If there is a desire to repeat what is in the video, there are no drawbacks.
William
I'm not talking about the shortcomings of the video. I'm asking whether it's really possible to recreate something similar to what is shown in the video. I've seen many aquariums, for example, with fish and plants that are incompatible with each other. They are set up for a couple of hours just to take photos or videos. That's why I'm asking: will hydrobionts similar to those in the video really thrive and live well in such an aquarium?
Diana3118
Alex, I'm very glad to see you in the marine section. I think you'll do much better than in the video. Here is a discussion about the aquarium you're interested in.
Frank7213
Yes.
Tanya
I would recommend getting a better aquarium; it looks like a gray cube, but in my opinion, it has a larger total volume of over 150 liters, the glass quality is excellent, and overall, take a look here.
Here is the link to my aquarium.
Best regards.
Curtis
This is exactly what I wrote about. Maybe very briefly.
We are looking at - actiniae (or euphily...???) - from above. The middle row - rodactis and a couple of discoactinia.
In this system, they will feel fine. Rodactis with discs will also reproduce.
David4089
The message meant that with this lighting and a similar arrangement of corals (high mound!) + moderately temperamental corals + 3 fish (mandarin, clown, chrysiptera) --- everything will be fine for many years. And beautiful, too.
Debbie3587
I saw a surgeon in such an aquarium in one video. Isn't it cramped for him there?
Rodney
It's cramped, but my zebrasoma is still living happily in the 130-liter tank and singing.
Brandon4517
So in Sere it seems like 160 in total?... And this is Boyo, a Chinese guy, is he really good in quality? I'm a bit afraid of Chinese products... I found a video with this Boyo, it's beautiful!
Keith7534
Recently, I bought a Boyu 550, and I'm giving the roof to Tkach for modification to install LEDs. It's expensive, but I might go for it...
David4968
What do you mean by making all the light LED? What is wrong with fluorescent lamps?
Melissa
The light from blue LEDs is very beautiful and complements the rest of the spectrum well. It's not that expensive. For example, 120 pieces of LEDs, each 1.4 watts, on a non-waterproof (waterproof ones are not available from sellers because they are not supplied, but that's okay, this one will do) strip 2 meters long with a power supply cost 380.
Chelsea
With the price of the aquarium at 280 dollars, the conversion to LEDs (5 stars) is 300 dollars.
Michelle9986
Off-topic Not bad...
Tanner
I also thought about getting a small one just for fun, but in the end, I realized there was no autonomy and started everything from scratch. Tkach's prices are initially quite high; I should have looked for skilled craftsmen at the Cosmodrome (or posted a call on the forum - there are plenty of skilled people here too, and for real money without fanaticism).
Laura3673
I don't need to start from scratch; I can redo the 600-liter tank, I just need to sell the fish. I don't agree with "Autonomy 0" (what do you mean by that?), although I'm not referring to my own experience. I've seen many such aquariums on this forum and on YouTube.
Yes, Tkachev is expensive, but I've seen his work with a forum member. I'd rather overpay than regret it later.
Karen2578
There is no autonomy in the sense that you can't leave this aquarium alone for a week; that factor at least drove me.
Regarding overpayment - everything is relative.
P.S. By the way, I left Tanyga - she's cool, even though the sea is brighter in the morning.
Heather
300 bucks for a LED retrofit??? What a rip-off!!! Go to Epicenter, get a 1.5-meter waterproof LED strip (there's blue and white) + power supply for 299. You can connect three strips to this power supply. They shine just great. Calculate the savings.
Kendra2262
Yes, the price is indeed extremely inflated.
Amy1672
First of all, it doesn't specify which stars, how many watts, and what about the controllers - so it's hard to judge whether it's expensive or not.
The cosmodrome... I wanted to order diodes there - the price was 4.50, but they sent them with a price of 8 euros, and you have to pay, and availability is in 2-3 weeks. And these are 3-watt diodes. As supplemental or night lighting - yes, it will work, but not as the main light.
Courtney
maybe there for 300 bucks with dimming, solar phases sunset-sunrise-overcast, lightning, wireless controller with a color display..
Andrea6761
For some time now, I haven't been recommending FishStreet to people, but they sell an auto refill system. It works very well at the moment. I placed it in the 4th compartment - it activates and refills. The capacity is 7-8 liters, which lasts about a week on average.
Vanessa
I filled the tank with water. I previously added salt to the barrel and mixed it with a pump and aerated it for 12 hours. The water is cloudy. When will it become clear? I plan to add sand on Monday and put in live rocks.
