Tracey

Look towards Iwaki.

David4089

Quiet and inexpensive? Where are these Iwaki pumps sold? I have Aqua Medic OR 2500 and 3500 pumps, and I can't hear them (they are quieter than VorTech MP10w ES), there are no alternatives at this price. This pump has a flaw; over time, when the power is turned off, it may not restart. The most reliable is the Eheim Universal Pump 1262, but its price is twice as high.

Amy5468

Is Ivaki sold officially? They must be expensive. Have you compared OR and PH directly? What are the differences between them? Their prices are almost the same, I don't understand what the difference is. I can only say that PH makes noise, and I don't remember OR, I haven't held them in a long time, they seem to be larger in size. Although in the thread about foamers, he said that PH is quieter and he uses them for foamers. Eheim is a bit pricey, I was wondering if there are any other pumps in the price range of Aqua Medic, or slightly more expensive.

Darrell7542

Official representative of Ivaki Dear. There are Chinese analogs of Resun.

Marie5735

Everyone is buzzing, some more, some less. The silicone coupling can reduce it to some extent. Only Grundfos pumps really operate quietly.

Karen81

Where can I get silicone disconnects? I once saw transparent hoses that looked like silicone, but they didn't seem very soft. I understand that they need to be quite soft. What are the Eheim Compact 3000 and 5000? The retail price doesn't seem much higher than Aqua Medic. Can they be used? Has anyone tried them?

Tracy4603

Which Grundfos products can you recommend?

Crystal4879

Grundfos needs to be worked on, and it seems that something is rusting in it.

Steven757

one 2570 crashed for unknown reasons, while the second one is working... there are some nuances with them, but they can be overcome

Jacqueline6670

Please advise, esteemed experienced marine aquarium enthusiasts, on specific pumps: Aquamedic RH-3000 or ENE!M SOMRACT-3000. Which one should I choose for return? There are mixed reviews about Aquamedic, and there seems to be nothing written about ENE!M. Has anyone used this SOMRACT?

Phyllis

The Aqua Medic pumps of the pH and OR series differ in that one is designed to be submerged in water, while the other can operate outside of water as a circulation pump. The ENEM SOMRACT-3000 is considered one of the most reliable pumps, although I can't speak for this model.

Vanessa6144

I don't know this model either, but you don't need Aquamedic... Still go for EHEIM.

Melissa2062

Here’s another interesting pump. The power/performance ratio is impressive. They put such pumps on the pens, but who knows how it performs on the return. The price is also something.

William5838

Many New Jets are used for returns, they seem normal. Has anyone used the Hailea OTP-1000 (HX-6520)? Does it make noise? What would be better for a return in a bedroom aquarium: Hailea 6520, New Jet 1200, Ferplast Blupower 1200, or Hydor SELTZ L30? I was also considering Atman, but I tried the RN-1100 and it makes noise. It's available, so as an option, I might keep it as a backup.

Diana7891

Hydor SELTZ, in my opinion, has a metal shaft.

Yolanda

and this is so critical Offtopic, I have a San-San stream with such an axis and a San-San-501 hanging filter, they've been installed for about six months, and there's not even the slightest hint of rust or any noise.

Jessica5016

I haven't held it in my hands personally, but there was information on the forum that the metal axles on Chinese streams can deteriorate over time, though I don't remember which models.

Crystal

I found another option. They say it's resistant to seawater. The price is reasonable, and the brand is well-known. Has anyone used it, or at least held it in their hands? What are the impressions?

Chelsea

In six months, the rotor will come out. The rotor does not get along with the sea. The result is the same for both pumps.

Diana3118

I have seen and observed the Hydor Seltz L40 pump, 2800 l/h, in operation for 8 months. It works completely quietly, without any complaints. I will definitely get the same one for my new M.A. 600 l + sump 250 l, which I plan to install by the end of April.

Ross

Is it really quiet? I want to get a new pump for myself too. My New Jet NJ 3000 sometimes makes such a low-frequency hum that it's uncomfortable to be in the room with the aquarium...

Jessica8898

Especially when all the aquariums are gathered in one 16 m2 room, and there are 8 assorted ones, with various pumps needed everywhere, plus a powerful compressor in the kitchen on the mezzanine, it adds an unknown frequency of noise. Before, it was like in a boiler room; now, after the overhaul and replacement of the loudest pumps, it has become quieter. But in general, we have gotten used to it...

Joseph6461

Well, at least I haven't seen quieter pumps for such power; those are the ones my fellow countrymen, the seamen, use. Ask them; they have tried many and settled on these.

Aaron580

The logo states that the quietest are the Deltake and its analogs, Grundfos, but the price is... Reviews for the Eheim 1260 and 1262 are contradictory - some say they are silent, while others say they hum. By the way, I'm also looking for a super quiet and inexpensive one for 1200 l/h, and I'm considering between the New Jet and the Hidor L30.

