You should only use special salt, that is, for aquariums. Only there are the components of the necessary purity. What you bought is either for food use or for baths. Everything else is fine. Is the stone limestone, and is the sand taken from the sea? Is there no way to check the salinity?
Cheyenne2747
salinity 1.024. Measured with a hygrometer or whatever, well, it floats like a float, and there the mark is 1.023-1.024... sand and limestone from the sea will be on Sunday... for now, a piece of regular limestone... and what are the consequences of using salt for baths?
Derek7322
Do you have a photo of the salt? The packaging? What does "the same composition" mean?? It says "ca 450, mg 1250"??? Or is this your assumption that it is the same?
Ryan
The salt must be special so that it does not contain phosphates or silicates.
John
It is not regulated by composition for marine animals. That is, it is NOT suitable at all. Regarding rocks and other things... do not put anything in the aquarium that is not "marine." Even marine items are not all suitable, and what has not been in the sea is even less so.
Maria
Yes, the packaging indicates how much of each component there is... I think there are 7 elements... I can give you the exact amount in the evening... when I get home... I found the composition of seawater online... of course, there are more components, but the main indicators match... Ca, K, Na, Cl, Mg, Mo.
Melanie
And what if we completely fill it with seawater? Or at least halfway... brought in canisters...
Heather6148
Don't buy expensive brands, but salt is necessary for salting the water for a marine aquarium. This bucket will be enough for 200 liters (40 at startup, then you can decide how often to do water changes). Is this amount manageable? Because if not, then there's no point in having an aquarium, as you'll need at least a basic set of tests (pH, nitrite/nitrate, phosphates - at a minimum, since these can fluctuate in a mini tank and need to be measured), and that will also cost around 400.
You can use seawater (how long will it be transported? More than 2-3 hours? Will there be circulation?). However, you'll still have to do water changes, and since you have a mini tank, water changes are everything for it.
James
Here is great salt and it's not expensive at all!
Kenneth2761
I agree... salt is not expensive... I'll buy it... what's next? I'll hammer it... can I use stones from the sea? Or do I need to buy them again?
Robert
Have you at least bought tests for ammonium, nitrates, and nitrites? You can add stones from the sea, but it's still preferable to throw in at least 2 kg of good live rock; the rest can be supplemented with dry rock. It's not worth adding sorbents at the beginning; you should add stability after placing the live rock. Read my thread; I think many of your questions will be answered there. I recently set up my tank, and you'll find answers to many of your questions there.
Anthony4281
I haven't bought any yt... no money... for now, I'll practice on the bullheads... anyway, I won't buy either corals or anemones... everything is at least 400. Once everything settles down and I get my teeth into the needlefish and bullheads, I'll buy a couple of damsels.
Brandy1134
They are talking about a plant... what kind of plant can be started?
Chris
Have you visited the marine flea market? There are a bunch of small coral frags for 80-100-150, and the larger colonies for 400 are sold in stores for big aquariums. For an aquarium like yours, you can buy 4 different corals for 400!
Katherine
another question ... what will a beginner have to KEEP ALIVE? what is the most unpretentious?
Helen
Who is Marchenkov? What can you buy from him?
Debra
Here is Sergei's website, where you can find contact information. Write, call, and inquire.
Martha
So, can we plant the first one? And the site of Marchenkov seems suspicious... no live bait or stones... just chemicals, nets, and traps for worms. And if this company is located in Obolon... then it's even worse... Yesterday, at the bird market, Gorobchuk was saying that there's a familiar company in Obolon... that everything is cheap there, half the price... that there are specialists... but then it turned out that the specialists are not that great... and the prices for wild fish are such that even our bred fish won't make it... not to mention corals and anemones... let alone live rocks.
Phillip9722
They have their email there, send a request, and they will send you the price list with the availability of animals.
Jose
The price is there... everything is in Latin... I will order something cheaper... and it turns out to be some kind of... I would like to know what to plant to start with. So that it lives... what kind of plant can be... what kind of animal...
Melissa
I think apathy is a cool thing... but where can I get it?
Daniel132
So what should I do with the dry limestone? Should I take it out?
Jade
Have you read it?
Cheaper doesn't mean that everything is bad. Only if you buy it and then don't know what to do with it - that's bad. At the moment, there's no need to buy livestock. Figure out the launch first, and then everything will fall into place. The same posts in the thread will become clear, and together we will launch the system.
Larry
I read it... I think I understood a little... just one question... should I take out the dry limestone or let it be... I trimmed it so beautifully... that the empty aquarium turns into a painting.
Stacey4437
You are a strange person. Copy Latin into Google and immediately you will get pictures and other information. Over time, you will easily be able to identify animals in Latin.
Matthew1280
It almost always comes with live stones. For a person who has no living creatures, it's a cool thing, but unfortunately, only for them.
Selena4467
Yes, Latin with pictures from Google... the other question is whether it will live with me... here is Semphizodon - a beautiful fish... put it in a beginner's aquarium... what will happen? That's what I'm talking about... I'm addressing knowledgeable people... tell me what can live with me...
Matthew7977
... In bath salts, when water parameters are not met, on limestone from the construction site - only Aptasia and a couple of similarly appealing animals. Unfortunately, nothing from tropical fish and corals, which are accustomed to perfectly clean water, will survive. That's it.
Julie4738
Stock your aquarium with 2 Amphiprion ocellaris and 1 Solaris fasciatus or Synchiropus splendidus; it is not recommended to add more to a 40-liter aquarium.
Angel628
Please provide answers to the following questions:
1) Volume of the aquarium (its dimensions)
2) Characteristics of the stand/cabinet
3) Is there a sump? Its characteristics.
4) Filtration (what is available)
5) Protein skimmer (what is currently available)
6) How many kg of dry reef rocks have you prepared?
7) What type of sand/gravel? How many kg?
8) Is there a financial possibility to buy real live rocks? At least 5 kg (not just additives for starting).
9) What pump is available for internal water circulation in the aquarium?
Gene1948
Dear, you shouldn't make such quick and unpleasant conclusions. Do you want to set up a sea? But at the same time, not spend anything? It won't work; you can't do it for free with makeshift materials, it leads to disaster for everything, and most importantly, I see you don't even want to delve into it. It seems that the topic was created by you or under someone's guidance for another escalation of emotions in the maritime theme. Listen to the sailors; they mean you no harm and are trying to suggest the right direction, which you continue to ignore.
Amber
I get the impression that you are running ahead of the train; people are trying to help you, but it seems you are unwilling to accept that help. Why think about the livestock when the aquarium itself is still uncertain? First, you mentioned that you bought household salt and added limestone to the aquarium, and without resolving that issue, you are already interested in livestock. You need to address the situation strategically. Tell us what kind of aquarium you have, what its volume is, what equipment you have, whether there is a sump, etc. ............. They will advise you on how to set it up; let the aquarium mature a bit, and then you can think about the livestock. ............
Chad231
Divorce is.
James
Offtopic Do you think this is the work of them again?
Gabrielle5053
I thought about him only if it weren't for him.
Brandon4517
Offtopic Something about the style seemed familiar to me... Or maybe another "Cossack" is carrying out a "special mission".....
Kristen2246
I was a bit misunderstood... I want to invest money and not lose it... in my 20 years of bland experience, I've seen a lot... I've dealt with a lot... a lot of scams with discus fish. You buy expensive fish... and it turns out to be culls... and a decent amount of money is thrown away... that's why I'm asking knowledgeable people... I'm really trying to understand—do you know the saying?—while Vasya thinks, he eats... I'm not ignoring anything—it's all being processed and aligned into one line. This topic has really helped me. Thank you to everyone who gives advice...
Robert800
So, do I really need to throw out the limestone? What does it do to the water? The salt from the Seachem... I've gathered some chemicals... I think I'll stick to the parameters.
Samuel6138
Thank you for at least understanding... and a question... they advise to take fish that are bred here... and to forget about corals and anemones for now.
Alan273
You didn't have money for salt before, but now you're planning to "promote" Stability and Purigen. Don't spend on that yet. It's good that the live rocks have matured. Limestone from the construction market can leach silicates, phosphates, and a bunch of other nastiness.
David4968
Of course, there were no 400 grams of salt... I found 40 kilos. It's something that can't be taken, but Matrix Carbon and Purigen are available in 20. It seems like it can be managed. I understand—I will throw away the limestone... As for the live rocks, there is simply no choice... without them, nothing will work.
Kimberly3727
+1000
Joshua9847
Everything feels strange... The prices for everything are completely different. Was there ever a boy? Hmmm... Please send a photo of the aquarium and equipment.
Kevin3114
You will still go to Kyiv for live rocks, so wait for either a new shipment from him or see what he has left in live rocks right now. But it's better to take stones from the new shipment, 2-3 kg, and 3-4 kg of dry reef rock, and you will have 7 kg, which means you can create something beautiful from them.
Michelle1505
If you add live sand from an active aquarium to your 40-liter aquarium, take 30 liters of live water from there, and add 5 kg of live rocks, then wait a day for all the cloudiness to settle, I think you can agree with the general consensus and introduce a couple of fish; nothing bad will happen to them.
Nicole2404
I think 4 kg will be enough for this volume... I'll try to get only live ones.
Alexandra
Thank you... I have already understood a lot... but I'm not trying too hard... I was just getting frustrated to myself... I also have a book about the sea... but everything is about chemistry... and I want to show myself that it can be done without chemistry... but if something suddenly goes wrong in a 40-liter aquarium, it won't be as disappointing as in a 150-liter one... and I can always find a place for a small one... I have three kids—they will also practice.
Eric
Tomorrow there will be stones.. I will lay them out.. take a photo.... I wonder how much the stones are at Marchenkov? - in CA, 112 each. - basic - 144 - basic red...
Angela7060
Without chemicals, it's possible and necessary! The chances of survival are twice as high in a 150L tank compared to a 40L one. As for quartz sand, forget about it; it will settle and become anaerobic. It has a lot of weight, but you need it to be alive, with living organisms, and it should be porous and light. Regarding the fact that you have three children, I also have three, along with three marine aquariums of 300, 450, and a new 700 liters, plus a dog, a chameleon, and four tarantulas (and a young wife). All of this is in a typical Khrushchyovka.
