This way you can buy 2 Tunze streams and 2 VorTechs and see in one aquarium which is better!
Jenny
here!
James8887
What exactly do you want to discuss?
Larry
Discuss all the pros and cons of these devices, service, repair, warranty, price, etc. As a beginner in this field, and for other newcomers, I have one question in mind: what to buy to avoid making a mistake, since prices for everything are astronomical.
Christopher4108
Why don't you share your experience with the Tunze 6025?
Lee425
I only have experience with Vortex. Well, and with Tunze nanostreams. But these are incomparable things...
PS Are you interested in the Nanostream 6025?? If so, that's what I used before switching to Vortex. But as I already mentioned, these are completely incomparable things! Night and day, in other words!
Debbie3587
I have experience only with Tunze. Since August, I have two 6105 pumps and a 7095 controller. Before that, I only had Resun, Sansan, and Koralia 7 and 8. What can I say? It's a hurricane. I took a long time to adjust them so that the pumps wouldn't blow the sand off the bottom in an 800-liter aquarium (80 cm deep). They are positioned at opposite ends of the aquarium, at a depth of 15 cm from the surface.
Helen
I'm also thinking about such a set... 730 euros is certainly a bit "steep," but according to many recommendations, the set is excellent. As for Vortex, it's still a "dark horse." I haven't seen widespread use of them on the Log forum. Plus, the exposed guts are not very inspiring. But maybe I'm wrong... after all, I used to consider Corals the standard of quality.
Susan1358
The price of 730 euros includes 2 pumps 6105 and controller 7095, but as I understand, there is another option - Multicontroller 7096, which is a control device for all Turbelle® pumps with electronic motors, and it can control from 2 to 4 pumps, such as 6105, 6205, 6305, depending on what is needed (performance).
Emily3144
- What kind of Vortex do you have?
- Where did you buy it?
- How long have you been using it?
I found an opinion from Imir, what can you say about it?
Did you do a revision on your Vortex? I'm curious about its internal condition.
Amber9312
You're right, the quality of streams has dropped significantly over the past few years. This is a well-known fact. For the money that a stream costs, such quality is outrageous. And Vortex is a very reasonable alternative in this price range. As for the number of owners, that's putting it mildly, it's not a reliable indicator.
Barbara
Volodya, regarding the guts - it's not so simple with Tyunz either. The manufacturer doesn't offer any other mounting option besides using a magnet on the dry side of the glass. I have furniture that is flush against the aquarium on one side. I had to make holes. I described it here:
So, the Vortex is not more complicated to mount.
About the 7096 controller. It's cheaper because it doesn't have any control knobs. Everything is programmed through the USB port from a computer. As far as I briefly saw, there are no more modes.
Rebecca1419
2007. Pay attention to the rusty axle!
Taken from here
Tanya
To be honest, I didn't quite understand what you meant... what do you disagree with?
Bridget
I probably didn't express myself correctly... I completely agree! But they later replaced the axles with titanium ones.
Bryan1851
By the way, about alternatives to Tunze... there is such a thing as POLARIO... considering that it blows in two directions, the price is interesting... but it is NOT recommended to buy it YET... the product is "raw" - people are overwhelmingly complaining about the noise of the controller.
Alicia5489
This is her. An interesting thing!
Jenny
Yeah. That's the one. I think that this pump, considering the price, could be very popular...
Laura9093
A lot has changed since 2007. Now the axles are made of titanium alloy.
P.S. While I was looking for a link to the discussion of new pump versions, you all have already posted here :-)
Elijah7048
Nevertheless, constant complaints about the tuning allow for discussions about a lottery when purchasing for a considerable amount of money.
Karen1649
say
- what time did you get the Vortech MP 20 in September?
- where and how did you order it, on which website?
- how many days did you wait for the order?
- how did you pay?
Amber1273
There are just a lot of Tunza, while there are very few of the others. If you study the rejection statistics in any way, I think it won't be so bad.
