That's right. Not everyone, I would say far from everyone, enjoys a strong current of water. Some not only get stressed by it but ultimately perish. Such cases have occurred in my memory. However, I should clarify that this happened when there was no one to take action—remove the fallen pump, which acted like a fire hose on the nearby substrate. Discoactinia can be blown away, while goniopora and euphyllia can engulf polyps and not release them until the strong current subsides.

Due to the strong current in my aquarium, the discus fish were being knocked off the rocks. The euphyllia was turning its mouths inside out.
The aquarium dimensions are 80x55x50. The current is from a 5-ton San-San pump, similar to the Resun Waver 15000, with a flow rate of 6000-15000 l/h, but less powerful—I'm thinking up to 5000 l/h. Plus, there's a return of 2000 l/h.
I just replaced the 5000 l/h pump with a 3000 l/h one, as recommended by the store. Now there are practically no dead zones, and the inhabitants really like it.
By the way, this pump is connected to a timer with a lunar cycle and turns off from 1 AM to 6:30 AM.

The topic is good, I'm quite tired of the streams sticking in the corners. I plan to restart my 450L in the near future and definitely use external pumps + a vibe box.
The only downside is that it heats the water, but that's solvable with a chiller.

Wow... That's quite a solution.

I have a not expensive refrigerator that runs on cold water, fortunately, there are no water meters.

Offtopic Vitalik, a couple more such projects and we can start a new, more complex one.
The idea is great. But won't it be too noisy?
Julie4738
Vitalik! Were you a plumber in your past life? What a mess you made.
Chad9037
It will definitely be noisy. Plus, you need to have a spare pump on hand for emergency replacement. Also, someone should always be at home - if the pump stops, the flow will stop too, and the aquarium will "collapse" in half a day.
Maria
He was probably a plumber.
The noise is no more than that of other pumps like Askoll, Aquamedic, Atman, etc. For emergency replacement, I agree, but it is unlikely to stop; even if we assume it does stop, the aquarium won't crash, the return works.

Hello everyone.
I want to buy flow pumps from this topic
JVP-101B
JVP-102B
I can't decide which ones to take and in what quantity, please advise, the aquarium volume is 250 liters.
I also have a pump from an old filter for blowing the back side, Atman 1800.

Put a couple of tachy JVP-101B on magnets. That should be enough.