Laura4892
Quartz sand in a marine aquarium... cool, very cool... Surely the person who wrote this on the package won't put it in their aquarium. Instead, they will use aragonite sand, which is sand made from coral skeletons, and will admire it as a natural addition to their marine aquarium. And you will be left with only problems...
Catherine6534
It costs 160 per kg, but this is really quality live rock, while what they have in the Central Asia seems to "revive" dry reef rock using some kind of chemistry and then sell it as live rock.
Brianna
Note:
When buying J.K. (live stones), it is impossible to buy exactly 2 kg. You will have to take a little extra, regardless.
Alyssa6727
Cool... I'll deal with the sand... I'm thinking of going for live rocks... because today they brought stones from the sea—nothing good.... only one is somewhat normal, about the size of a lula... otherwise, I'll throw them away and not regret it (they're covered in brown algae). I left them for now—let the critters crawl into the aquarium... then I'll throw everything out. I'll keep one stone with a stem of brown plant. It will be food for the carp and turtles—I was surprised they eat it... apparently, they are lacking some vitamins...
Jennifer5371
We'll have to do it... otherwise, one piece of trash was brought from the sea.
Joshua3019
Yesterday I took a photo... I kind of felt that nothing would come out with the stones from the sea—there's a filter on top, and in the right corner, there's an internal filter. Behind it, there's a foam maker... it works fine—even in the photo, you can see that there's no foam. Although I set the compressor to 400 liters, it bubbles like crazy... I turned on the blue light because my wife was sleeping and the aquarium is right next to it... so I used a bright light to avoid waking her up...
April3499
What kind of light do you have?
Brian6895
white fluorescent - not turned on in the photo... and the LED is blue
Javier5186
Yesterday morning, I placed a stone with algae... by evening, everything became cloudy and dark... should I take any action?
Tara2761
Listen, if this is not a prank and you really want answers, then write briefly like this:
1. Salted with such-and-such salt - on such-and-such date. Salinity is such-and-such.
2. During such-and-such period, the water became clear on such-and-such day.
3. Tests showed such-and-such results.
4. Decided to add a stone... the water became cloudy, tests show this much...
Otherwise, it's hard to understand, as if you salted it yesterday and added the stone with algae yesterday as well... What stone? How was it transported? How long? Was it rinsed before being added if it was transported for a long time?
Mariah
Here it comes. The fuss has started, what did I say? This is just the beginning. Here you have tap water, salt from the pharmacy, sand maybe from the sandbox, stones... You will still have to endure and get nervous, and if you don't change your mind, you will do it the way everyone told you. No hard feelings. But this was to be expected.
William
The sea salt from Seachem doesn't work anymore, and distilled water doesn't either, and coral sand doesn't either—I've replaced all of this based on your advice... so why bother spending money when the result is the same as with the basic materials (by the way, the water became lighter after a day).
Kristen2246
Those who gave advice are already to blame for suggesting the wrong things, so why are you spending money? Buy salt at the grocery store, take sand from the sandbox, and get water from the tap... since the result is the same, it's definitely "a Cossack sent."
Chad231
I'm not blaming anyone, everything is fine... the water is already getting clearer... as for what you have in your heads, I don't know about those Cossacks.
Brandon9634
Wow, what a valuable gem I found - all sorts of creatures have come out, and mussels are running around - I need to rush to the beach, otherwise, only a couple of worms have emerged from the first Black Sea J.C. (living stones).
Kenneth7331
No, I wrote earlier that he still pressed me with algae... there was a lot of this small stuff... at first, I thought I would pick it out, but then I saw that I would just waste time... so I threw everything into the aquarium... and in the evening, I took out the algae. I left the stone - the algae were brown, and apparently, that's what gave the water its brown color... thank you for not blaming me at least.
Daniel132
Why blame? You yourself were carrying stones from the beach - nothing gets cloudy, especially not from brown algae - unless they have rotted, of course - by the way, that's probably agar-agar...
Tammy
Well, probably not as much as I pushed, right? A 5-liter bucket is tight... well, it has a bit of a smell... will it settle down? Or should I pour it all out? It's a pity about the salt... and I distilled the water for three days...
Courtney
I was the first to launch M.A. on live Black Sea sand and stones, plus shrimp, polychaetes, and hermit crabs with little dogs, and there was no turbidity, nor any lower organisms. Everything smoothly transitioned into the tropics without hassle, and it continues to thrive to this day.
Jacob4800
The thing is that the water isn't cloudy... it's turned brown... this morning it was barely noticeable that it was brownish... I've been adding stability for the third day now... the foam has started to rise... today I need to finish the foam filter... it seemed that when the aquarium was empty, there was no foam, but when the little bugs started crawling, bubbles began to come out through the small holes at the bottom of the foam filter... I'll seal the gaps with silicone... but for now, I'm satisfied... everything seems to be working out... next week I'll go for dry reef rock... and I'll buy some salt... and at the end of the month, I'll go to Marchenkov for live rock.
Melissa1838
From your posts, I understood that you were brought stones with algae from the Black Sea coast, you planted them in an aquarium, and soon the water turned brown. So, first of all, you need to know exactly which algae from the Black Sea can normally thrive in a tropical marine aquarium. Surely, you were given cystoseria, which does not survive in it and, while dying, colors the water brown. The algae is indeed beautiful, but everyone who has taken it into a reef aquarium has observed this situation. It is best to take phyllophora and others, but definitely not cystoseria.
Laurie3842
I see... thank you.. I'll keep that in mind.... yes, it's really beautiful..... so it's dying.... well, I guess... I'll have to throw it away.... do I need to change the water? Will it recover?
Lauren
It will recover. The PC will squeeze out all this brown paint, and the water will be as it was. No significant harm from it was observed.
Sherri1320
What is a PC?
Mark7376
foam separation column.
David4968
Is the skimmer working? What does it remove? Do you still have a mechanical filter, right? Is there a sponge in it? I would take out the sponge for now and remove everything where detritus and other stuff might accumulate... and set the flow to maximum - skimmer to maximum... When the water clears up a bit, I would do a water change... about 20 percent.
Karen
I immediately remembered the movie "AFONYA" with L. Kuravlyov, when he told his interns: do you see the PC? PC stands for Watering Can.
Kayla7655
The foam maker is working... the foam has increased about three times... today I will seal the inner cup, as the foam has started to come out through the small unevenness... yes, there is an internal filter... 950 liters per hour... there is a sponge, but the pores are large... practically nothing accumulates there... but in the external filter, the scrubber is fine-pored... the flow is strong... I had to lower the water level, otherwise it was splashing the water stream over the top... today the water is barely brown... I have started adding Stability... Liquid A. (live rocks). Is it too early to add? I am planning a trip on Tuesday. S.R.C. (dry reef rocks). I will definitely get some and need to buy salt...
Amy
get rid of all this plastic junk...............it looks so shabby.............
Michelle5859
Do you mean silicone corals? Definitely as soon as live rocks appear...
Michelle9986
finished the pen-thing... no bubbles anywhere... just bubbling more... the water is almost colorless...
Michelle
This morning the water is wonderful... I want to add live rocks on Tuesday—question about the temperature... the room is 25-27 degrees... but at the beginning of next month they are predicting a heatwave... I'm thinking of putting a small 12W fan on the surface of the external filter... what temperatures are acceptable... for now, it will only be live rock... and in about a month, a couple of clown melanopus.
Sara4035
It is usually said that 25 is ideal. I understand that 27 is acceptable. There are reviews that even at 28 there were no problems. Strive for perfection, place a fan above the surface. But don't forget that such cooling will increase the evaporation rate. The main thing is stable parameters (everything is stable, it doesn't matter if it's stably bad) of temperature and salinity. Therefore, if it's 27, it shouldn't drop to 24 at night, and I think that will be fine.
Kimberly3727
What about the temperature? Do the tests. Without tests, you can start any fish and corals right now - the result will be the same, whether now or in a month. It's best to clean the aquarium with warm water, save some money, and don't forget the eternal wisdom - "A penny saved is a penny earned," or even more, especially in the sea.
Katie4842
What tests are needed for the startup? For nitrates, nitrites, and ammonium? I think that no matter what, when starting with live rocks, the ammonium level will be elevated in the first 2-3 weeks (depending on the quality of the rock). So then why not just buy a Seachem disc and not worry about drops?
A question for seasoned marine enthusiasts: there is information that people use "Ptero" tests for the sea. I understand that their accuracy is very different from JBL or Seachem, but can they at least provide an approximate measurement? And what tests can be used?
Christine
I missed it somehow, during a NORMAL startup, after 2 weeks in the aquarium SPS (small-polyped corals) - you can plant them! Wake up, people! What year is it! I also read the book "Marine Aquarium at Home" by A. Stepanov in the 90s. Honestly, I went in, read it, and it really felt like the 90s. I left.
Cassandra7840
A couple of years ago, I was told the same about discus... I succeeded... and those who said it are just quietly envious... even though I started from scratch and also with a cocktail of junk—thank God I wasn't on that forum and there was no one to discourage me... but now, despite everything, I am confident in myself—and I will succeed.
Melissa
Thank you.. I'll keep that in mind... I'll set the heater to 25.
Elijah7048
Discus against the sea - a children's morning performance. It's harder to make a mistake there.
As long as no one distracts you and offers advice that it would be good to listen to.
No one doubts it, the only question is, "At what cost?"
Marie5348
There are no problems with discus fish at all... the fish is great—so even if we start from that, there won't be any issues with the sea either... everything will be fine. Don't worry.
Nicholas
The most common misconception.
Kellie
Let's make a friendly conclusion in a month... for now, I want to say that the aquarium has been started with live rocks from the Black Sea, and it's fine. After work, a friend will come over - we'll conduct tests - he has Tetra tests... but I can see that everything is fine even without them.
Larry9400
name at least one valid reason why I won't succeed...