Anne
What kind of salt was used for curing? It's strange that the water is still cloudy.
Stephen5841
this
Gene1948
I am ready to pay you. Will you do this for me for 300 dollars?
Michele9664
Did you use RO water? I have used such salt - no complaints. It dissolves completely and without cloudiness.
Amy5070
I can't comment on the Tetravskaya salt since I haven't tried it. However, in principle, the salt should dissolve very well, and after half an hour (which is a big plus), the water should already be crystal clear. Could the barrel in which the salt was dissolved be the reason? I use 50-liter, white, food-grade barrels. I had a case when I mixed in a 50-liter black barrel, and the water never became clear. I mixed it with the remaining water, and everything was fine afterward.
Danny
I dissolved salt in 50 liters, specifically in white food-grade salt. Then I mixed it with salt-free water, using osmosis, in the aquarium. I looked again. It became clearer; I think by tomorrow morning it will be transparent.
Michelle
If you mean RO, then yes, of course.
Earl
For a couple of days, the water in the aquarium will be whitish and cloudy, then it will become clear. Good luck with the start!
Eric5208
People! I plan to buy 9 kg of sand (like live sand). Will it be enough for a layer of 4-5 cm?
John3432
It is unlikely to get 5 cm, somewhere around 3-4. I have a bottom of 40-80 cm and a bag of sand (type of live, 9 kg) laid down in a 2 cm layer. Your bottom of 51-57 seems to be excellent. After laying the sand, there will be turbidity again.
Pamela
this is the gross, there is also a sample at the back.
Amy1672
I used salt from Sich and almost immediately the water became clear, but for the sand, I have a bottom of 58x58 cm and an average height of 3 cm (plus or minus) - I used 27 kg (3 packages of 9 kg each). And the sand caused a cloudiness that lasted about a week - you should immediately install a filter with synthetic padding, otherwise, this happiness will last for a month.
Rodney
What kind of sand was it?
Brent7831
I just salted a 20-liter barrel, in 15-20 minutes the water is crystal clear, or maybe even faster. The salt is as Sichevskaya wrote.
Robert5335
It seems that this is the one I will buy. I didn't find any other. There are plenty of dry ones. But there are no wet white ones.
Jason9952
The delivery from Airif is coming soon - it will be fresh... you can wait. I really didn't wait.
Phyllis
We have seen Tkach's homemade products, and I have personally gotten involved with him multiple times. Don't expect anything good. He will invest 1 and take 10 from you.
I wish you good luck!
Adam4310
I haven't read anything bad about him on the forum. Thank you for the pessimistic forecast.
April3499
A couple of days ago, I added sand. The water was already clear until today when I added a cup of sand from an old aquarium, but it's getting clearer by the minute. I did tests for SIO2. Red Sea tests. The scale goes from yellow to vibrant green. I measured it twice, and the solution is bluish. How should I interpret this?
David
Well, if the scale were built according to the color spectrum, blue comes after green... but that doesn't mean anything. Most likely, you conducted the test incorrectly... And why are you measuring silicates on the first day? Or is it just that there are no other tests to measure? Relax, you will have silicates until the diatom bloom subsides. After you place the rocks, you can put a bag of anti-phosphate in the sump/filter, but make sure it's a proper one that removes silicates. After placing the rocks, you should only be concerned about ammonia/ammonium and nitrate/nitrite. And also salinity and temperature, as there will be hot days ahead.
Bridget
A few days ago, I covered it with sand. Yesterday, I brought some stones. I laid them down. I don't know if it's right...
There are already the first inhabitants. Along with the old sand, I got three hermits, and they are already plowing the bottom.
Melissa3820
It is better to lay the stones so that they do not touch any walls (at least a couple of centimeters), for ventilation, the necessary creatures to crawl, and to prevent the accumulation of detritus.
Erica752
Do they touch in specific spots, or is that also a problem?
Christopher4125
For example, it's fine on the left, but bad on the right. I understand there is no passage at the back either. We need to figure it out so that a fish, for instance, can swim through there.
Joseph2576
concerns only a couple of points. The fish will swim through, and it won't be small.
Jeffery7866
Well, that means everything is fine. The scraper will also "float." The side walls will need to be cleaned 1-2 times a week - does that not bother you? It's better not to move the stones around constantly.
Bryan1851
It confuses me. I will rearrange it.
James3382
I installed a powerful filter with synthetic fiber and Purigen in the aquarium today - let it remove the suspended particles and organic matter for now, although the water already looks clear. Can I plant the brittle star in about a week?
