam excellently, but it has become a bit noisier...

Devon107

This pump is contaminated.

Chelsea567

I think so. Can we put it (along with the pen) to work in a basin with osmosis and vinegar?

Catherine6534

Better to sort it out.

Sara4035

The pump was picking up debris from the rotor - one of the reasons for the noise.

Michelle13

There was an imbalance and noise appeared. The noise level of the pump depends 90% on how accurately the impeller is balanced and how well the shaft is fitted. According to Vitaly, the diameter deviations in the shafts of Chinese pumps can reach 0.1 mm from the optimum (4 mm), which is why they are so noisy. With precise shaft selection, even a decent power Atman becomes silent. I personally trust Vitaly; he won't spread nonsense.

Ah, I don't want to open this black box, but I have to...
