Everyone who has used both devices is sure to prefer Deltec. Prism is worth purchasing, in my opinion, if you cannot obtain the MSE300 for some reason.

I created a social poll to see who will vote for what. I understand that Deltec is a more reputable company in the development of skimmers, but their model looks like a cheap Chinese product, although the reviews about it are good.

I thought you needed some good advice... But you are just having fun with surveys.

Jesse3979

I really need some good advice; I just need solid proof from users that the Red Sea skimmer won't work for me, that it's noisy and that no modifications can change that. I just really don't like how the Deltec looks.

Christopher1774

My Deltec looks like... like a basic children's construction set. But the foam (the right one) started to kick in two hours after turning it on. It's quiet. As far as I'm concerned, it can look like a coffee maker - the main thing is that it handles the tasks at hand. However, when I was working on the spare pump for it, I found the minimum price - 119 euros, on a foreign website, without shipping.

Red Sea is a tractor, there's no point in placing it two meters from the bed. Find a video on YouTube and compare the noise levels. Off-topic, do you have a 500 or 600 series? It has a similar AquaBee 2000/1, which is much cheaper at 119 euros. The rotor is not needle-like; you need either a 2000f pump or to fall back if your original is not 33 watts or if the shaft is removable. As far as I remember, a Maxi-Jet 1200 is installed on the 300 series.

What do they say about this on Aqua Logo? Are there real users of the Red Sea skimmer and their reviews? And where is it sold and for how much?

Emily3506

I saw it for sale here, and it seems that it can be ordered and brought in from Arovana.

I watched 2 review videos about Red Sea on YouTube. In both videos, the owners mentioned that one downside is the noise level. So I think Deltec will be better in this regard.

Dear.. you choose a skimmer based on noise level. I think skimmers are chosen for their specific sea conditions, load, livestock, etc. Choosing a skimmer based on noise is like choosing a car based on the color of your wife's handbag. You can manage with a small TMC V2Skim, or you can install a turbine from a liner.

Sara4035

If the pump has a performance margin for the aquarium, both the first and the second, I think we can also consider the noise level?

Elijah7048

I advise not to overdo it with the protein skimmer. Absolute zeros in phosphate/nitrate levels are not good. Moreover, a super powerful skimmer will remove all the plankton and organic nutrients from the water. The inhabitants will starve. Find a reasonable balance. In advance.

Laura7633

And how to choose a skimmer based on the volume? For example, what volume should this Red Sea skimmer be set for, as the descriptions always exaggerate the possible capacity?

Megan

I have a 25-liter Prism... And I don't think that's excessive for an aquarium... The inhabitants are not "starving."
