• TRANSPORTATION OF CORALS

Based on the question, it is more important to make a thermobox in this case. Any package (aquarium) will do. Two to three heights of coral aquarium water will be enough for transportation.

Regular packages in two layers. Between the layers - newspaper. 2/3 or 1/2 water, the rest air. It's not a bad idea to hang corals "upside down" on pieces of foam so that they stay underwater during movement. Breathing bags are not suitable - they are instantly pierced by corals and rocks. SPS dry - ONLY if you guarantee a stable temperature in the box and at your own risk (personally, I have not encountered a completely successful transport this way). And 9 hours is not much at all. It's not worth the risk.

Thank you for the answers) but there is one condition - the entire bag needs to be filled with water... because even with a foam "float," the coral will most likely turn to the air side.. (the box will definitely be turned over about 10 times) what will happen if transported in a 100% water-filled bag? (for example, a breathable one..)

I repeat - a breathing bag with a hard coral inside will not last even 10 minutes. Believe me - I have tried these options (which, of course, does not prevent you from spending money, time, and corals on your own experiments). If it's not a secret, where and how will you be sending the corals, that "the box will definitely be turned over 10 times"? Can't it be sent in a less extreme way? So you need to take bags of appropriate sizes - so that even when turned over, the coral remains in the water. Air in the bag is necessary.

When sending hard corals, Asians simply take them out of the water and put them in a bag. In this humid state, without water and oxygen (the bag contains moisture and air), the hydrobionts survive well even during longer transportation. Moisture and stable temperature!

Understood. If you decide to send them dry, please let me know the results, preferably with photos of the corals packed this way.

Okay... I'll write back. I still have a question about how to pack the fan worm... can it be packed in this breathable material?

Darlene4238

Without water, 100% polyp disclosure was achieved. Foam packaging is mandatory at any time of the year, whether as checked baggage or carry-on, by plane or train.

You can have a worm.

I will write back in 1.5 months when I go again. This time we didn't manage to get the veterinary certificate.

Hmm... And what is the result?