William1830

1200 hp, in my opinion, is quite quiet. If you need 2500 and more, then it's a problem.

Patrick4439

I have Atman 1100, Resan 2000, and Jebo 1100, and it somehow didn't work out with the silence.

John3142

The best option (although not cheap) is the Eheim 1250, the quietest pump I've seen. The Aquamedica OR 1200 is also practically silent. I don't know about the New Jet 1200, but I have the 2300 - it's a fairly quiet pump.

Chad4168

So you have higher standards.

Susan

I'm interested in who has the Hydor Seltz L30 pump, 1200 l/h. How does it perform? Will it be suitable for a return to a 600 l aquarium, or is it better to get a more powerful pump, the Hydor Seltz L40, 2800 l/h? After all, 2800 l/h is almost half the capacity; maybe 1200 l/h is enough? What does everyone think about this?

Amber1273

it definitely won't work (it will be fine for me at 160), especially considering the rise, and 40 at 2800l/hour may also not be enough for such a volume. by the way, for 600 liters I think we need something around four tons/hour. for 600 liters I think this one will be good.

Guy

Who knows what the difference is between Hagen Laguna Power Jet Free-Flo and Hagen Laguna Power Jet Max-Flo? I tried one of the lower models, I don't remember which one, the pump was noisy like all the others.

Mariah

The thing is that the pump, Hydor Seltz L40, 2800 l/h, works very quietly; you can't hear the pump even at night. I will probably stick with this one. I definitely won't take the smaller L30, 1200 l/h. I've made my decision.

Sydney

I will say it too. The Hydor Seltz L40 pump, 2800 l/h is an excellent, practically NOISLESS option!!! I have tried many pumps, I won't list them, but right now this is the one that stands out in the advertisement) I saw it in real operation in an active aquarium of someone. After long fruitless searches, I finally found one that is truly almost silent. My metal frame is not yet covered with anything, and we sleep just a meter away from the working pump, yet it doesn't disturb us at all. This has been personally verified by me, my wife, and our 11-month-old child.

Kellie

For now.... Wear on the rotor after N amount of time is inevitable, even in the ideal design of this device.... I'm writing as someone who has gone through self-preparation with Haidars a long time ago...

Daniel132

I won't argue, but the device mentioned above has been working for that person for quite a long time, and nothing has changed over time. The silence has remained the same. From my experience, I can only say that it takes time. But I also know that pumps usually "break in," and they typically become quieter in operation, while at the "end" of their life, they become unbalanced and, accordingly, produce undesirable noise.

Meghan

Off-topic. A year or two is not a long time...

Cassandra1840

I will say after some time (a year or two) when I "use it up," so to speak, "as it comes."

Julie

Nothing

Lisa

Again, a quiet pump is needed, but now not a cheap one. It should handle 8-10 tons per hour with a lift of 2.3 meters. Or is it better to have two at five? Deltec or Iwaki? Or is there something quieter?

Steven757

If the main criterion is silence, then two pumps of 4-5 tons/hour are always better than one of 8-10 tons/hour, as there are no completely silent pumps. Even Iwaki has a slight hum from the motor. As for Deltec, I can only mention that many European retailers have removed Deltec pumps from sale. Reasons? Any you like; the official website also has nothing in the circulation pumps section. There are no complaints, and spare parts for Royal Ex. can always be obtained (see the Red Dragon line), but Royal Ex. is a modification of the pumps. There are good reviews about ATK-MP, but their noise level is rated somewhere around that of Eheim 1262.

Jeffery7866

Can I ask a funny question? If you place two pumps in series, will the height of the water column increase? As I understand it, when they blow in parallel, the column doesn't rise...

Michele

I also support the idea of installing two pumps for reliability, but there's a point that smaller pumps usually have significantly reduced performance at high lifts, and a lift of at least two meters is needed. Is anyone selling Red Dragon and ATK? I also found a pump called New-Jet N8000. Has anyone used it? Are there any reviews about it? Does it make a lot of noise? Regarding performance, I might have overestimated a bit; maybe one of these will be enough, and I can get a second one as a backup.

Caitlin3279

here is the performance of Iwaki pumps MD30RLT/MD30RLXT/MD40RLT/MD40RLXT and MD55RLT/MD70RLXT/MD100RLT I do not know who sells ATK, as an option, try searching for these pumps on European eBay

Ronald

I want to clarify about Deltec. The manufacturer has discontinued all of its HPL pumps and is not producing them due to a transition to a fundamentally new internal design of the pump, using plastic and ceramics instead of metal. A new line of Deltec pumps has already been developed, and testing has been underway since early May. The manufacturer promises to launch the new pumps for open sale by the end of summer or early autumn.