Matthew
They can already be planted, in fact, they should be. I started with the oscars - they swim excellently (I got some from Popsuy for temporary holding).
Christine
On which day after J.K. (living stones)?
Jason9385
on the day after the placement of the S.R.K. (dry reef stones), and I put in the J.K. (live stones) after about 3 or even 4 weeks
Tami
Oh...
Kenneth2761
Tested the water.
pH - 8.1 JBL test
NO2 - 0.1-0.15 API test
NO3 - 5-10 (on the scale, both 5 and 10 show the same color) API test
Todd8452
I have a JBL backpack myself. And I used Tropic Marin for important parameters (KH, PO4, Ca, Mg). Put the cheatomorphs for nitrites, nitrates...
Helen
For now, Purigen is lying there...
Susan1358
Why even conduct a test for silicon dioxide? Enlighten the darkness.
Andrea
I wonder why they measure them... I wanted to check if the sand is radioactive.
Wesley
Guys, can the fish from this video really live in 75 liters?
Laurie3842
Well, zebrasoma and hapatus are definitely excessive in this volume - the others can manage, but not in such quantities.
Joyce
the coolest.... will they feel cramped in mine too?
Jacob4800
I think if you buy small specimens, nothing bad will happen to them; there are hipatuses that are 2-3 cm, and zebras are usually larger in size.
Melissa2062
Hepatus definitely needs more space, but I think you can add a zebrasoma if you find a small one and don't include a dozen other fish in the tank.
Nicole7122
I'm thinking about the traditional pair of ocellaris described above, like the zebrasoma and hepatus, for example... maybe a bottom-dwelling fish of some kind.
I've seen something like a cowfish in that size, but that seems dangerous, right?
Rita
Check out the topic of Lyokha BIOCON, how he put all the fish in the tank, better buy the Royal Gramma Gramma loreto - it's truly a fish of stunning beauty.
Danielle9144
I wouldn't recommend keeping zebrasoma and hepathus together; the latter, although small, grow quite quickly beyond these sizes. There are some safe bodyfish there, but I don't remember their names.
Joseph9057
there's something about her that I don't like...
Andrew4194
What a hapatus with a zebrasoma, they are getting so big. In our store in Odessa, Aqualife, there is a hapatus that was originally bigger than mine, but now it's much smaller and clearly not growing at all. Once, I put a scopus in a resan for three days to later put it in a bigger tank; the fish was stressed, stopped eating after a day, and didn't recover.
Maria
Wow, NO2 is spiking - today the value is 1 mg/L... I was planning to go for the officers today, or is it not worth it?
David2398
They are just cleaning up the mess.
Megan
I have already postponed the brittle stars for a few days, today I will throw in the hitomorphs.
Danielle8118
let nothing happen to them - don't worry. By the way, the J.K. (living stones) were supposed to be small - I have a bunch of them - they stick out of all the holes.
Jenny
not visible...
Ashley5975
I put a heteromorph and a huge brittle star. Although, poor thing, they tore off a leg when extracting it from the rock... but it should grow back, right?
Kenneth2761
will grow back
Gregory
It's interesting, but I took the severed leg, and it has been moving in the aquarium for almost a day. Maybe something will come of it?
Brandy
There will be another one from her.
Ricky9405
Are you joking?
Jerry
Yes, no - they have an interesting feature of reproduction by division - that is, in theory, if everything goes well, there will be 2 brittle stars.
Timothy
A week has passed since the setup of the aquarium (live rocks), and nitrites are holding at 1 mg/l. Purigen and cheto are still in place. They recommend adding vodka, so if I do that, can I remove Purigen?
David2398
Well, are you kidding me!!! Why do you need vodka? I didn't even put purigen... I'm thinking of starting to add ozone - but for now, I won't put anything else!!!
I immediately added JBL bacteria for the start, put in dry reef rocks (S.R.K.) and launched the cicadas and threw in Ksenia.
And off we go!!!
So, add the bacteria, take out the purigen, and see what happens.
Take a little branch of Ksenia; if you want, I can give you a small one. If it doesn't do well, then something is wrong in the system - if it does well, then everything is fine in the system. That's how I determined it.
Cynthia6578
The weaver advised.
What kind of bacteria did you take?
Susan1358
JBL Denitrol.
Alexander
No need to add anything, the aquarium is maturing. All the bacteria are in your live rocks. Just be patient a little longer and everything will settle down.
Kevin3114
Guys, is there no need for substitutions yet?