Andrew419
Well, comrades, we measured today... KH - 6, pH - 8.5, NO2 - 0.01, NO3 - 0, NH4 - 0.02, PO4 - 0 ---- temperature 26, salinity 1.024 ---- my friend said to me ---- why did you measure it? Everything has always been fine for you... if everything has been fine for you for over 20 years... in the pond with koi and in huge discus tanks... how could you make a mistake in some forty-liter pot? ---- It's nice that people say such things... but that's all lyrical - live rocks are already on their way from Airif... tomorrow I'll buy an alert for ammonia and post some photos... so don't get upset, people... everything is working out for me!!!!!!
David7773
Why should we be upset??? We are only happy with such results - only the KN is a bit small for fresh pickling.
Omar3497
Who said it wouldn't work?
It made me smile. I bet you measured it with a float... Remind me, what salt is it? Red Sea, for example, recommends a density somewhere between 1.021 and 1.020 at that temperature (just off the top of my head), and other manufacturers aren't much different.
See above.
Well, that's how it is.
P.S. There are still a lot of "fun" nuances before that.
P.S. No offense. There are quite a few useful tips on the topic that you are trying to "disavow" with discus experience.
Jason5071
Yes, and also. It's hard to believe such figures after less than a week ago the Black Sea "graveyard" was in the aquarium.
Alexander
Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart—without your kind words, I would have given up completely... this is what it means for a person to understand... and truly be able to give advice...
Tracy4603
Your tests have shown that the aquarium is still dead - there is a lot of stuff in it that you simply cannot measure. NO3 cannot possibly be 0 after everything has decomposed, meaning the cycle has not yet started - regarding the rock and substrates, you are on the right track; you should also consider adding Prodibio - the expected result would be better. This is your starting point - and before that... Live rocks could be added later to a functioning system if there was a desire.
Tasha
I agree... thank you... I used to work in a laboratory in the undergraduate department... I know that the most reliable test gives 80% accuracy... but the truth is, it's Soviet-made... yesterday I got a Seachem alert - it shows 0.02 ammonia... but for now, I will limit myself to adding any living creatures... let it settle down... and what is ProDibio and CHK?
Jeremy3637
You are confusing yourself and everyone else with the measurements, and then you will encounter problems.
1) A floating hydrometer measures the density of a liquid. The density of water is 1000 kg/m3, which is 1.000 on the hydrometer. What is a salinometer? A refractometer? If it shows you 1.021, then it is the same density measuring device. Is it a dial type? It may be less accurate than a floating one. Generally, floats are usually accurate; they just need to be calibrated once in a normal aquarium.
2) Don't forget that 1.025 is the normal density at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is higher, the density is lower.
Mario
An off-topic story: An old lady enters a hospital, catches the first doctor she sees, and asks:
Old lady: "Son, I need to see an eye doctor, an eye doctor!"
Doctor: "Ah, an ophthalmologist. You need to go to the 3rd floor and it's the first door on the right."
Old lady: "Son, son, but I also need to see an ear doctor, an ear doctor!"
Doctor: "Ah, an ENT specialist, that's here, the door at the end of the corridor on the left."
Old lady: "Oh, thank you, son... by the way, what kind of doctor are you going to be?"
Doctor: "Well, I'm a gynecologist, but in your terms, I'm not even sure how to say it..."
Jeffrey
I see that you have an Aqua Medic Miniflotor installed. But I don't understand, if that's the case, can you explain to me why it is upside down? Who among the "experts" advised you to install it that way? P.S. If possible, a photo of it separately would be great to better see how it is installed in your setup.
Joshua8425
Alek apparently decided that a skimmer in nano is not necessary, and to prevent the diffuser from "dancing," I'll just push it into the Venturi tube, and the water from the resulting cup flows back into the aquarium, original...
Jennifer
He needed a pen, not just an air diffuser in the aquarium, although it could have been arranged without any pipes, keeping the appearance intact. In short, he overcomplicated things.
Michelle9986
the one who gave it said... I see that something is not working out... from the fact that I twisted it myself, and that has more value... but how is it done correctly?
Kyle
It's funny... well, I accidentally called the hydrometer a jerk... but that's also funny...
Christine864
I can't open that link... just the homepage... and there's no search engine there... so how do I set it up correctly? I'm starting to get nervous... something is not going right.
Stephen5841
found..thank you...turned it over...things are moving..foam is gathering.....thank you once again!!!!!
Anna9752
You will need to adjust its height in the water so that it doesn't push water into the flask if it's set too low. If it's raised too high, you'll need to supply more air, meaning you can't just adjust it in one day. Observe it in the aquarium; don't mess with it, as there won't be foam for a couple of hours.
P.S. I had it set up in a 250-liter aquarium for two years, and it worked perfectly, so it's a successful economical option. The main thing is that the diffuser is made of wood, linden, so it will produce fine bubbles.
Rachel9060
the price there is 60 bucks.....
Matthew1280
Yes, thank you, I understand... a wooden sprayer... just didn't ask what kind... bought it in the store... I figured that it doesn't push the foam right away... I didn't wait... lowered it... water got in... so I ended up making a hole like a fool... now I need to figure out how to fix it.
Curtis
Is it a problem, sealant, epoxy, or soldering? There are plenty of options.
Alyssa6727
It's not a problem... I fixed it... by midnight there was no foam... but in the morning... the foam was already forming... I was messing around in the aquarium yesterday - stirred up the substrate and rocks... so the ammonia level rose a bit - the disk darkened a little... and some creature appeared - about 2 centimeters in diameter, with thin tentacles, resembling an ophiuroidea but white... it moves much faster than a starfish.
Crystal
The question is a bit off-topic... but regarding the protein skimmer—I try to create something similar in every freshwater aquarium so that the splashes don't scatter from the spraying... so the question is: how much worse is the oxygen saturation of the water in the protein skimmer compared to free spraying?

The foam separator is sufficient for normal aeration.
Steven757
the question was how much worse.... in the pen there is saturation compared to free aeration
Michelle1662
In a foam, the saturation of seawater with oxygen usually occurs better and more abundantly.
Jonathon8514
Offtopic, thank you, I couldn't get into the author's wordplay for a long time.
Julie3950
return from the past. Yes, and while you are coming back, study literacy, it's useful.
Christopher3770
I didn't expect anything else for some reason. Nothing... I'll figure it out... I need a head to think, not just to wear a hat...
Dennis
In winter, a hat won't hurt.
Joshua
I think of launching a shrimp farm.. is it demanding?
Nancy
Is it capricious? Well said... immediately both masculine and feminine.
How much time has passed since the laying of the live rocks? What are the water parameters and what do the tests show? I think it can be populated. Here is what they write on AKVALOGO about the toras:
Water temperature 20 – 27 degrees, pH 8.1 – 8.4. Iodine needs to be added to the water to normalize molting. It is necessary to monitor the water parameters, as these shrimp are sensitive to nitrate and copper sulfate levels.
Jill1815
Two years have passed since the laying of the aquarium (live stones). The ammonia level is measured with an alert... There are 3 brittle stars and two starfish living... I was told over the phone that if these creatures are alive, then the shrimp will survive as well.
Laura7633
There is a high risk of torturing the animal and losing 30-35 currency units.
Chelsea
I suspect that the starfish are the same as "ophiuroids" - they are ordinary starlets, of course, they won't grow. "Centipedes" are bristle worms (polychaetes); who told you they are harmful? On the contrary, they clean up the food on the substrate and won't eat anything (corals/soft corals/living organisms).
Elizabeth6302
In the aquarium, there were similar ones. They said they are harmful. As for the starfish... yes, I really looked at the photo, and they are... and about the brittle star—it's no wonder they are called snake tails. They have thin, independently moving tentacles. In the aquarium, there were similar ones, just a bit larger, darker, and striped. They said these are brittle stars, but not the kind that sell for 20 dollars. These don't grow any larger. I posted a photo of them on a rock.
Bridget
Yes, he and Shere Khan write about dwarf brittle stars... they, like me, sit in the algae.
Wesley
How is it arranged that the cooler cools the water while the heater heats it? Why is it even needed in a marine aquarium during the summer when the ambient temperature is over 30 degrees?
Jeffrey496
I sit by the robot for days... sometimes I come and the T-24... and God forbid I stay late? Right now I'm playing around - setting it at different heights from the water... but for reliability, the heater is on... advise me on what’s better... today I even set it up perpendicularly... we'll see in the evening.
Jeffrey6189
A temperature of 24 is acceptable; a heater is not needed. If there is an air conditioner in the room, a cooler is also not needed.
Michelle
I agree... but the temperature drops at night... so the cooler needs to be turned off... and what should be done to avoid fluctuations from 25 to 29... and vice versa?
Laura9093
Cooler - through a timer.
Jeremy3637
Oh, thank you... that's an idea... I was stuck on the thermal relay... and it costs at least 400... how many degrees can temperature fluctuations be without causing issues? Let's say from 25 to 27... will they be stressed or not... I was told that for discards, a degree is critical... but it turns out they handle temperature changes of 5 degrees just fine... there was one time in winter when the power was out for 2 days... and they felt fine at 21... there was also a time with an Aquael heater... the temperature fluctuated from 25 to 30 and back about 5 times in a day... and it went on for 3 days... until I threw out the heater and put in a proper one... and they were fine... so what fluctuations are acceptable?
Erica
Gradual increases from 25 to 27 are quite acceptable. And vice versa...
Sara4035
The shrimp won't leave the filter... maybe I should feed it something?
Amy9618
throw a quarter of a cubic meter of Artemia next to the shrimp
Elizabeth1221
I concluded that shrimp don't see very well, so it's better to bring the food to them with tweezers right under their noses. Then they will even start eating from your hands. If you just throw the food in, a lot of it will be carried away by the current in the aquarium.
Ryan2281
I see... I will feed her... and the umbrellas won't hurt Artemia... and I understood that she doesn't eat that much... but rather hides a lot... she was sitting behind the filter today, then moved behind the heater... she needs a couple of companions to think about... I read that they are skittish when alone.
Michelle104
I don't understand why you need a heater in the summer when it's +35 degrees outside.
