I replaced the stock Chinese one with this one and added a flow pump, and I also upgraded to an additional compact flow instead of the stock one.

Thank you, I couldn't understand what power the flow pump needed. But now I understand that around 1600-1800 will be fine.

I think that first we need to determine WHAT and WHO will be in the aquarium, and only then choose the current. Soft and hard - "that's two big differences." Especially for the DMS500. The stronger the current, the better - it's not a panacea...

Since this will be my first experience, I plan to start with only soft and the most undemanding corals.

In the DMS500, the Coraline Nano (900-1300L) will be sufficient for the aquarium, along with the stock fan (which can be replaced with a quieter one) in the rear compartment. The stock horns can be shortened; one "horn" can be directed along the back wall to blow air behind the rocks, and the other can also be shortened and directed at the front wall, as an option. You will still have to fiddle with the installation of the Coraline Nano in a suitable place when you are arranging the livestock.

I bought a Coral Nano 1600 and a Pico Evolution 1200. I'll play with the flow after I arrange the rocks.

In the main volume, it will be you and Koralya during the storm) save the mushrooms, or else the hungry will be left without food. The food won't reach the mouth with a stronger current... In any case, a situation may arise where, during feeding, you'll have to cut off the current for an hour or two. Well, half an hour to an hour = that's for sure.

Thank you, I will keep that in mind.