James5103
Well, it definitely doesn't last a month. I haven't done it for 2 months, and I'm planning to change about 10 liters this weekend... or even 5.
Karen2578
Why are you giving such nonsense advice? Did you start with dry rock? This person is starting with live rock. So, don't listen to everyone indiscriminately. You don't need vodka. All you need is patience. You should already be adding strombus snails, small brittle stars, tiny snails, and other small creatures that you can even collect in your city for a bottle of beer. For example, I didn't use Purigen. You definitely need good charcoal and anti-phosphate. Moreover, I understand you haven't even had diatoms yet... And it's about time to create your own thread in the section for established aquariums.
Nicole7268
I think we can ask the moderator to move it. The strombus have nothing to eat, there’s no greenery at all. And what is the difference between activated carbon and Purigen (it seems that both absorb organic matter)?
Charles5941
Strombuses and hermit crabs will find something to eat. And a new topic can be created, while this one can stay in its place.
Joshua448
OK, the hermits are already here, and I'll call for the purchase of strombus.
Kevin262
I do not advise - I share my experience - I wrote - that I started with dry rock (S.R.K.) and after a month added live rock (L.K.).
And please tell me - when were the BACTERIA harmful??? And WHAT DIFFERENCE does it make what you start with??? Bacteria are bacteria everywhere - and if you do not understand the process, then why tell others something unclear?
Bacteria CAN AND SHOULD (if possible) be added to ANY TANK AT THE START - whether with dry rock (S.R.K.) or live rock (L.K.) - IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE!!!
Alejandro
Guys, when does it usually happen that nitrites normalize when starting up in a live rock tank?
Andrea
What difference does it make how to grow bacteria? The rule is the same for everyone - it takes about a month for bacteria to establish in the aquarium, and then it all depends on the aquarium (who, how many, and how).
Alejandro
What is the advantage of launching on live stones (наЖ.К.) then?
Michael
that there is a lot of small life there - which later helps the aquarium organize the processes of "digestion" of the system
Laura4892
as well as many strains of bacteria that exist only in living stones..........
John3187
Well, I kind of believe in the power of vials and the possibility that there might be something alive inside, placed there by the manufacturer, but I'm not sure that everyone reads the storage conditions of these vials, and even more so that those conditions were maintained throughout the entire journey to you... By the way, I saw a post somewhere where a person said that a microbiological test of one of these vials found no life inside.
Joseph9057
I think transportation issues have a greater impact (for example, in winter). Otherwise, it works - I have nitrites/nitrates at normal levels from the start... but without bacteria, the levels would be extremely high.
Brandy1134
I also started off fine, didn't pour anything, just J.K. (living stones), and what does that indicate?
Pamela
ask SHERKHAN Lyokha what life is like in test tubes with supposedly living bacteria...................
Melissa1838
I have not been normal from the start, does that mean something too?
Joshua3019
This means that there are few live rocks (J.K.) in which there should be decomposition products, which would normally cause a spike in ammonia, then nitrites, and subsequently nitrates, all within a month... At least that's what the smart books claim. This means that for your volume of rocks, there are enough, but there are no bacteria, so they will multiply...
Angel628
I don't understand the foam. The foam comes out only sometimes, almost white. Is that normal?
Melanie
I don't have it all the time either, but it's a bit dirty. Apparently, there's not much to knock out at the start.
Mike
If there's nothing to hit, then why is the NO3 coming out?
Spencer7805
As far as I understand this process, it removes organic matter, meaning it works instead of Purigen. And the bacteria operate in their own area.
Matthew7977
If it's not there (life), then it's not difficult to guess, right? And all these JBL and others would have long been exposed for deceiving customers.
John3142
That's right!)) In Europe, they would have exposed the deception a long time ago.
Our entire scam is built on various test tubes, bottles, and the results are quite good... There are many smart people who can talk, but they can't show anything worthy on their part... It's all strange, isn't it?
Jacqueline6670
I think the question is rhetorical..... let's leave the discussion about the presence of bacteria in supplements.
Kenneth7331
This is written to Yuri Naumovich!!!
But you and I are doing a completely different sea...
You trust the laboratory, but what kind of laboratory is it? Maybe it needs to be checked too? And do they have the appropriate equipment? And have they even conducted any tests at all? All of this is just empty talk!
Nicholas
And what does Naumovich have to do with this? Are you trying to reproach me for something? Or remind you of the bots you created for your own "promotion"? Well, you are right that we are doing different things; yours come and go, while mine stand still for years. As for the fact that "it's all just empty talk," that's not beneficial for you, which is why it's empty. Time will judge, and everything will fall into place.