Vincent
The cooler cools the water down to 24... it could probably cool it further, but I come home from work and turn it off.
Johnny
And what does photosynthesis have to do with it? It's just a grasping reflex. They want to eat too. Regardless of the zooxanthellae.
Brandy
I found out something about my cucumber—it's an ascidian. It turns out to be an interesting creature, but it won't live long in the aquarium.
Amber
I read on some website that they are photosynthetic and don't need to be fed... but they definitely do. Today, every single one of them has opened up—they're waiting for nutrients.
Justin
So my centipedes are polychaetes... and they are not harmful at all... shrimp and corals eat Artemia... and you can feed them with dry food... I gave the shrimp a little... it eats it with pleasure.
Elizabeth1221
Small ones are not harmful. And it's better to flush the big ones down the toilet...
Christopher7213
Yesterday the power went out... the air pump, that is, the compressor was running on the inverter... but the internal filter, that is, the flow pump, was off... the hanging filter was working, but it was irrigated... however, the water circulation was weaker... the power came back in the morning... it seems everyone is alive and healthy—please advise what the consequences might be.
Karen1649
None.
Raven7170
Thank you.. I had already planned another shrimp and Ksyusha for tomorrow... and now there's a problem with the light... in the other aquariums, one compressor is enough... I managed with batteries for three days a month ago - without losses... I was already thinking of postponing the trip...
Andrew419
the minimum that suits them is a toilet throw them away they are not needed by you
Alyssa1438
They are sitting in a 20-liter aquarium... with a stone from the Black Sea covered in brown algae and a molly that I prepared for the sea. But I never dared to release it... and there was no time to transfer it to fresh water.
Mariah
let them sit there if they are so dear to you
David7773
From the brought stone, one filter has emerged!
So first, it is necessary to identify the ikovs, and then to unitalize them.
Wendy8540
It's fine, that's how it should be, I have the same thing.
Allison
looks like a fan worm
Gregory
So what is the normal salinity? Books say 1.021-1.024... people say 1.027... I chose the average - 1.024... I change 5-10 liters of water every week (distilled water + SeaChem salt), I clean the sponges every two weeks. I collect foam every three to four days. Feeding keeps me on edge... how to feed? I have JBL flakes with krill... I have all kinds of frozen food... since I have to feed different freshwater fish with different food (from mussels and squid to corethra with daphnia).
Scott8536
mayano. low-quality photo
Barbara
Yes, I know... from the phone... is it harmful or NOT?
Sheila1322
Opinions are divided here. Somewhere similar to iptazia (in the Kharkiv "Okeanarium" there is a whole aquarium filled (or rather polluted) with the anemone "Glass Rose").
Natasha7622
I looked at the photos of the glass rose - they are not quite the same... my body is very thin... five tentacles... the rose is almost the same as the iptazia... but these are more delicate...
Collin
The glass rose is another name for aiptasia. It is most likely a Mayano. Google is helpful.
Danielle9144
In your photo, next to each other on the rock, there are Majano anemones and Aiptasia sp. There are many species, and they vary greatly in appearance, take a look.
Monique1236
Thank you very much...great site...so this is still one of the types of iptazia...and how to destroy all this filth?
Tiffany5069
The salinity should be between 1.021 and 1.027, your reading is normal.
Stefanie9771
The melanopus are already sitting... I thought they would hide, but they are only near the front glass and crowding together. They ate the artemia... My wife is a bit disappointed—she wanted ocellaris... but I didn't dare to take them for such a volume... However, now there will be a reason to think about a larger tank... So who will answer something about this? What will happen if the little dog eats all the growths? What should I feed her...?
Danielle9144
I don't understand your logic... You buy melanopus for your volume, but you're afraid of ocellaris? They are all Amphiprionidae, and ocellaris will be just as comfortable as melanopus; it all depends on the conditions in your aquarium. If you had said your wife wanted, for example, an emperor angelfish (Pomacanthus imperator), and I didn't dare to take one for such a volume, then it would be understandable.
Stacy6866
Here is the catalog of OV - if you're interested, you can search for it yourself.
Emma
where I got the melanoplus, they said they were adults -- see 5... and the ocellaris are about 10 and they said they are still teenagers... so I thought that such a volume would be too small for them.
Jasmine
What kind of store sells oscillarys that are 10 cm? Moreover, what will happen when they grow up to be adults? It's scary to imagine.
Dana6523
it's not in the store... it's at the garlic... in short, I read that Melanopus is larger than Ocypus... well, since my ones are small... I think I can add another Ocypus of the same kind to them?
Karen81
What kind of headphones are these? I'm just curious .............. well, just get a couple of oscillarys, everything will be fine with them, and consult on the forum, for example, about what to buy, otherwise you've just been fooled.
Brandon9634
They might call them Clarks... and I haven't seen the fish myself... they said the ocellaris are 10 cm... and the melanopus are lively, their size also meets the standard... I'm thinking of adding one ocellaris to the melanopus... how many fish will there be in 40 liters?
Matthew7977
Are clarks called ocellaris? What nonsense? Don't rush, let the melanopus settle in, let the aquarium mature...
Mark
So, well... I'm not in a hurry... at least a month... Marchenkov doesn't have any ocelaris... in Airife at the end of the month... and I won't take anything from random places now... only from trusted sources... I'll also get some Strombus from Oleg and Euphyllia... and that's it for now.
Reginald5073
In 40 liters, discard this thought from your mind and never return to it. It is not possible, especially in 40 liters, to combine two different types of clownfish. This can lead, if not immediately, then over time, to the death of the same ocellaris. Melanopus are quite territorial.
Michelle13
Along the way, there will be many different "thoughts" that will need to be discarded.
Nancy758
What is, is...
Joseph591
This is not a question either... Especially if it grows, and this process is happening quite quickly for them, the melanopus won't fare well. There is a crab. In the best case, torn fins and wounds on the body; in the worst...
Chad231
Oh damn... well, I'll make them another one... with pharmacy salt for 10 liters. I really like them... I brought them from the Azov Sea wrapped in a damp cloth last year, they lived with me for a year and then—
Charles4157
Well... I set up a second 25-liter aquarium. The lid is homemade. The internal filter has a capacity of 500 liters per hour, which is for circulation. The external filter has a capacity of 300 liters per hour with bio balls. The sand is sea sand from the Black Sea. The rock has plants from the Black Sea. The lamp is a luminaire, plus a blue LED light—2A. I have a molly, which I don't have time to transfer to fresh water, but it will be moved to the pond at the end of the month when the ocellaris arrive. For the living creatures, I plan to have only live rock and clownfish. It turns out I will have to transplant further... otherwise, the ocellaris will eat them.
Andrew9246
I'm in shock. There are problems getting clowns to sit in a normal anemone. But they are sitting in silicone...
Jason9385
It's funny... right? I also read that people have such problems... the most interesting thing is that the dog is trying to drive them away... before it used to work a little... but now they push her away as soon as she gets close to the bush... and the most interesting thing is that you can see where the female is and where the male is... and the male dances in front of the female like crazy... and even lets food pass in front of her.
Ronald5720
They perceive this bush as a shelter. It is interesting to think that when they grow up, it might occur to them to spawn under this "anemone"....
Troy8808
Well, it's clear that they are seeking protection in it... they are currently 5 months old.
Laura3615
I will be in shock.
Gregory9432
How often should shrimp molt? My first one has already molted for the second time... they are really small... but my freshwater ones molt once a month or even less often.
Andrew419
Well, I'm slowly getting ready... In a few days, they'll bring a 120-liter aquarium... I'll gradually start adding salt... The sand is coming from the Black Sea... For now, I'll use the water from the changes of two small aquariums... I'll set up some internal filter... Let it cycle.
Meghan
A new dog is already eating... I was worried that it might starve to death... I thought about not getting it... but then I thought, if anything, I can train it to eat spirulina... I come home, and in the 1.5 days that the dog was gone, the walls look like no one has touched them... I brought a strombus... and an euphilia... and a chrysiptera... the clowns are busy dividing the food... they pay no attention to it... the strombus is already eating the remnants of artemia... the euphilia is already opening up... and I brought live rock in a 25L tank - let it settle.
Amber6362
And what can anyone say about the hedgehog of the globe... and about the Black Sea hermit crabs?
James8887
Black Sea hermits cleaned the thread with J.K. (living stones) in 3 days and are now flying around the aquarium. Fun creatures.
There are different types of sea urchins... I'm not sure it's a good idea for small tanks. Although Lev successfully kept two of them together with clownfish and a carpet in his 20L tank. They say not all urchins are "reef-safe." You could end up with a troublemaker.
Adam4310
I see.. thanks for the info... the hedgehog is off the table for now... but I'll release a couple of hermits... the female still won't let the male into the bush... but I can't remove him... since the dog only hangs around him ---- the food sticks to the bush. That's how she gets her sustenance... otherwise, she doesn't want to eat dry food at all... her belly is like a drum after the bush... she barely fits into the burrow... the chrysiptera has also organized a nest for herself... and only pops out to grab some food... how do hermits feel about the strombus? I've heard they might eat it...
Darrell7542
I read that there are ways to deal with film on the surface of water... there are various film collectors... are there any folk methods?
Rodney
Yes. Take a sheet of clean paper cut to the size of the inner perimeter, place it on the surface, and then gently pull on one edge. The film will remain on the paper. If there are any remnants of the film on the surface after this procedure, you can repeat the process with another sheet of paper.
Samuel6138
For a couple of days in a row, this act continues... the clown swims up to the shrimp... it wraps its claws around the clown's head while its small white claws poke around in the mouth like a dentist... it's certainly quite a sight—impossible to look away... you won't see such a wonder in freshwater in your entire life.
Mariah
The sea is full of wonders....
Bryan1851
Hermit crabs and strombus snails are quite compatible. If they are Black Sea species, there will be no problems at all - they are not in the same weight category. If they are blue-legged, the strombus has a spine for protection. Hermit crabs are only interested in the shell of the strombus. They do not "eat" them.