Adam4310
What do frequent breakdowns, for example, of Koralia, make Tunze a reliable pump? "Not so bad" - does that mean it could be worse? If Tunze were priced like the Chinese ones that sometimes last longer, there would be nothing to discuss... But Tunze are not cheap. And when a person has several expensive pumps fail within six months, well, excuse me, the only decent words about Tunze are the prepositions "in" and "on."
Lee
295$. I ordered it on the website. It was sent to me here (individual). I waited 10 days.
Charles
Before Vortek, I had 2 Nanostream 6025 units. They worked for 4 months. There were no complaints about their performance. However, 4 months is not a long time...
Steven757
Thank you for the article! Very interesting result.
Barbara
- How long have you been trading VorTech?
- And how many returns have there been?
Jessica
On the website you provided, there is also this foam thing, although the price is quite high - $11.95.
Rita
This foam thing comes with a pump.
Heather9815
Oops, thanks for enlightening me.
Leah
The thing is, VorTek creates such a wide and soft wave that there is no need to direct it in any particular direction.
Bethany
Let's say in your aquarium there is no such necessity, but in another aquarium, it is impossible to create reflected water movement in a different way. It is not possible to place the pump in such a way that it does not blow out the corals, so the ability to change the direction of the flow without moving the bracket is still a significant advantage, at least for me.
Ryan2281
The whole topic is very similar to comparing Mercedes and BMW, which is better?! In my opinion, both pumps are very good. As we mentioned with Denis, we will soon bring in VorTech. Unfortunately, negotiations to lower the price for us poor folks were unsuccessful. However, they confirmed a one-year warranty on VorTech products. (Unfortunately, they don't offer the five years that some requested.) We will provide more details on how the pump is equipped, its cost, additional devices... as soon as we receive them.
David7773
Well, let's not exaggerate! No one is going to come to your house! You just send the faulty pump by mail, and they will send you a new one.
Tasha
Well, it depends on which dealer! They deliver and exchange at home. There is experience from my relatives in Cologne. Everything probably depends on the amount and frequency of purchases. Right now, there is a promotion until the New Year - 30 months of warranty. I think that if the Germans offer such a warranty, they are somewhat confident in the quality of their products.
Andrew4194
Very interesting! But all systems with external pumps are prone to leaks and the possibility of joint deformations through which all the water can "escape"... This is all homemade, not a calculated and fine-tuned "brand"... It's not often that you can find a current on an external pump, although it should be much cheaper than Tunze or Vortex toys.
Jessica5348
I will be brief. This is nonsense.
And there is plenty of it in the States! Including the best aquariums of the month.
I apologize for the bluntness, but your dogmatism is striking.
Jeffrey2277
I think this doesn't say anything! Apple, for example, gives a 1-year warranty on its products. Although their computers are among the best in the world!
PS Oh, and about pricing. You know, if Vortex with all its features cost 50-60 dollars, I wouldn't buy it! It would burn out in a month or two! I'm sure the Chinese will soon release a knockoff vaguely resembling Vortex. They won't be able to copy it... patents... So it will cost up to 100 dollars. I can only imagine the "quality" of this junk!
Natasha7622
1) What's the problem with the thick wooden beam?
2) On the first floor. Well, first of all, because the living rooms are on the first floor. And secondly, the ceiling beams in "cardboard" American houses don't have much load-bearing capacity.
3) Honestly, I didn't understand your unflattering tone about the external pumps. You were planning to create such a flow yourself. You even bought a pump...
Raven7170
Thick beam cabinets change geometry as they dry (I have personal experience with this). In the event of an aquarium breaking in a cardboard house, we risk soaking the carpet; if the aquarium is placed above the first floor, the risks increase with the number of floors. I have nothing against external pumps, except that discussing them in this context is inappropriate.
Emily3506
The "Aquarium Center," in my opinion, is the official representative of Tunze.
Selena4467
No one will come anywhere. By mail - YES, they will change it.
Monique1236
What is the warranty period you provide for the tunes?
