all Aquamedic products are just wasted money

Aqua Medic remains stationary and constantly falls behind; their pricing policy is simply terrible! To be honest, the skimmers are unfortunately not worth the money either. Right now, for 200 euros, there are many other alternatives. For example, a simple homemade foam collector on a Deltec pump kept my aquarium running for 1.5 months with a decent load. The same goes for other equipment... I think many will support me regarding this company's products. By the way, their combs are good.

The fact that it pulls less with the same pump is due to the fact that the pump here performs two functions - it draws air and pumps water, raising it from the level in the sump to the level in the skimmer. In Shoti, water is supplied by a different motor.

By the way, the auto refill Am impressed me more (strangely enough) than Tunes..... Which broke down, the pump jammed, after 1.5 months - AM has been working for almost a year without any issues.

Thank you, gentlemen - I've drawn my conclusions!

Yura, don't worry, Aqua Medic products always find their buyers; it's just that this model of skimmer doesn't quite meet the needs of a reef aquarium with a large number of corals, but it may be suitable for a fish aquarium.

Today I requested this information from the central office of Aqua Medic, and after receiving a response, I will write on the forum.

Dear, I did not intend to question your intelligence. This conclusion was drawn by me from your message.
Sincerely
Tammy
The main criterion by which one can judge how a skimmer works is the volume of the foam above the water. The volume of the air being drawn in does not always indicate quality performance; with a large bubble, the volume can be significant while the foam is minimal.
In this design, the foam occupies the volume from the base of the foam collection cup to the edge of the nozzle, and that is the maximum. It is very easy to measure—remove the cup, turn it upside down, cover the nozzle with your hand, and pour water from a measuring container into it. I can estimate that there is not a liter, somewhere around 0.5-0.7. The shot is 1.5 liters. And this is everything that AM has produced over the years; it would have been better to have an abortion.

I fulfill this promise. The delay in providing information is due to the participation of AQUA MEDIC employees in the INTERZOO-2008 exhibition. Based on the information received from the AQUA MEDIC headquarters, the air intake for the following models is: Turboflotor BLUE 3000 with pump OR 3500 – 300-350 liters/hour. Turboflotor 5000 Shorty Compact with pump OR 3500 – 450-500 liters/hour. I think we can now close this topic.
Best regards.