Charles
I understand that you can help me the most with this dilemma—sponge filters... are they necessary or NOT? Some say they are needed because they host nitrifying bacteria... others say they are not needed because they collect dirt and then release ammonia... I have a sponge in the external filter, and in it, there are bio balls... and a sponge in the internal filter... which is also a flow pump... and I sit here scratching my head—how to proceed... I'm afraid to disrupt something—should I throw out the sponges or not... if I shouldn't throw them out, how often should I CLEAN them?
Elizabeth1221
You can leave one sponge (preferably synthetic) for mechanical cleaning. Bacteria primarily live in the substrate, then on live rocks. There are relatively few of them in the sponge. Clean every 3-4 days.
Stacey4437
The advantage of plastic corals is that they are open in any conditions.
Eric8832
Another important plus is that all sorts of things stick to them—dogs and strombus just graze on them... the dog is like a drum... and I was worried that she wouldn't have enough food...
Jenny
For a while, yes.
At least in the beginning. Clibonarians really enjoy the shells of strombus. Later, those shells become a bit cramped for them.
It's a matter of taste. Some prefer cleanliness and order, while others are fine with a plain mess.
Tammy2040
It's a matter of taste. Some people like cleanliness and order, while others are fine with a simple mess. Do you see dirt on me? I'm talking about food sticking... well, the dog doesn't eat it off the ground... but enjoys it from the bush... the crayfish will be Diogenes... how do they react to strombus?
Thomas5021
as well as on a fragment of the decoration
Lee425
I looked at the photo of the aquarium, and to be honest, I'm sorry, but I don't like it; everything seems a bit dull, and the plastic coral and quartz sand don't help. I don't even know how to describe it.
Jessica8898
Call things by their names.
Nicole7122
Actually, this is not sand... it's more like fine gravel... quartz granules 2.5-5mm... neutral. It doesn't clump together. Easy to clean. It doesn't get clogged... but I really have to part with the plastic corals—Chrysiptera chased the clowns away from there, and now they are huddling near the filter... and the dog already has plenty of food without the bush... I'll come home from work today—if the clowns are not in the bush—they'll play with the toys and the Pekingese... now the task is—what kind of hiding place to come up with for the clowns?
Kayla7655
quartz sand and at the bottom of the ocean...and in the sailor...we have no other sand on our planet except for quartz...I apologize---there is also sand made of gold
Cassandra7840
Ask nature for advice.
Kimberly3727
Well, what can I say... the advice from nature costs 450... bubble anemone... today I'll try to put a mirror for the chrysiptera... maybe it will get amazed by itself and stop reacting to the clowns.
Kayla7655
Who can suggest whether the bubble anemone is capricious?
Kimberly4253
My Ksenia is sitting in the bushes, sometimes drifting into Euphily and Rodactis.
Michelle5859
You already have expanded clay in the filter, just add peat under the quartz sand and you can plant the actinia.
Richard
So you advise not to bother with the actinia... otherwise, God forbid, it might die... and to buy a couple more Kseniya... and let the clowns choose the lesser of two evils—either a stuffed backside... or hiding in the bushes of Kseniyas.
Debra8438
...what does ceramics have to do with peat? and why are you putting peat in a marine aquarium? what nonsense... and please tell me a type of sand that is not quartz...
Diana8604
What is expanded clay made from? It will emit background noise from everything possible.
Raven7170
For years, marine aquaristics has developed, with people gaining knowledge and experience through trial and error, and then an individual appears and claims that all sand is the same (you can even use the one that is spread on roads in winter – it already contains salt).
Christopher1252
Moreover, I took it from the roof of a house built in 1961. During the Soviet Union, people cared about people, not about poisoning them with insulation material. Besides, I took it out of a healthy freshwater aquarium, where it had been for at least six months.
Christopher1774
There are concepts in construction such as pit sand and sea sand. If you are used to thinking in a linear way, then I believe these distinctions in sands are specifically for you. My soil is aquarium soil, and let's close this issue. The most important thing is that all the inhabitants feel great, and it's convenient for me to clean it.
Joe
You are great at copying text from construction websites (it's pleasant to read). Construction, freshwater aquariums, and the Union should be left alone. In your aquarium, you are free to do whatever you want (even throw in some red ones). As for "laureate," don't get worked up (first, focus on your grammar).
John3432
Yes, by the way, three Diogenes arrived yesterday... funny little creatures... they fly around with their shells raised like locomotives... I'll pull out the silicone bushes and then take a photo... otherwise, I understand that people are only annoyed by the silicone corals... but no one notices that the umbrellas, disco anemones, and euphyllia are doing just fine... and in general—how is everything living in my tank? It should have all died a month ago...?!!!!
Ashley5975
Thank you, but I'm not rushing. I'm just 200 percent sure that natural clay is better than any plastic, no matter how environmentally friendly it is. I can even confidently say that our clay is better than Chinese ceramics. In one of my 350-liter aquariums, I have purchased ceramic in the filter, while in another 350-liter aquarium, I have expanded clay, and the water in it is better. Although there are specific issues (with the sirens) — first, focus on your grammar; you have problems with grammar too, it's just that the buttons are next to each other.

Do you even understand what you wrote? What quartz sand in the ocean, especially on the reef? At least look into what kind of sand should be in a marine aquarium and what important role it plays.
Catherine
This is exactly where we need to start... with the role he plays... and we are fine with that... I have different substrates, and out of five or six varieties, including sea sand... and I even have 5 kg of prepared live sand... and believe me, if the need arises, I will replace it... but for now, I see that this substrate suits both me and my inhabitants... by the way, I collect sand for a volume of 120 liters. I won't take it from the aquarium. I plan to launch the third marine tank with needles...
Robert800
In post 57, this question was raised, and in post 62, you replied that you would look into quartz sand, BUT you still didn't understand anything, and there's nothing great about it. What do you think, quartz is not for the reef. It's okay for the fish tank, though. In short, do what you want and keep entertaining us.
So... all unnecessary digressions and dilemmas... everything is fine with us... I set up the mirror... the chrysomus has all the attention on itself... the clowns are happy... the brittle stars have come out—I haven't seen them in a long time... I thought the fish had eaten them... but they were probably just hiding from the fish... well, they are so cool—about the size of a ruble coin...
Marie5735
We are one and a half months in... everything is fine... the dog has also started to look at the mirror... there are many snails now... small white round ones and black triangular ones... I found a snail similar to the one that Black Sea hermits settle... but a bit smaller... the tops of the stones are covered with bright green growths mixed with red... it looks beautiful.
Corey3201
I wanted to ask about something... but then I think, they'll say it's the expanded clay's fault... well, never mind... there are smart people who can help... anyway, I was redoing the lid and noticed that the pump gives a slight electric shock... only if there's a wound, it tingles a bit... on the other hand, there's no wound, so it doesn't feel like anything... I checked all the bulbs and realized it's the pump... if it were a bulb, I would just replace it and that's it... but I don't have a spare pump... and I understood that it's been giving a slight shock for a long time—about two weeks ago it shocked me too... but I thought it was salt getting into the wound... how harmful are small electric discharges for living beings? I can replace the pump in about a week.
Angela6489
And then, on a whim... I pulled out the quartz... I started to pour in live sand... but it was no longer alive, it was dead... I rinsed and washed it... still had a smell... I left it in a basin overnight... let it soak... tomorrow, if the smell doesn't go away, I'll boil it... what else can I do?
Alyssa6727
One should have thought with their head right away and listened to what experienced marine aquarium enthusiasts were suggesting, instead of engaging in clowning around.
Maria
Well, it's not a big deal. This morning there was no smell... by evening everything will be fine... I postponed the filling for a day... I asked for advice... and there's no need to boil it... the sand is not a big deal... they cut the power again... so I'm back to dealing with the batteries... I got a good charger, so now I'll turn everything on. And a couple of LED bulbs... I can't do more because the other 20 aquariums also need to be taken care of.
Zoe7451
I change the sand not because it has become acidic or anything like that... it's just that in the new marine setup I have marine sand... it looks nicer... and it will resemble a real biotope more.
Wendy
As they say, you can't understand Russia with your mind.
Heather
It's all clear... Plastic corals look better with the sea... more biotope-like...
But in general... expanded clay is to blame for everything...
P.S. It's better to have one decent aquarium than 20 half-swamps...
Catherine6534
Change the pump and do it quickly. If it starts leaking, it will only get worse. It will blow up so that the expanded clay will be on the ceiling. In saltwater, it will be almost a short circuit.
Debbie3587
Thanks... I thought so too... Today I puzzled my wife... she'll stop by after work... even though she stopped pinching... but my soul is not at ease... I remember when I shorted the pump in the pond—crayfish jumped out like they were scalded...
Mariah
Yes, I have already pulled out that plastic... I just haven't filled it with sand yet... there was no light... and I can't get the expanded clay out... I'm 1000% sure that it's better than plastic...
Ryan1989
Presnyak will forgive you all your mischief... with expanded clay... But the composition of expanded clay... oxides of silicon and aluminum... who knows what will react with what... But somehow aluminum salts in the sea... not very good... And silicates... are not welcomed...
Expanded clay can be quite different...
Lindsay
It can be very different... the one they are producing now... there are even silicate ones... mine is made of clay... you can even see the layers of clay when you break it. As for forgiving—everything is fine... I would say that if something were wrong, it would have affected the residents within a maximum of two weeks... on the other hand, I know a case where cyanosis occurred due to the switch from Chinese ceramics to Tetra bio balls...
Rodney
Neither the first nor the second, and especially not expanded clay in the sea is needed. The M. matures for 3 to 6 months, and during this time it is minimally disturbed, with slight assistance, not like you who change the sand or rearrange the stones every 2-3 weeks, and everything is fine for you, and all is well, nonsense and self-deception.
P.S. At one time, you boasted that you were experts in freshwater? I looked at your discus tank and was shocked! You keep discus with quartz sand, marine shells, sea pebbles, and the highlight is the coral skeleton. Therefore, I am not surprised by your imagination in maintaining a marine aquarium.
Ryan
Finally, you understood that the law doesn't apply to me... I don't like to follow the rules... and I always succeed.
Tiffany5069
it is evident................