Heather2018
Guys, stop talking about bacteria and laboratories.
Michelle1662
The best quality live rock
Time has already judged everything and put it in its place!!! Have you heard about the SPS reefs that we will show you all very soon... and what? How much more time is needed?
Bryan1851
You should visit the forum more often, and you would see what I posted about my aquariums. Take a look at some photos here; of course, it's not impressive yet, but this is just the beginning.
I prefer softness and LPS. That's what I mainly focus on. At home, I currently have three aquariums: 300, 450, and I recently set up a 700. And the best thing is quality live rock; I completely agree with you 100%.
James5032
Sorry!!! I couldn't hold back!
Alicia5489
Nitrites have not dropped yet (it's been a week and a half). Today, a small fan worm was spotted in one of the aquariums (live rocks). A severed arm of an ophiuroid has been lying in front of the front glass for a week now and is slowly moving. Due to the high nitrite levels (as advised in the book by Ov and Savchuk), I do not turn on the light (except for about 20 minutes, and even then, not every day).
Aaron6112
Two weeks have passed since the setup of the aquarium (live stones). Nitrites are still at 1 mg/l.
Guys, can I possibly add Ksenia? I really want to bring the picture to life.
Charles5941
Thank you.
Guys, thank you so much for the advice. If the discussion about bacteria in test tubes is interesting, maybe it should be moved to a separate topic?
Jesse3979
the topic of the first sea in the general section, I think it makes sense to gather different viewpoints and experiences here. someone on live rocks, someone on dry ones...
Brent8919
I told you about this a long time ago ... it will be like a measure of overall condition ...
Jerry
There will be light for 6 hours, launch for your health, I have a pink one living in the swamp, it reproduces. Water parameters are unknown.
Joshua3019
I brought Ksenia, but I haven't released her yet. However... the place where I bought her scared me. I mentioned the nitrite level - 1.0 mg/l. They said that these are terrible levels, that nothing can live in them at all, and that this can happen if a piece of meat is rotting in the aquarium.
In general, please enlighten me...
Crystal4879
Isn't anyone going to give a hint?
Debra
What are you worried about? Go ahead. If it breaks down, you'll come, and I'll give you a new one.
Bonnie
I started it. It deflated a bit at first, but then it seemed to perk up and pulsated. Right now, I don't know how it is; that aquarium is in the office... I'll see it in the morning.
Scott9892
Well, you're brave - I still can't bring myself to set up a sea tank in the office - the shrimp tank just sits there, getting a bit moldy.
Omar3497
So I'm sitting alone in a 35-meter office.
Jacob7201
So what does the size have to do with it... you set up a small system that needs constant monitoring... and in the office... it's better to have at least 300 with proper sampling and equipment... In short, I hardly think I'll set up a small tank in the office...
Kenneth2761
I don't understand what the rush is in the office? I bought this aquarium, as I mentioned, specifically as a "sample." At home, I have two aquariums - a 100-liter one and a 600-liter one, both with overflow boxes, with the possibility of installing sumps, etc. - in general, there's plenty of room for activity.
Joseph9057
The thing is that you have to leave the aquarium for a long time, and a small system is more delicate than a large one - that is, there is every chance that everything will go wrong. You would be better off training at home, but that's just what I think. If it works out, it will be cool.
Sheila
It may sound strange, but you can spend more time at work. Sometimes we actually spend more time at work than at home (excluding sleep). The office is not left for a long time.
Destiny
I agree with that, but I'm constantly being pulled in different directions, so I don't have time to relax properly. But I'm not just talking about that, I'm also referring to weekends and holidays... well, I don't know about you, but for me, the electricity keeps fluctuating, Kyivenergo is messing around...
Ross
Yes, sometimes they turn it off. I get a text saying "power is off." I need to buy an inverter.
Christopher1774
Well, Ksenia is alive. She is pulsating, although not all the heads. I reduced the flow a bit - it started to pulsate less, then I returned the flow. Nitrates are still at 1.
April3499
Well... among the Ksenias, there are iptazias. What is better to bomb them with, they are right among the Ksenias?
Cynthia6578
I even know from whom you took Ksenia. They recommend soaking them with burning by injecting boiling water into a syringe and blowing it into her... But I took Helmon, and it ate everything. You can also take a shrimp in your mini (the dancing one, I think - it also eats). I know I’m repeating myself, but what do you have to lose? Just pour in the bacteria, and your nitrites will go away faster...
