You don't need to worry about the moon, it's pointless. A 20000K LED bulb is a must. T5 is essential.

Jonathon8514

I like the moon. You put a couple of blue or white LEDs and have a night light. I like the lamp, it's well made, and the 20K bulbs from BLV shine well, I like it.

Personally, I prefer lamps with a temperature of 14000K from BLV or Coralvue. 20000K lamps have a very strong emission in the actinic range and provide quite harsh light, which not all corals appreciate, and the eyes get very tired from such light, which is also quite important.

Where can I buy BLV or Coralvue? And what about Aqua Med and Silvania? I'm preparing to set up a 90x40x60 aquarium; will 150W MH and 2 T5s be enough? What spectrum of T5 is better to buy? Thank you!

Jason9952

Don't take Silvania, the lamps don't hold the spectrum well, there's a lot of green and yellow... and the quality of the lamps isn't great... Aqua Medic has decent lamps, they can be used. I don't know where to buy them... maybe someone else can suggest... T5 lamps are usually actinics, for example OSRAM T5 FQ ... W/67 HO or AquaMedic T5 ... W / Actinic Blue...

There are bulbs for aquamedic - aqualin T5, Reef Blue, and Reef White. Are they good with MH?

Heather9815

Hello! I haven't come across such names, but I think it's just a marketing move... Reef Blue is the same as Ocean Blue (Actinic Blue), and Reef White is Ocean White.

BLV can be bought from Sasha a. Aquamedic in Arovana.

Where is this?

He made a lamp for me, and I was satisfied.