Tina
Well, this is a complete mess!! Almost any topic raised on the forum ends up in some kind of disputes! Gentlemen, can we at least try to learn to communicate with respect and understanding for each other?
Nancy758
I just asked in post number 9 what is better.......as can be seen from the further discussion, people have a communication deficit :-)
We had a heartfelt conversation))))
Aaron580
Incorrect! The longer the warranty, the lower the quality. The consumer should be confident that when the product breaks down, and it will definitely break down, at least it will be repaired for free.
That is why in America, for example, Hyundai and other Koreans offer a 100,000 km warranty on their engines and transmissions. When they break down, they will be repaired for free. And nothing breaks down at Toyota, so why do they need such a warranty?
Daniel
When talking about Vortexes, don't forget to mention the quality of the material they are made from. This is important! Personally, I have no experience with the 6105, but I do with the 6025. What can I say? I was scared to pick it up every time. The plastic is so fragile that it bends under your fingers! Every time I washed the pumps, I was afraid to take them apart for fear of breaking them.
Amber6362
You are fundamentally wrong! This company was created in American universities by anything but amateurs! Maybe Vortex is a "dark horse" in third world countries, but in the USA, many people use these pumps! (I attend American aquaforums)
Rachel9060
I browsed through similar topics on the internet... Imperialists on various forums came to the following conclusion: The Tunze flow is relatively narrow, suitable for long tanks... + wavebox = super duper current. The Vortech flow is wide but less "long-range," making it well-suited for wide, not long tanks. A wavebox is unnecessary. It is irreplaceable for cubes.
Alec9378
Strange judgment)) Following your logic, Mercedes, BMW, and Audi (the three pillars of quality in Europe) offer the longest and most comprehensive warranties because of their poor quality? And for sports cars like the R8, M series, and AMG versions, there are even extended warranties with increased mileage (with a term of your choice)... it turned out to be an unsuccessful comparison with the automotive industry.
I spoke on behalf of the "third world"!!!)))
Which vortex did you buy? Did you install it on the side of the mangrove? (It seems you have no other place) How does it look with the "appendix" and the wire?
Erica752
I completely agree with you! And let's remember what warranty is offered on Bentley, Rolls Royces, Aston Martins, etc.!
Andrew4194
I bought the MP20 for another aquarium (in the office). Right now, it's temporarily placed in my aquarium next to the mangrove area. The wires are easy to decorate; let's not forget that there are also wires from Tunze. The appearance is better since only a small part of the pump is in the water, rather than a big monster like Tunze. It's better to have the "appendix" on the outside than on the inside.
Colin1418
I visited "Zoosphere 09" today, and at the booth of the guys from Aquiom, they had both 20 and 40 Vorteks. We opened the box and took another close look. What can I say, it's a great item; I took photos from different angles.
However, this option doesn't work for me in this aquarium, as I need a mounting system.
Robert1845
Is it true that 40 is making a crazy noise?
Caleb6320
What I have heard repeatedly is that the 40-watt pump, as I mentioned earlier, hums at maximum power in pulse mode, just like the 6105 does in the same mode. However, as soon as you reduce it slightly from maximum, the hum disappears. The 6105 pump, the photo of which I showed, operates at 3/4 of maximum and is completely silent.
Cassandra7840
New pumps are being installed on the stands. So, any new pump may hum a little during the first few days. Then it breaks in and the hum disappears. The same goes for Vortex. And if you properly balance the internal and external parts, it works very quietly.
P.S. I think it will fit perfectly in your aquarium! I'm judging by the photo.
Holly
For Peter, this has long been a closed topic. As far as I remember, Aquium has been selling these pumps for about 2 years. Moreover, their prices are very competitive. Good job, guys!
Alejandro
Pillars of the automotive industry, benchmarks of quality for mass automakers. What links are you providing? What is their meaning? It is quite foolish to claim that the shorter the warranty, the better and more reliable the product! Following your logic, ZIPPO lighters are among the lowest quality products in the world with their lifetime warranty, and Swiss tourbillons costing 200-500 thousand bucks are complete junk (with warranties from 10 years to lifetime)... There are countless examples, and you are fundamentally wrong in your assertions! Having a 30-month warranty instead of 12, I think we can agree, is much more pleasant!