Marie5348
I meet such a sailor for the first time... He hasn't even smelled the sea yet, but he already succeeds in everything everywhere, and don't tell me anything, I know everything... Why then create a topic with a meaningless title "Help with advice"?... And do you need our advice?.....
Christopher
Regarding the turning... there was no turning... I didn't have quartz under the stones... I carefully pulled out one scoop per hour to avoid stirring up the silt... today I will also slowly add sand. In the morning, it ferments in seawater. So there was no stress. Of course, I will have to deal with the pump... when I change it for a new one... and you say that neither ceramics nor bio-balls are suitable... so what should I put in then?
Jade
Of course... 80% were useful tips... even the reproaches and mockery had their benefits... for example, you only spoke about the matter... and you didn't care whether I had clay or a sponge in my filter... every word mattered... I just don't understand why people are so angry—did the silicone coral upset them or what happened, and nothing died... and it won't die—just to spite all the well-wishers...
Nicole7268
Ass or not ass... but all my fish are breeding... I will breed the spotted macrognathus... then I will be an ass... as for my children liking shells and corals in the aquarium— their interests are above all for me... my children will live with these aquariums... and I won't take into account that someone doesn't like some shell... and discus only benefit from this— the shelters provide places for breeding neocaridina... and they, in turn, are the sanitizers of the aquarium... well, tastes are not to be disputed (the East is a delicate matter)...

I am trying... to speak... in dolphin language... I also had discus in a 100-liter tank... and they were bought by a person... who has an 800-liter aquarium... because he couldn't grow them... to such... a size... as I did in my 100 liters.... A pair... of Marlboro... grew... to 10-12 cm in 8 months.....//// HURRAY!!!!! So what....//// now I will be on the marine forum..... writing.... how great I am.... and also.... I bred pandas, leopard catfish, and ...... other...... catfish///// And ancistrus...... too.....
Charles894
I'm not bragging about my catches... to be honest... I'm fed up... I'm fed up with people saying that I won't achieve anything... that it's not right... that it's rubbish... honestly... I'm starting to get sick of this whole thing... thank God I haven't communicated on any forums about it. It's just life experience, so to speak... that's how I defend myself... I'm not as clueless as they think... and about the fish... knock on wood—those in the photo are spring catches, and there are a couple of specimens over 10 cm... so not everything that glitters is gold.
Cool... so all of this is only for the better... I fell asleep in the sand... and the dog, what is it... digging like a real dog in the sand?
Jacob4800
They don't let the owner of this table relax even once... It's like a purgative for a cough.
Tanya
If you think about how much silicone glue releases plastic on magnetic scrapers, polyethylene on tubes is just crazy... and if you don't preserve the aquas, radiation will get in from the atmosphere, and all the elements from the periodic table will come into play...
Gregory9432
I am amazed by you. You are either pretending or you really are like this. Clearly, there is no dumber topic in the marine thread. Off-topic: I will see how long my patience lasts.
Gary6376
Off-topic. A normal topic. I read it with great interest.
Monica
It will be necessary to rename the topic to "My Experiments with the Sea" to show that the devil is not as scary as he is painted... In short, everything is fine... Everyone is alive and healthy... Expanded clay is working great... The sand has settled. I laid a layer about a centimeter thick... maybe one and a half in some places... The strombus burrows in like a mole... only its eyes are sticking out... The dog and the chrysiptera are also wriggling in the sand... For some clowns, it doesn't matter. Ksyusha has started to gradually climb onto a bigger rock... but otherwise, everything remains unchanged.
Phillip9722
Waiting for the photo!
Yolanda
I'll click as soon as I arrive, not late. I'll go get some food for the fish. The cichlid fry have multiplied - they eat like crocodiles... and the chrysurus keeps attacking the clowns... and they are also fighting among themselves... what a silly fish it is... the size of a pipette, but not every cichlid has that much sense.
Sarah5423
In the second photo, you can see a lot of detritus on the rocks; try cleaning it with a brush or gently blowing with a small pump, the rocks will work better... breathe.
Jessica9188
They are not far away.....
Laurie3842
thanks...I'll take care of it now
Darrell7542
I share the same opinion... bubble anemone... I don't know if I can last a month without letting it go... I won't even argue or get upset about it... it needs an old... rather, a well-established aquarium.
Alejandro
The theme is just great - humor is really needed. I feel very sorry for the animal.
Darrell7542
I don't know, maybe it's against the rules, but in my opinion, you are a sadist (at least leave the anemone alive, let it live with someone, or sell it to a place where it will survive).
Cheryl
It's a pity... so what to do to prevent them from getting beaten...? I won't catch the chrysiptera anymore... it's too fast...
Brian6895
Chrysiptera is a very territorial fish (this should have been considered before getting them). Are the ocellaris currently with the clarks? I'm already confused with your marine aquariums (if everyone is sitting there, where it all started - it's just a nightmare). By the way, in the photo, Ksyusha is not feeling well, very.
Rick
I'm not taking her yet... I don't understand what could happen to her. It's one thing if the euphyllia dies at 80, and another if the anemone dies at 400... please advise what to do so the fish don't get hurt...
Kristen1161
She can "cover" everyone along with herself. Nothing anymore.
Julia
Regarding Ksyusha, I agree... she started to shrink when I changed the purigen... I was warned that she likes a bit of nitrates... if she shrinks again tomorrow, I'll take the purigen out of the filter... and the ocellaris are sitting separately... in 25 liters, while the chrysurus with melanopus are in 40 liters. I knew she was territorial... but mine is just a bit silly... she fights with her reflection.
Catherine
This says it all, you don't want to listen to anyone, do as you know.
Lee
So wait... I have seen people keep Chrysipterus with Amphiprion in aquariums... well, it will drive it away from the burrow, and that's it... and no one really discouraged me... on the contrary, they said it was possible... and when I bought it, they also said it could be kept together... in short, it's clear... accusations... accusations once again... but the point is, I have already found a solution... hiding places for the Melanopus—the female is already in the (little house), the male is just turning his nose... well, nothing... a couple of times he will get a smack on the rear... and he will hide...
Tracy4603
What is the volume (how many liters is the aquarium)?
Jill1815
IT'S VERY DIFFICULT!!! They probably know you.
Joseph1346
about 100 liters
Tasha
I believe. But not 40.
Joseph8842
I will be putting in small fish... and catching the chrysiptera... I prefer melanopus more to my liking.
Tara2761
Harpoons and simple drying are not a solution! You stubbornly refuse to take responsibility for the lives of animals (which depend solely on you, and what does it matter who cares about the soul, the soul is a separate issue...) By the way, regarding Ksyusha, Purigen has been in use almost since the start, the white and pink ones are just thriving (dividing and multiplying, soon I will start giving them away).
Robert
Listen, stop creating marine aquariums (no one will ever call them a sea) and make ONE that is worthy... a sponge with a scrubber, a bunch of fish, unclear sand... = sad photos. You don't want to keep an anemone because "400 will die," but they are talking about something completely different here...
But stop buying living creatures and "launching another 'sea'," focus on getting this one right. Do water changes, provide proper lighting, conduct tests, and add bacteria if necessary.
Chad4168
Most likely, it should be called how not to start a marine aquarium. I apologize, but have you even done one test to see what's happening in your aquarium? Nitrates were mentioned; do you think they disappeared or were significantly reduced after adding Purigen? I seriously doubt that. The ocean is not freshwater; experiments here can end up being more disastrous than in freshwater.
The topic is interesting in its development; let's see where it all leads.
Angela6489
I haven't done tests for a long time. Just calcium and KH. Remove all the rocks, catch all the fish - give them to someone for temporary care. Buy new sand, five kilos of salt, reverse osmosis water, and a decent skimmer like Reef Octopus 80. Throw away everything that isn't called live rock. Restart everything, but before that, read all the topics in the marine aquaristics section five times. You'll have a real sea. Start from the beginning. Maybe something good will come out of it, and it will even be pleasing to the eye.
David7773
to be honest...........it looks pretty pathetic.................
Jesse
Well, maybe a person has such taste. It seems that even the bland dishes look poor there.
Michelle
Hello to all well-wishers... everything is alive and thriving in both aquariums... the carpet anemone is flourishing... to those who were advised to drain the tanks—soon you will have to drain them yourselves—in exactly 2 weeks I will post photos... 7 species of soft corals and 2 species of hard corals. Ophiolepis superba. Anemone - Stichodactyla tapetum, Neritina, Turbo, Trochus... in short, folks, get ready for a shock... thank you in advance for not writing comments... I won't read them anyway... I already know that I have order---by the way, for the particularly knowledgeable... I was stressed back then because it was reproducing...
Ricky9405
So can you close the topic? You don't need advice in your thread, help with advice, create a new topic. I can help create an aquarium, and it's time for you to publish your work, you have matured. You have a lot of experience, you've been through a lot.
Rick
Imaginary success... I will only say this: you will not be insured against troubles in marine aquaristics. And when you are in a bind, you will try to ask those same "experts" for advice again. But after such assurances, the "experts," as you have put it, are unlikely to help, because you have provoked them to this.
Joshua448
At the ReefCenter
Julie3950
I won't close the topic because smart people give sensible advice and usually write in private messages. She has helped me a lot... a special thank you to her...
James4757
Everyone knows their worth... I think it's thanks to the smart people (who will understand and give good advice) from this forum... I'm doing fine... I can only imagine how many people have ruined their dream of the sea just by following the advice to pour everything out!!!!
Lynn4242
What's going on at the RIF Central? They said you're an expert on carnivorous snails... Question—if you feed a carnivorous snail, will it not touch herbivores?
Brooke3987
I'm not an expert at all. The logo has Lev, ask him about it. No matter how much you feed the wolf, the elephant is still ... thicker!
Lauren
I see... I will try to catch it... this snail looks exactly like the shell of the Black Sea hermit crab Diogenes...
Stefanie9771
Hermits do not have their own shells, they only carry others'. Catch, photograph, and identify (in the section "Oh, what is this"), and then decide on the further fate.
Ross
Dear, names, surnames, and patronymics are written with a capital letter... Polina will come in, not understand, get offended, and leave the advisor...
