What is actually being discussed? About the external or?

Melinda

Hmm... Indeed... Interesting question... The aquarium startup system certainly implies a large volume of beer in the process...

Veronica

Oops... I apologize. I understand now. The question was just posed a bit abstractly... Please forgive me, aqualamera, I will be more careful in the future.

Here it is, the chasm of thinking between "sailors" and "freshwater fishers." Each has their own train of thought.

Allison

Yeah, I also didn't pay much attention that it was about the sea.

My ratio is 560 liters in a 1000-liter system; if I could, I would make it twice as much. The more water in the system, the more the aquarium will please you (of course, with the right approach). I completely agree with Dima. If a person wants to get the most out of a marine aquarium, they need a storage room for equipment (fish room) behind the aquarium.

Monica

Always do the maximum possible. In the future, there will be many more things you want to include, and there won't be enough space!

Sheila

Hello, sea lovers!!!! You said something great about beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As for the size of the system, I think that the more water there is, the harder it is to mess up the conditions, throw off the parameters, temperature, salinity, and also to add more equipment, a chiller, a stronger skimmer, a calcium reactor, and a UV sterilizer, and a lot more..... The only thing I know is that the more stable the aquarium parameters are, the better it is for our beloved pets!!!!

CHEBUGREN Please give your contact information so we can get in touch, for example, ICQ!!!!!

I looked at your website and have a question - you called the cassette biofilter a nitrate factory and removed all biofiltration. Are there only live rocks in the aquarium, reefs covered with biofilm? Were there no spikes in ammonium nitrogen or nitrites? The contents of the aquarium are also a factory for nitrate production.

Christopher8654

the system is located under the aquarium, so the dimensions are limited. but if it's possible to place the sump elsewhere, then of course it's ideal to calculate it larger; who knows what else you might want to put there later or connect an additional aquarium (there's no such thing as too much water).

Leah

You know, there have never been any jumps. J.K. (living stones) is managing...

Tracey

But nitrates are also produced by them/ ЖК/, miracles do not happen. It's also a NO3 factory. And in the sea, you can certainly manage without an artificial biofilter. BUT a coral reactor is still necessary for buffering.

Brian6895

Hmm, the Haagi aquarium came to my mind - without a skimmer, without a calcium reactor, without a kalkwasser, without sensors, without a refugium. It used to be - it's been a year since I took it down. And what do you say about this? Miracles?

Danielle9144

I have two aquariums that have not been cleaned for almost a year on Igor Obolon's recommendation. There is about a ton of water left. The sump is turned off. No cleaning at all. I just continuously blow ozone into one of them. The fish are happy, exhibiting spawning behavior. Here are my hands!

The process of converting NO2 to NO3 occurs with the participation of oxygen - this transformation is observed on the surface of live rocks, soil, glass, pumps, etc. In the process of denitrification, nitrates used by denitrifying bacteria instead of oxygen are converted into nitrites, ammonium, nitrous oxide, gaseous nitrogen, and released into the atmosphere. The denitrification process is anaerobic (without access to oxygen). It takes place "inside" live rocks and DSB.

Pavlik - Nobel Prize!!! Anaerobic processes will never occur in an aquarium. It will no longer be an aquarium but a septic tank.

Open Ivonov's book "Reef Aquarium," 1. read page 62 starting from the fourth paragraph. If you don't have the book or it's "too much trouble" to open the right page - below is a fragment of the text (photo 1). So, if there are no problems with nitrites in the aquarium, I don't see the point in installing an additional tank for a biofilter. But if there are "many" creatures in the aquarium, then a biofilter is simply essential. 2. open page 94 of the same book. And read from the second paragraph (there's a photo 2 of this paragraph below) - you read it - the Nobel Prize goes to YOU!!!

Julia

And I'm supposed to believe this? Is this some kind of apologist for marine aquaristics? For example, people still let the water sit before changing it, having read... And I specialize in water purification in aquasystems, so I know a bit about it.

Kathy

I don't really care whether you believe it or not... But probably, if this book is published, it will be the BEST!!!

Kevin3579

I am not a sailor. I can believe that there can be closed pores where anaerobic conditions are locally created. But how will the water-gas exchange occur with these closed zones, or rather, what is the speed (and consequently the efficiency) of this exchange? As for the quality of books, Kasselman's book is good, which does not prevent it from having controversial points. The same goes for any book. I heard a story that even the British Encyclopedia was published with a mistake in the title at one time. Although I repeat, I am not a sailor and may be mistaken.

A book is a book, and practice is practice, and you can't escape it.