Deborah2682
Yesterday I added bacteria, today I will do it again.
Cassandra7840
Well, there, you need to dose it over the week, for the sea, double the amount compared to fresh water. This way, the bacteria will start working in a month, but it will be faster...
Cheryl
Oops... I noticed a break in one of Ksenia's legs, almost at the base. Not a survivor?
Jasmine
Everything will be fine. Just press her down with a stone - and she might even share...
Rita
No one needs to be pressured. Tenant. Observe for a day or two. I almost cut mine to the root, a new Ksenia is growing from the stump. Show photos, it will be clearer.
Thomas5021
I do love those who interfere... well, why criticize others? By pressing down, we achieve a faster division of Ksenia - this has nothing to do with survival.
Brooke3987
So it's pink, pulsating, only 3-4 cm tall. How can I press it down?
Chris
the pink one is the long and pulsating one - and this one is called white
Kristen1161
well, yes, more like white.
Nicole7268
I still haven't received the modified lid. Although Tkach promised to do it in a week, it's been almost four weeks now, just two days short... it's quite unpleasant...
Melissa3820
I haven't personally encountered it, but people say...
Jamie3553
now I share the same opinion... it would be better if people wrote instead of talking, to avoid making the same mistakes.
Christine864
In general, I took the lid and the money. The question of the modification remains open. Can someone give advice on how to modify it or whom to contact? Or maybe just leave what I have (2*24)? That should be enough for soft corals, right?
Michele
That's enough, and LPS corals grow well, and oak SPS too, the main thing is to change the lamps at least once a year, replace the water, sometimes add trace elements, and it's good that things didn't work out with Tkachev, he once deceived me about live rocks... a person with a rotten character.
Patricia
Guys, please give me some advice.
Diana7891
I wrote above, look, I had the same one, now people have it, the corals are growing quite well.
Justin9867
2 to 24 and so the water up to 30 + heating..................for the evaporation is practically none.......so it's good on one hand and bad on the other.
Rachel9060
I don't think you're counting on SPS in such a tank. For starters, that's enough. And in about a year, doubts will definitely creep in, and you'll start itching for 300+.
Eric
That's for sure! In six months, I switched from a BOYU 130 to a full-fledged reef tank of 750 liters.
Joshua8425
Odessa, Offtopic, well, you can't manage on a teacher's salary of 750...
Alyssa1438
Guys, where can I find Pl lamps (white/blue or white and blue) 24W in Kyiv?
April3499
At Tkach or on Aquafanate in a joint order from the States. The actinics are good. Specifically, 24W.
Martin3206
I took an actinic and a white from him.
Hello everyone. For two days, I spent about three hours working on the lighting. In the end, I added two 24W lamps, connecting them to the electronic ballast, which I moved outside the lid. The nitrites dropped to 0.5. I think in a couple of days, I can add some hydrobiota.
Guys, can I plant a couple of ocellaris and maybe some umbrellas? Who can be planted at the start?
Right now, I have an ophiuroid, hermit crabs, and a pulsating xenia.
Mitchell3177
It's better to add corals. The fish at the start risks pulling the live rocks towards serious algae growth. Maybe just a small algae-eating fish. Overall, it's better to plant a strombus for now.
Elizabeth882
Take your time for now, wait a couple more weeks, then you can launch a couple of small oscillators.
Tanner
which ones?
Mario
Well, it's a matter of taste. Sarcophyton, Sinularia, Lobophytum, Rodactis, Zoanthus. But I wouldn't recommend Ricordea - it's quite a beast, it needs to be planted separately.
From the hard corals, I can recommend Montipora, Pocillopora, Seriatopora. And the beautiful Euphyllia.
P.S. I'm advising from personal experience.

I rearranged the stones. When I stirred the stones, a mass of dirt was raised. Shouldn't this happen? I mean, it was supposed to be blown away by the pump to prevent silt buildup?
The last two weeks, the Coral nano 1 pump was turned off, and the flow was only through the flute. I placed Ksenia on the bottom, turned on the pump, but somehow it bends Ksenia. Guys, should it be standing straight?
Michelle9986
If the ksyukha is well opened and pulsating but tilting, it means it will soon "crawl," i.e., reproduce. Moving across the stone, it leaves "traces" from which new ksyukhas will soon appear.
But if it is wrinkled, the polyps are closed, and it is tilting, then it is not doing well.
