I use coolers to ventilate the cabinet. They turn on for one hour after an hour (on a timer). So far, so good.

Corey3201

Make ventilation from the cooler and you don't have to worry as long as it works.

I have such fans installed. I haven't turned them on yet, one door is open, there's almost no moisture in the cabinet, just traces of salt from the bursting bubbles. Even if I close the door, it won't make a difference; they have ventilation (striped).

Ventilation in the cabinet is good. But how should grounding be properly arranged? Can someone explain it simply? I'm not very familiar with electricity. I got a good shock once - that's enough for me.

Rachel

The thing is that grounding itself won't do much - it won't be you getting shocked (and that's not even a certainty), but all the fish and corals between the point of electrical leakage and the grounding (especially considering that most aquarium equipment doesn't have a grounding outlet on the plug). You need to additionally install a residual current device (there's a topic about it on our forum).

Nancy

Off-topic, listen, do you have time to send me that link about RCD? I'm swamped with work.

Experience shows that if there is ventilation in the cabinet, meaning there are sufficiently large holes in the back wall, everything will be fine. Recently, I removed sockets with wires that had been in the cabinet for over a year (ordinary sockets from extension cords) and everything is great. I am moving them to a new cabinet.

I'm sorry, could you please tell me where you bought (or maybe someone else knows where to get) the plastic grid in one of your threads? Thank you very much for your help!

Epicenter, Ventilation Department.

I placed the network filters on the side walls of the particle board, and there are no sockets inside the cabinet. The wires do spoil the neatness of the cabinet, but if there is a need to turn something off, you can access the necessary plug without opening the sump compartment.

Could you please tell me whether it's better to install the vents for intake or exhaust in the cabinet? If it's for intake, is there any point in using them for cooling? The cabinet has many gaps at the bottom. It stands on legs without a bottom, directly on the floor!

Joshua9847

we have on blow molding.

Natasha

And how does the wall at the back react? Salt, mold?

Andrew419

I want to hang two 120 mm fans on the humidity sensor. Also, if it makes sense to use them for intake, I was thinking that instead of using them only to maintain normal humidity in the cabinet, I could use them for cooling in the sump. Or is there no point in using fans for cooling in the sump?

Martha

humidity 48%, temperature 25.
