This is exactly what is planned. I found a suitable acrylic aquarium with a lid on the market. I have one too.

I don't know about the height, that's more for Sasha or Vitalik, and there's definitely nothing for the "cone" to do there!

Chad9037

Interesting statement.

Aaron580

The thing is that a cone is somewhat of a remnant of the old understanding of how a skimmer works, based on some not entirely clear concepts. The latest models confirm this; they do not have cones, but rather a straight pipe of quite a decent diameter, which allows for uniform distribution of pressure along its length due to the same cross-section at both the lower and upper parts, thus ensuring the stability and effectiveness of the foam separation mechanism's operating mode.

Tolya, sorry. I got the textbook on hydrodynamics. The pressure difference between the upper and lower parts of the cone is 0.00002 atm. The flow rate of the foam is too low (I assumed the foam moves at 10 cm/sec, and even that is a lot) and the density is too low (I assumed the density is twice that of air). The reason is not this. I think it's just easier and cheaper to manufacture the pipe.

James5032

There is such a thing I'm not inventing anything. The cone is already in place from the start. Replacing it with a pipe will be a bit tricky. Off-topic But still, I didn't create the topic for nothing!

Gabriel

Why bother? It's better to replace the device with one that has a straight pipe and a decent diameter.

To change, you need to UNDERSTAND what to change and why. Give it time. The "Sailor" hasn't even been a year yet.

Seryoga, I want to say one thing - the dry foam gets into all the cracks and even lifted the lid. As for the foam gun, I had no particular complaints about it. I never paid attention to this rudiment.