Rachel
I shot a short video. There is no slope yet - I think I will add some stones on top... but I don't know, J.K. (live rocks) or S.R.K. (dry reef rocks)?
Laura3615
The brittle star grows a new arm in place of the severed one, while the severed arm lives a separate life.
Johnny
Ksenia looks downcast. But she hasn't shrunk into the barrel. For now, place her at the very top, where the current is stronger; she will cheer up if the light is already around 10 o'clock.
Anne
I like it, but why haven't you finished laying the stones? Ksyusha is fine—the main thing is that it pulsates, and you can see that the current is blowing on it.
Joshua9847
I placed it in this spot 10 minutes ago. It was up top, but I still want it to grow down below.
Karen
I think I'll buy another stone; it seems like the slope won't work with these.
Jessica5348
The stones are just piled up - not cool... on the right, it's close to the glass - it will be inconvenient to clean the last one... There's no passage at the back at all... It needs to be rearranged!!!
Michelle104
The scraper seems to go around from all sides...
Charles
Today I was looking at umbrellas. I just don't understand, on the photos on the forum, for example here: they look bright, just amazing. But in real life, it's not the same at all.
Jacqueline6670
different lighting. Depending on the spectrum of the lamps, the colors of the animals can vary significantly, as we see reflected light.
Ryan7682
No. The change in color and shape when conditions change, such as when moving from the store to home, is one thing. Mastery of photographic art is something entirely different.
Melissa2062
Damn, just one coral and there's already a problem with the current... I directed the flute parallel to the water surface (the openings used to face upwards). Ksenia is standing on the bottom, so it's bending her; it didn't bend before, but the stones weren't being blown. What to do, how to direct the current?
John3432
People, what glue should I use and how to glue the J.K. (living stones) and the titanium rod?
David4089
Hello everyone! I have new settlers: two ocellaris clownfish, two small colonies of umbrella corals, mushrooms (I forgot to ask the name), briarium, and snails. The aquarium is starting to come to life!
Michael5242
I transferred the hitamorph to the samp, but it's almost dark there. Maybe it can be removed from the system now?
Martin3206
Maybe it's better to "make it bright for her" and she will eat all sorts of "stuff" from the water.
Chad9037
sure it is. But the compartments are very small, and how much effect it will have...
Andrea9320
In the third compartment, there was a chaetomorpha on two lamps of 6 or 9 watts. For some time, I didn't pay much attention to it, only washed the lamps once a week (submersible). I was VERY surprised when I pulled out a rectangular, dense "cake" of chaetomorpha, it could be sliced with a knife. It was almost half the length of the compartment. So it is growing, growing... and doing its job.
Leslie
What if you really remove the film from the back window in the compartment with the heteromorph, as you were advised? Maybe the lamps won't be needed? My aquarium is facing away from the window.
Lindsey3628
Well, you'll be cleaning the back glass. With a change of places... At least you can stick the lamps in the middle, the lighting will be more even, I guess.
Believe me - give the system 12-15 kg of live rock, don't overload it with fish, and in six months you can dismantle the compartment with the chetomorpha and fill it with live rock.
Dawn6148
OK, I'll try to do it that way. What kind of lamps were they, where did you buy them? And also, if this morph was in the third department, where was the return pump then?
Patricia1746
Any effect, even the tiniest one, will be useful. Even a little bit, a teaspoon, is already good—let alone a whole compartment.
Melanie
Finished?
Joshua8425
Apparently, I confused you with someone else. I thought we had the same systems - BOYU TL 550. It has four compartments in the sump.
Amy9618
Exactly, 4 o'clock, I'm already falling asleep... So if there are algae at 4, then what about the return pump?
Karen81
Sleep already. Pump at 4m. Algae eater (+LCD) at 3m. Sponge at 2m. At 1m - drain and more LCD (live rocks).
Andrew4194
And now J.K. (living stones) is also in 4th. On top of the pumps.
Jasmine
With a difference of one day, two of the three hermits who had lived there for a month died. What could it be...
Danielle
dead in shells or maybe they molted?
Jennifer7159
Was there a water change before this?
Patricia1746
the dead stank... there were no substitutions.
Monica
We need to look for something else. The brittle star doesn't eat Ksenia. I have different ones - both small and large. They only scoop up "gunpowder" from the sand.
Heather9815
Yesterday, I watched as a brittle star ate the last deceased Black Sea hermit crab.
Anne4851
This is exactly her natural behavior.
John
Indeed, it is not a food object for her. However, due to the brazen behavior of large specimens during the feeding of fish and corals, they can damage the polyps of sensitive invertebrates. This applies not only to Xenia.