Melinda
Thank you very much to everyone who participated in the discussion on this topic. Now, if a question arises about what is better, Tunze or VorTech, the answer can always be found in this thread. Personally, thanks to this topic, I have drawn some conclusions.
Thank you very much for the advertising: Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, etc. However, I do not agree with you on this; it's just your personal opinion. No matter how good a car is, don't forget the most important thing: safety. Volvo rules, and there's no arguing with that...
Melissa1838
Sorry for interrupting. Has anyone tried the Aquamedic stream in action?
Charles894
Come to the office at Timoshenko 13A. See for yourself the dimensions, performance, noise level, etc. It's better to see it once than to hear about it a hundred times.

Volvo, Ford. But where are the pumps?
Yesterday, the metal rod in my Nanostream 6045 broke by itself. The pump has been working for over 2 years.
Mark
How can a piece of metal break??? Is it rotten?
Todd8452
I'm shocked myself. It just burst at the base. I noticed it started making a lot of noise, even though I soaked it in vinegar and cleaned it a week ago. I took it out, and the metal pin just fell out.
Amanda
Maybe this is the result of vinegar and constant exposure to saltwater? Could vinegar somehow interact with seawater/salt? It sounds like a fairy tale!
Danielle8118
What a fairy tale. Metal rods are not meant to survive in a marine environment. I didn't even know that the nanostream has a metal rod.
Jeffrey496
In my Nanostream 6025 (2 units), the same thing happened, but these were the first batches that were completely defective. I wrote about this earlier, and now it seems they have resolved this issue.
Joseph
Metal varies from one type to another; for example, the axle of the Maxi Jet or New Jet made of stainless steel has been serving without problems for many years. And if we consider titanium alloys...
Kathleen
Hi, Stas!
Given our long-standing collaboration, we won't fool each other.
On the forum, many have tried to claim that the metal rod on the Coral pump rusts and is not durable.
I, having sold over 5000 Coral pumps since 2006, can authoritatively state that the coating on the rod, which is presented to us as rust, is nothing more than coraline.
I can provide photos of pumps that have been in operation since 2006.
Rodney
Right now, I have a VorTech MP 40 in my aquarium. Previously, I had a Tunze 6025 nano stream controlled by a controller + a Resun Waver. Nothing compares to the VorTech. The pump really takes up less space, and the options for its settings are simply impressive.
Jesse
Isn't that a bit too much pump for a 350-liter volume? Does it not blow up the sand? How noisy is it?
Michelle1662
from the first to the eighth) are exclusively with ceramic rollers.....Supplier - the company "Triplex" Dnipro.
What metal are you talking about???
Leonard
Doesn't the Tunze have a magnetic mount? How loud is the Vortec? If the pump is placed 3 meters away from the head of a sleeping person, is it noticeable? Is the sound low-frequency or more like the whirring of toy cars with motors?
Andrea
About 2 or 3 years ago, in the summer, at an exhibition in Kyiv, I bought the 4th Coral from the company "Triplex." They were reluctant to sell it and didn't know the exact prices, but we reached an agreement. Then, a little later, I bought another identical Coral second-hand. None of them lasted more than six months. They simply stopped working one after another. The shafts were metal, and there were no signs of corrosion. I installed a replacement from a Hydor Maxi-Jet block, and it has been working for several years. Maybe the first batches really weren't of good quality?
Sorry for talking about Coral, but my negative experience with pumps really upsets me.
Michael5242
There are people who have had their $250 stream die, not just a $60 coral, and now they grimace and sneer at the word "tunes." I guess it depends on luck. I have been working with Triplex for over a year in the supply of pet products. As a wholesaler, they provide me with guarantees on corals. All the pumps I bought for myself and sold to others were exclusively ceramic. They worked quietly and restarted without any issues. I am very pleased with their low price and constant availability. Yesterday, I was using the 12-volt version of the fourth model, the one that comes without a controller. It's a great little thing, and they even include a spare shaft in a little bag.
