The current Reef Octopus for your volume comes with a Sicce pump and is completely silent. You probably have an Atman pump on your skimmer, and the skimmer itself is a Chinese counterfeit. Original Reef Octopuses are manufactured in Australia and are not supplied. However, the pump can be replaced with the original one.

The concept of QUIET already contains a "mine" - the sensitivity of each individual aquarist's nervous system.
Then there are indeed technical aspects:
- pump
- skimmer design
If either of these is incorrectly installed, not cleaned, not secured, or if the axis is misaligned - there can be noise.
I assume that the 1060 is equipped with a DCS 600 pump. In my skimmer, there is a DCS 600 pump.
I believe that you clean the pumps and that the device has been running for a sufficient amount of time. What remains is the average perception of sound.