Ashley5975
Hello everyone. A week ago, I apparently measured calcium incorrectly. I added Reef Complete. Today I took 3 measurements - it showed 480. Is that critical? What should I do?
I also noticed... around one of the Acanthastrea corals, orange spots appeared by the evening, not too many yet. I understand that it's cyanobacteria? Can I do something before the epidemic spreads?
Guys, please advise.
Stephen5841
So much advice... Thank you!
Wendy8540
Everything is fine with the calcium, although it would be better to have a little less. Brush off the spots.
Michelle5859
I bought a Lysmata shrimp. It's cool, but it hides. They said (not the seller) that if there are about 3, they won't hide. But the question is: will the corals constantly shrink if the shrimp are crawling on them? Thank you.
P.S. The wonderman actually ate all the aiptasia, but I can't see this shrimp at all anymore.
James5103
If it's a tor, it doesn't hide; if it's bloody, then I have 2 and both are in stash. Even the fish are cleaned in the stash. The corals don't close for me when the crabs crawl on them.
Judy
The doctor is the one with the yellow belly. She might settle in and start climbing - I've only had her for about three days, although she has already molted.
Brent5588
Lismatias amboinensis often spend days hiding after being introduced, getting accustomed. If the conditions in the aquarium are suitable in terms of water and there is no threat of being eaten by any predator, they soon come out into the open and no longer hide, eagerly swimming in front of the glass, waiting for feeding. A group of 3 to 5 lismatias in the aquarium is a stunning sight.
Cheryl
I will buy a couple more!
Guys, can you advise me on the pump? Right now, I have one Coral Nano 900 9V, which is recommended for aquariums of 30-60 liters, plus it blows out from the technical compartment. There is some current, but is there any stagnation in the rocks, which weigh 11 kg, and I plan to buy another five kilograms?
Maybe I should add another pump?
Loretta5483
It costs... a coral nano for 30 liters, in 130 liters, it's too little...
Beth3383
I'm thinking... on the other hand, the recommendation is 8-10 volumes per hour (pump from the sump + pump), right? I have a pump of 1400 liters + pump 900 = 2300 l/hour. Even if the Chinese exaggerated by two times, it still amounts to 10 volumes per hour.
What to do...???
I want to stack the rocks to the top, but there is a strong current from the pump; which (or what) corals can withstand such a current?
Stacy6866
Yesterday I set up the Vortex 10. It's creating a nice wave, but the sand is getting washed away a bit. I will try to keep the wave while reducing its strength. I don't know if it will work... For two days, one of the strombus snails has been sitting in place. It's not visible from the shell, and it smells bad. Apparently, it has died. The reason is a question...
Aaron
Subscribed.
Nicholas2252
I hesitate to ask, but is the original return pump still available?
Jessica9188
Well, yes. What's wrong with her?
Travis572
Yes, everything is fine. It makes noise. Especially at night, there is a hum. I understand that it doesn't have any adjustments?
Kenneth7331
I have this aquarium in my office at work. I can't assess the noise. I mostly hear how the Vortex is pulsing in wave mode... It seems there are no adjustments on the pump.
Patricia1746
It is clear that at home during the day, with the general background noise, everything is smoothed out, but at night, when it is a point source, it is noisy, but you can sleep.
Elizabeth1221
Exactly. A thing like that in the bedroom - not great. My inverter fan keeps turning on and off all the time... I'm currently setting up 600 liters in the bedroom. For fish, without corals. I'm planning an external pump that will be placed along with the sump in the bathroom. We'll see how it turns out.
Heather6148
Well, if the sump is in a different room, then the sleep will be comfortable. I'll check if the suction cups have slipped and the pump housing is touching the aquarium or the partition.
Angela
Oh, guys, how I understand you in your search for a "quiet operation" of the equipment. At home, it feels like a boiler room. Just last night, an unfamiliar sound woke me up in the fish tank. I had to figure it out at 3 a.m. It turned out one of the pumps decided to start making noise.
Brandy
It's good that the lamps are off at night; there is still a faint hum.
Daniel9952
So big, yet you believe in fairy tales?
Europe is not America; here it's also a lottery, just with a higher chance of hitting the jackpot than in the CIS countries.
P.S. - sorry for the off-topic!
Brandi
People! Something is crackling in the foam. What could it be? Does it need to be cleaned (serviced)?
Sarah
What happened, how was the issue resolved?
Anne
Once a snail crawled into the chamber, I shook it out - and that's it.