Kenneth7210
Who can tell me what they mean by upgrading from a 20 pump to a 40 pump?
Beth3383
This refers to the upgrade of the control unit to 40W. This upgrade allows the unit to subsequently control the second pump in Master-Slave mode (when both pumps are turned on alternately). This is implemented via some wireless communication.
Michelle
There is a toy available in Wireless, and we will be experimenting with it next week.
Cheyenne2747
It means there was the MR20, and after the upgrade, it became the MR40. The difference between these models is only in the controller. In addition to the Master-Slave mode, wireless connectivity offers another advantage—wireless software updates.
Breanna9982
I have an MR40W, is there a firmware update, how is it done?
Tami
With the presence of the senior model in the line, the pump-MR40W, it is no longer possible to replace or update the software. The junior models in the line simply did not have one mode—the ability for wireless synchronization, and that's it!
Tracy
You are right. The first-generation pump software is being updated to the second generation. It seems that's all... Although that's also an update.
Tracey
I would sell at least 5000 pumps for the online store, I would splurge))) Authority)
Katie5500
From my experience, I can say that Tunze has become spoiled and started producing junk... dealers are being unresponsive, they really don't replace defective products, and the prices are not cheap, it's frustrating... Vortech is a good thing, but before buying, it's better to listen first. And now the question is - what should I install????????????? There are two options - see for yourself or listen to someone you trust.
Frank7213
double2. By its own.
Jill9137
Why do I need an online store, if I may ask? Or do you think that any of the existing online stores today can sell 5000 pumps of one model from one manufacturer? If yes, think again! There is a word - WHOLESALE.
Chelsea
How does this relate to the topic of comparing two manufacturers?
Stefanie9771
So, I thanked everyone, but I still have questions))) I'm getting one 20 with the option to upgrade (I still don't understand what to tell the electrician) and another 20 - I will upgrade them (oh god, does this word decline???)))))) and I get one 40 pump? Question: what's the point of the money if 2 twenties equal 1 forty? Or am I just being slow and one 20 turns into a 40?
Katie5500
With the new control unit, you will turn 20 pumps into 40. This pump will control the second pump, the flow of which will be mirrored and synchronized with pump No. 1. What is the volume of your aquarium? What are its dimensions?
William1830
1800 length, 850 width on the right side and 400 on the left. about 900 liters ...maybe a ton..
Joseph2576
After testing, we can confidently say that the VorTech pump is the number one product. Price, quality...!!! It is pleasing that we managed to reduce the pump's cost for the market to a minimum... I think for the MP40W - $450 and a one-year warranty is very, very good!
John3142
Thank you for such a detailed response. Now we just need to find one and a half thousand that aren't ours and we're good to go. The upgrade option is certainly interesting.
Brandon4517
Is 460 with the controller or just the pump itself? Are there sets, for example, two pumps + a Wi-Fi controller? And what about the discussed upgrades to 40x?
Devon107
This is about the MP40W pump. A Wi-Fi controller is needed for the MP40 pump (it is also available). We do not stock the MP40 pumps... The MP40W pump costs $450 - it comes with a controller that has several modes. Here is the description, unfortunately, it is currently in English. The translation will be available soon.
Aaron580
Promotion on VorTech MP-10 pump

Chad9037
Marindepo now has pumps with the new driver available for sale. This is especially good news for those who wanted the MP10 pump with remote control. For forum members, I can offer the new pump with the new driver at the old price of $195 plus shipping.
Nicole263
Can someone write what the maximum performance (l/h) is for MR-10, MR-20, and MR-40 respectively?
Anthony4281
MP10 - ~6000 l/h
MP20 - ~7000 l/h
MP40 - ~12100 l/h
PS There is an official website where you can find this information.