Megan
Alright... I won't push it here either... my fault... but I still won't pour it out... and it didn't even cross my mind to pour it out... especially since I want to plant a second actinia... and do I NEED to feed the mat?
Ryan
It's better not to plant a second actinia, especially in your volume.
P.S. Soon "exactly 2 weeks" will pass, and we should see photos that will leave us in awe.
Christina9947
I'm not talking about amazement... but about the surprise that nothing has died... the clowns have grown up. Chrysomus stopped chasing the clowns. The dog eats dry food with appetite. The strombus climber is climbing the walls. The brittle star, however, is constantly hiding... I can only boast about the euphyllia... it has become fluffy and very beautiful.
Veronica
To be honest... I just find it funny... why are you so fixated on my discussions... maybe because they have never been sick and are growing like crazy? Or because they make my children happy? And you should read the advice given—cut everything... why? I can imagine your reaction if someone gave you that advice right now... I have more and more questions every day... and I’ll say it again—there are normal people on this forum with whom it’s nice to communicate and who give sensible advice...
Sandra7004
I completely agree with this at the maritime forum; 2% of overconfident fools are not fully in touch with their heads, while the rest are quite normal people who understand what they are doing and what they are engaged in, who accept criticism adequately and understand humor, patiently listen to advice, and also share their many years of personal experience that you won't find in books even if you search with a lantern.
Deborah2682
Oh, GURU, is nothing really dying... I mean, it exists, it's stubborn, but it doesn't die!!! This is progress... Teach us, people with limited thinking, how to maintain aquariums. And there's no need to measure anything! Why? After all, nothing is dying and there's no cyanobacteria. Probably... it's better to measure when the cyanobacteria starts to show up and everything dies.
Yolanda
It will hurt you. But I live wonderfully.
Kayla7655
Such advice was given at the beginning of the topic - when you started with pharmacy salt (isn't that the wrong advice?). Of course, it's possible, but then everyone comes to the conclusion that the "instructions" were important - Polina Rodionova's system is no longer so extreme; osmosis has appeared and much more... A forum with bad people who all attacked a beginner sailor - and he was doing everything right - that's bad! But maybe one should look for the log in their own eye? (Especially since the advice came from people with certain experience and reputation). P.S. I'm not particularly expecting photos - I already know the future picture. Good luck to your pets!
Rachel
it will hurt you.?. but I live wonderfully
Noah1632
So I'm saying - teach me!!! Tell me how, without having any knowledge, and most importantly, without even having the desire to gain it, everything is going so well for you? Have you already planted the second actinia? Although why just 2 - 3 is better, the collection is more extensive that way.
Lee425
The most interesting thing is what extrasensory abilities a person must have to judge the knowledge of someone they haven't even communicated with... or even clearly read their sentences... doesn't want to... ---- one shouldn't judge everyone by oneself.
Jeffrey2277
I expressed my opinion about sand and expanded clay (clay contains a lot of iron and other "useful" elements). And who mentioned any conversations? (I wrote that it is a very territorial fish and this should have been taken into account before putting it in a 40L tank. Re-read your topic.) It would have been better to ask before buying. And once again - do whatever you want with your aquarium. Why create a topic with such a title (it's already been discussed)?
Linda
24 pages of thick trolling and grown men are falling for it. Someone is honing their craft.
Phillip9722
How do YOU catch them? Reveal the secret!!! With a net, perhaps? And do they move around in your aquarium? If so............ at what speed?
Lisa
No, there is rocket development - aiptaziyelovki. They take a soil sample and run after it, following the trail. There’s still some left from the discus.
Laura3615
There is this thing called tweezers... you can read in Wikipedia how to use them... there were a couple of times when I directed the iptazia so that it couldn't get out of the gap... I found it tangled in the chetomorph through a needle...
Wendy
thank god you have nothing... after which at least something may remain...
Charles4157
I understood:
1) tweezers - although I'm sure you can't "catch" apathy with tweezers
2) directing a current at it................that's also a method
You have completely new methods for dealing with apathy.............we'll take them into account...............although to be honest, it's complete nonsense.
Amy
You are completely resistant to something progressive and new. You are used to some old methods.
I think the author is right - if you carefully pull the aiptasia by the tail, you can unravel the whole tangle of L.R. (live rocks). The second method is a discovery. Not everyone can blow aiptasia onto a heteromorph. A little "ingenuity" and that's it - "The elephants have gone north."
Justin9867
What if it's not sitting in a crevice? If I have a maximum of 10 of them, directing the flow is not a problem... I just need to make sure it doesn't slip into any recesses... I've collected a couple of times just on sand... and in the aquarium with the amies, one aiptasia attached to the diffuser... the funny thing is that when you supply more air to the diffuser, it inflates like a drum.
Christopher4125
Respect, you really made me laugh.
David4968
Deduction, Sirs, only deduction... And all your knowledge and passion for it you leave to us in your posts.
Teresa
Thank you for at least not mocking... yesterday I changed the matrix and purigen... the anemone's mouth is a bit protruded... hmm... I think... it's nonsense what they write on the packaging that these sorbents have no effect on living creatures... I quickly pulled it out—the anemone came back to normal... I called... they say all sorbents need to be rinsed before use... there you have it, the thirst for knowledge... until you feel it on your own skin—you won't understand... good thing I reacted quickly... the new sorbent was in for about 20 minutes... it didn't affect the corals at all...
William5838
You can't change all the fillers at once. You need to change one first, and then another after a few days. And you shouldn't change all the charcoal at once either.
P.S. It has been "exactly 2 weeks."
Pamela
So, now I know... by the way (the sellers told me) tapetums do not release toxic substances into the water... dwarf anemones are more related to disco anemones... and they said that you can safely add another tapetum in such a volume.
Dana6523
An interesting fact... in the first aquarium, the dog was happily munching on the dry food... but in the second one, she didn't want to... well, she was there for about 2 days... I think she'll get used to it... but yesterday I brought some American dry food... and she pounced on it like a real dog... the clowns couldn't keep up with her...
Jeremy3637
Offtopic Stas, those were 2 even virtual weeks, in an unknown virtual year..... And to be specific, we won't wait for happiness.....
Bryan1851
Is the mirror in the aquarium treated with something (can it rust)? Although most likely "it doesn't matter..." Since the spectrum of light is chosen with taste, a centimeter layer of detritus on the stones looks stylish, "(probably because so much money is spent on it)" (with a smile). Everything lives and is happy to create a new theme - "my super sea..... AND YOU didn't believe....".
Christopher4125
For the sea, and from the freshwater of the successful?
Well, she doesn't spend weeks at work, she comes home, right?
The photo isn't yours! Disco anemone and anemone are two different creatures.
Michelle
But it looks much "prettier" (Have you seen the sunset? Only green like this (S))
Michelle104
You could say that you are super awesome... and you have never had any losses?!! My daughter makes cool medals out of potatoes... if you think that I will give everything up because of a couple of dead snails, then you are deeply mistaken... and it's never too late to learn to read... the surprise for you will not be that it's a beautiful picture—like the one you would see in any aquarium... wait until the evening... and... for later—if you know where to get a bubble anemone cheaper than 300, then there's no need to tease that it costs cheap... otherwise, there's only one conclusion...
Kayla7655
the well-being of the freshwater...nothing was dying there. I hadn't felt any pain for about 3 years...but that's all minor stuff...I promised to report...I'll report today...and my wife will be back at one in the morning...this photo -- no, of course not -- it's signed...I only have one and it's small...but it has noticeably grown over the month...right now I'm studying the differences between anemones and discoanemones.
Debbie3587
2 medals
Wendy8540
Are you really going to post a video of you eating medals made of potatoes? I'm looking forward to it.
Christine
three medals
Shelby3182
I can take the medals as potatoes in bags (I feel sorry for the child), and winter is approaching.
Helen
thank God ...they stopped bothering...
Todd8452
In captivity: More resembling actinias than mushroom polyps, these curiously looking animals usually end up in aquariums on live rocks. They thrive best in areas that are dimly lit or in darkness, such as in caves or under ledges.
Bryan1851
Read about discoactinies here. In general, it wouldn't hurt to read all the issues.
Erin
make sure there won't be any backlash later............ at least not verbal
Tonya
Trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
Chelsea567
Trash !!!! squared
Robin
I really liked the zoanthids with orange edges near the filter and the blue tubastrea - they are just awesome. Indeed, there is a well-established balance in the SYSTEM.
Laura3615
The whole point is that I was running on rainwater... and I collected about 50 liters of it as a reserve... when it rained non-stop for two days... everything was fine with that water... until it ran out... when the rain came on September 2-3... I collected water... replaced it—and checked... in short, Ksyusha died right away... all the others didn’t react at all... but I decided not to take any more risks... and now I only use laboratory distillate... well, now someone will shout again that I’m not right in the head... but I’ve already gotten used to it.
Lee
Yes, the blue tubastria is alive, it doesn't die. You don't even need to measure anything. But the living umbrellas don't even want to open.
P.S. Do you really like this... It's sad.
Spencer7805
Come on... get rid of all this plastic nonsense, what's with this props? And what about the background? Was it wallpapered 50 years ago? It could be done properly, but it just looks depressing. Regarding the rainwater, you surprised me. You were already informed about the osmotic water, what's with these silly experiments? You might as well try to launch the sea on "Borjomi." Honestly, in my opinion, if a person has no taste, as they say, what's not there, is not there.
Melissa1838
I never stuttered about osmosis... distillate—yes... now everyone has returned from vacation, so there won't be any interruptions... but without the (frills) it looks even more depressing... and the ocelot is hiding in that tubastrea... the essence is not in the exhibition photos... the essence is that I was supposed to have problems with the distillate, as claimed... but I had minimal problems with rainwater... without measuring parameters... it's better now if you can tell me about actinium... I was told that it's tapetum.
Antonio
So you have problems!!! A bunch of plastics, and what’s alive looks pretty bad. The umbrellas are closed, the euphyllia is drooping, the tentacles are short. There’s no current, a bacterial film on the surface, stones covered in slime, dead coral skeletons in the tank... Now, about the good... Damn, there’s nothing to say... Oh right - the fish and shrimp haven’t died yet... It’s sad...
