IMHO, the Deltec MCE600 is definitely better! I have the Deltec MC500 (they are almost identical), it is practically silent, and I am satisfied with its performance (the skimmate is the color of strong brewed tea).

I am currently using either the Deltec MCE 300 or the Red Sea Prizm Deluxe 400 in one aquarium for an experiment. There's no need to mention the noise of the Prizm (it sounds like a tractor), but it managed to keep the aquarium running for a year without issues. The Deltec is much quieter, and the quality of its skimming is significantly better, but it produces less skimmate than the Prizm. As far as I know, the Deltec MCE 600 is significantly better than the 300. So the choice is not even a question.