Wendy2244
Can I get a link, who and when? The point is that everyone gives the wrong advice (which someone doesn't care about)! The surprise didn't work out, maybe try a video with medals?! And regarding aquariums - this is a new "trend" in marine aquaristics - reef and global warming (slow death).
Kevin3114
This was already said a month ago... are we waiting for the next month? If you are negatively inclined in advance... then what’s the point of me justifying myself to you... and I'm also very curious how you manage to telepathize? The current—sweeps the fish away... the euphyllia is hanging... literally for 15 minutes a day... when I feed the fish... and turn off the pumps... regarding the closed umbrellas—who I got them from also said that they close at the slightest rustle... I was worried at first too... but then I started to notice that they close one by one... and about the fish not dying—how long will they keep dying? They have been dying for 2 months...
Katie4842
It turned out just right... look, it hasn't died yet—what a surprise—it's been a month, and it hasn't died. People didn't even notice how they got tangled up in their statements... I think in a month it definitely won't work... people will get used to it... stop being nervous... eventually forget about such a weirdo... higher plants pierce through the stones... I won't break them in any case... if the dogs don't eat them... there will be thickets... again, there will be those who won't like that either...
Chelsea
It's unlikely that you are now a "star" of the naval branch!
Gary6376
Could you tell me more about these plants, please?
Tanner
It's not a problem... I'll turn it on at night... just for you, I'll click all the open umbrellas... I can click how they glow green from the blue light... I just checked. There are only about 20 closed... what do you think... that I'm closing them on purpose... look at my old photos... there are also closed polyps there... I think if they had been closed for a month, they would have been done for. I clicked---almost all are open... I'll post it tomorrow... the card reader is in the computer... and the kids are already asleep... and I also clicked how the euphyllia has fluffed up...
James1625
bright green..but not salad green..somewhat reminiscent of a cabbage leaf..it's a bit visible in the photo. and next to the green euphyllia..something similar to rodactis..on top where there is more light, dark red deer antlers..where there is less light..tiny leaves resembling a two-sided saw..or like hornwort
Jessica
Here’s a link to such useful tips. I have been struggling with cyanobacteria for a long time, and many people on the forum are facing these bacteria (there's even a topic about it). Maybe you can help us all with some advice?
Tami
I've only seen cyan in pictures... and I don't even know how to deal with it... I read that it appears due to the shift of light towards the blue side... so I'm thinking—there's enough blue... so why not add some yellow...
Michelle9986
GENIUS!!!
Anthony
Yes. By the way... this month the filamentous algae should start growing... there's a lot of food... although at night the mollusks with the amphiura clean everything up... in the freshwater, there used to be a beard... a rare nuisance... I hope the dog hasn't forgotten how to eat greens.
Jeffery
Where did such information come from? Let me guess - you passed by the aqueduct at night with candles (when the power was off - not very good electricians) and saw the reflection of the filament in the "Chrysipteran mirror"?
Laura4892
Well, take note... in a month or two we will return to this issue... no one will hit you on the forehead if you direct yellow light to the place where pests have settled.
Martin3206
I read on the forum that people experienced similar problems in the second or third month of maturation.
Guy
Noted. Everyone recommends expensive lamps, but it turns out it's all simple - I bought a bunch of lamps at a market near the metro for 5 UAH each, and no cyan or other nonsense. It's true that "everything genius is simple"!
Deborah2682
To make the lamps more yellow, should I use regular incandescent bulbs or is there something better?
Bryan1851
I have nothing to say, it's terrifying to look at artificial silicone "corals," stressing umbrellas, and euphyllia. The live rocks are all in detritus, the water is murky and cloudy, I think it's enough to list. I won't give advice, you don't need it ANYMORE. The most difficult part is behind you.
Andrew4194
Well, let them stress for another month... see you in a month... maybe someone is stressing, but not me... as they say, he who laughs last, laughs best...
Charles5941
You boast that you are an experienced freshwater aquarist and feed the fish to the brim, which indicates that you are doing it wrong, as well as many other things: one of the main rules of aquaristics states that it is better to underfeed fish than to overfeed them, and this applies to both freshwater and marine aquariums. So, in freshwater aquariums, temper your enthusiasm for excessive feeding, and in marine ones, do not rely on snails and other detritivores to clean up; feed moderately.
Jill1815
You are indeed quite stubborn; you refuse to understand what we are advising you, not how to do it worse, but how it should be done. You also misunderstand Anatoly's statement, interpreting it at your own level, while he told you in post #339, I quote. The truth is right next to you, but you stubbornly refuse to see it... well, the one who laughs last laughs best. Take a look at the profiles of those who are telling you this; maybe something will convince you and you will stop indulging in self-admiration.
Jamie3553
I looked at the photos, read the posts... no words, just expressions... Well, this was to be expected. The impression is that the person perceives marine aquaristics "upside down." In such a marine aquarium, and with such an approach to the matter, there will be no prospects for development... Even if one follows the advice. Starting the sea with rainwater, which now resembles a toxic solution more than anything else, has never been seen on the forum. Well, explaining or teaching anything is a waste of time... Go ahead, you are doing everything "wonderfully."
Melissa3200
She will understand, won't be offended, won't leave... She's not touchy...))))
Patricia
That's good.... I would like to see your aquarium at the moment; some say it resembles the topic starter's aquarium.
Jacob7201
A peculiar kind of riff... If the topic starter removes the plastic protomallites, replaces rainwater with osmosis, improves the well-being of the fish, and starts building a marine aquarium according to your circulars, they might achieve something... although I highly doubt it...
Sara
This should be understood as the surgeon Ktenokhatus strigosus, or am I mixing something up?
James4342
I have Ctenochaetus truncatus:
Wendy8540
Due to some (not very good) circumstances, Polina's reef looked different (I am sure it will become much better, considering the owner's attitude even towards the most microscopic inhabitants and those considered pests). P.S. Polina, your topic and Sanya's topic have become decisive in my desire to have a sea!
Hunter1471
Thank you )) We are gradually recovering ))) Many have recovered, almost from nothing... I'm glad )))
3 SPS survived, Blastomussa merlettii, and one Euphyllia polyp (I didn't even hope) and so on ))
Julia
brrr, goosebumps....
Jeffrey496
What are you bragging about? Is that all?
Now look - the message was also on the first page of this... topic:
The fact that you started doing water treatment correctly and are following the replacement schedule is already VERY GOOD!!!! This means someone was able to instill the basic rules of maintaining a marine aquarium. This is encouraging.
Angela6489
I'm not bragging... I just told the truth... what is there to hide... everyone experiences losses... especially since the mollusks were brought in my pocket from the Red Sea... of course, I feel sorry for Ksyusha... but right now I'm obsessed with anemones... they've become like children to me... I enjoy feeding them... I like how they sway their tentacles in the flow of water.
James
It was all like this before... just with all the criticism, no one noticed that I was doing everything right... of course, it was a big mistake to start with rainwater... thank God I got lucky... but with Ksyusha, I wasn't so lucky—just one substitution... I was only starting with rainwater... literally a month later, I began using distillate... I was distilling it and collecting it in canisters... and I ended up with six five-liter canisters... I wrote the distillation dates on the labels... and then I noticed an unmarked bottle sitting there... I was confused... and then I remembered that it was the last of the rainwater.

It's encouraging that you are starting to understand at least some of what we told you. Everyone experiences losses, and they are inevitable, but our task is to manage the marine aquarium in such a way that these losses are minimized.
P.S. I would like to see a few recent photos of your aquarium.

What's the point? We all know what we'll see on them.
Holly
Well, yes, the whole forum is just sitting there waiting for someone to die on your end... Damn, it's not going to happen! It just all looks terrible on your side.
Courtney
Offtopic Well... what can I say, since the chrysiptera is alive, it's time to start planting SPS and using surgeons... what does water quality and all that have to do with it, let's go ahead and sing along...
Bridget
It's fine now... you'll see tomorrow... but as they say, a cop can attach himself to anything...
Lindsey3362
Here we go... and I was just thinking the same... immediately criticism and in a negative direction... the chrysiptera is an indestructible creature... you can't kill it with a shovel... I'm looking at the actinias... and the euphyllias... or is this not a sign for you?

Dear, in order to discuss the indicators in marine aquaristics, one needs to understand it correctly and work with it properly. Unfortunately, you currently lack both. And as I understand, you are not willing to learn and are sticking to your own approach. The appearance of your aquarium has not improved, and with your current approach, a long and peaceful life for your aquatic organisms is not in sight.

So we look and see that they were not in the best shape. That's why we want to see how they feel now.

Well, we were told - as long as we haven't died yet, that's already a sign.
Stephen5857
it's been dying for 3 months already
Sarah
I understand that you think—man is a wolf to man...a normal situation.
Emily
Do you want me to marvel at the yellow light and the dying Parazoanthus on the left and right above? Then, according to your logic, there would be a friend, comrade, and brother? You won't get that...
Tina
Well, let them die for another month... they've already been dying for a month... but they seem to have multiplied instead of dying... and the light... I only turn it on in the evening... I know that a lot of that light bleaches the zoanthids... but at least they all open up to the last little bump... ALL... LET'S DIE FOR ANOTHER MONTH!!!!

Well, I thought so. Wow! The condition of the aquarium is terrible, it's completely tasteless. Change the name of your topic to DUMP IN THE LAGOON! Everything is in detritus, the state of the corals is depressing, the sand is quartz, the background is poorly glued, disgusting. You say everything is opening up for you? Judging by the photos, everything is stressed, and you are just self-soothing. Sorry, but I haven't seen a worse aquarium on OUR marine forum or any other forums. If someone gifted me such an aquarium, I would be very offended by that person for their disrespect and insult. Change your positions radically. Don't make a fool of yourself.
Vincent
And you consider this a marine aquarium? Don't torture the animals and just don't embarrass yourself. Is it really that hard to buy a proper lamp for the sea?
